LONG POND, Pa. — Kurt Busch slid out of his royal blue No. 2 Penske Racing Dodge after pulling it into a garage stall directly behind his transporter. He was soaking wet and slightly flushed in the face — but after four hours and 500 grueling miles around Pocono Raceway, he was entitled to look that way. TALLADEGA, Ala. - To say that Toyota teams dominated qualifying at Talladega Superspeedway Saturday would clearly be an understatement. Michael Waltrip won the pole with a lap of 189.070 mph in his Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota. Dave Blaney followed in his Bill Davis Racing Toyota. Toyota drivers took four of the top five spots. Team Red Bull driver and defending race winner Brian Vickers qualified third. Joe Nemechek (No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Chevrolet), David Reutimann (No. 00 MWR), Jacques Villeneuve (No. 27 BDR Toyota), John Andretti (BAM Racing Dodge) and Dale Jarrett (MWR Toyota) all qualified in the top eight. Busch dominated the Pennsylvania 500 from start to finish, earning his first Nextel Cup Series victory in more than a year and in the process put him in contention ? at least for now ? for a second series championship.He also set a NASCAR record, leading 174 of the 200 laps. Jeff Gordon held the record, leading 164 laps on the way to a win in July 1998. Aug 01, 2007 Kurt Busch (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge) and Penske Racing teammate Ryan Newman (No. 12 Mobil 1 Dodge) have their teams moving in the right direction in the series standings currently 13th and 14th respectively. Dale Earnhardt Jr. (No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet) sits on the bubble, 13 points ahead of Busch and 59 ahead of Newman. Neither Newman nor Busch made the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup last season.   But this season may be a different story. Newman heads to Pocono with a 2003 win at the track and five top-five finishes, including a runner-up finish earlier this season.
