She left to start a solo career in 2003 which made her probably the most popular person in the news for that year. In 2006 she was accused of ripping off lyrics from Brittney Spears, and her singing career fell off after that. Last November, however, Hyori signed a 3 year contract with M-Net for 2.2billion won (about 2.3mil US dollars) which is the most any female singer has ever been paid in Korea. She was the subject of plenty of drama this year, when her first drama flopped, and her second was pulled off the air due to violating advertiser rules.
