New music by Sugababes, Nicole Scherzinger, Kumi Koda & Natasha Bedingfield
2007-08-18 00:37:00
The first single from the Sugababes' fifth album, rumored to be called "Ready Or Not", is called "About You Now", and is produced by Dr. Luke, who produced song for Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne & P!nk to name a few. A video is coming up, it was filmed July 31st.Download "About You Now" Nicole's upcoming album "Her Name Is Nicole" is slowly leaking... Two new songs have leaked, both rumored to be the album's second single. "Baby Love" is produced by will.i.am and "Super Villian" by Mad Scientist. Both are nice, so I don't care much which will be the second single (they're not as good as "Whatever U Like" anyway...).Download "Baby Love" Download "Super Villian"Kumi Koda's 37th single "Ai No Uta" (???? in Japanese, translation = Love Song) also leaked, together with its b-side "Come Over". "Ai No Uta" is the autumn/winter-ballad-followup to "Yume No Uta" (released in October 2006), her 33rd single. "Come Over" is an upbeat song, and is the theme song for the Sekai Judo 2007. Lik...
New Music: Kumi Koda - FREAKY
2007-07-12 17:08:00
Sometimes, when I don't have anything important to do (like today), I often look for some (for me) unknown artists, mostly in countries I don't know much music from. This time, I went to look for some Japanese music (don't ask why), and I'm introducing you to Kumi Koda and her (according to WikiPedia) 36th single, "FREAKY". Kumi Koda (???? in Japanese), born in Kyoto on November 13, 1982 (she's 24 years old), is already active since 2000, when she released her first single "affection", but rose to fame with the "Final Fantasy X-2" single "real Emotion/1000 no Kotoba [1000 words]", released in 2003. Last year, she was named the best-selling singer of 2006 by Oricon (the Japanese version of Billboard). On June 27th, she released her latest single, "FREAKY", and it debuted on #1 on the Oricon Singles Chart last week. She also performed "FREAKY" and four other songs on the Live Earth concert in Tokyo (Rihanna, Xzibit and Linkin Park also performed there!).Download "FREAKY" [mp3]:http...

Kumi Koda (?? ??, K?da Kumi) (born November 13, 1982) is a Japanese Pop singer who debuted in Japan in 2000 with her first single, Take Back. She did not achieve major success until her seventh single, Real Emotion / 1000 no Kotoba, which was a hit because of its connection to Final Fantasy X-2. Her popularity went high in 2005 after the release of Butterfly and being named one of the best selling artists of 2005 from the success of Best For Sings. At the end of 2006, Oricon named her the top seller of 2006 .. Read More
Kumi Koda Is Bringing Sexy Back
2007-01-03 15:39:03
It?s official: Kumi Koda is Japan’s biggest pop icon last year, selling more albums than reigning J-pop queen Ayumi Hamasaki. Kumi, who prides herself on being a modern-day sex goddess, has reportedly amassed an amazing $163.8 million in sales from releasing 12 singles, a greatest hits album and a DVD last year. Last week, she received a trophy from Oricon (Japan’s Billboard) for her ero-kakkoii (Japanese for erotic cool) power. The timing could not be better. In a stagnating J-pop scene dominated by familiar names who keep churning out familiar tunes, flamboyant Kumi, 25, has been a breath of fresh air. Instead of taking a back seat while watching the Korean Wave soar, it seems Japan has finally decided to rejoin the race for the Asian dollar.
