Ko Samui (Thai: ????????) is a tropical island situated in the Surat Thani Province. It lies at around 35km North-East of Surat Thai Town and around 700km South of Bangkok (80 minute flight). The beautiful island is surrounded by 60 other islands, notable examples include Ko Pha-ngan and Ko Tao. Koh Samui is the third largest island covering an area of approximately 228.7 kmē.
