P2P--(Person to Person) Another day winds down for me at the office, TriCity Real Estate Brokers. Perhaps after arriving at home, retreating to the study and selecting a good read and a glass of port to end the day? "Knot" quite.Keeping office deadlines and real estate contracts at bay takes some effort, but recently I have found a good way to unwind that does not require port, knitting. My wife started some time ago, and her testimony was that it helped her wind down from a day of teaching elementary school students. Hmmm... Go on... I tried to cast on a row on a knitting needle while watching a Law and Order episode, (my one vice), and I actually caught on. Thai artist Korakot Aromdee is a product of his surroundings. His art pairs one of his home town's most abundant resources with the time-honored Asian art of kite-flying. In creating his large scale sculptures and hanging lighting, he employs the "tie and knot" technique from kite construction, which he learned from his grandfather. He uses only bamboo, and specifically bamboo that is aged more that three years and properly smoked to ensure strength and pliability. He chose the material due to its renewable nature and the fact that it contributes back to his community. He also supports them by employing teams of up to 30 locals to build the actual artwork. The exhibition is striking both in its intricate detailing and grand proportions. Bargain Tuesday: Barratts' red knot front 'Donatella' peep toes I've been hunting for a pair of red peep toes for what feels like forever, and although these 'Donatella' shoes from Barratts aren't quite what I was looking for, the £12 price tag almost persuades me that they're close enough not to matter. These were cheap enough at their original price of £15, and they're still available in everything but a UK 6 or 7. I think they'd be great with all of this season's navy clothes, and if you think so too, you can snap them up at the Barratts website.
