IPL final match similar to the Lagaan Win
2008-06-03 21:55:00 Aamir Khan couldn?t have asked for a better coincidence. The thriller of a finale between Team Rajasthan and Team Chennai ended with a heart stopping win for the Rajasthan Royals. The situation had reached to the point where Rajasthan had to get one run from one ball to win the match. The entire country?s eyes was on Sohail Tanwir and he dint disappoint. He won the game and was hugged and hoisted up by his team members?.which makes us draw parallels with Aamir Khan?s character Bhuvan in Lagaan. Bhuvan?s Champaner team was underdogs just like Rajasthan Royals. No one expected Rajasthan Royals to qualify, let alone win. Shane Warne did a Bhoovan in the IPL. And Aamir couldn?t help feeling proud! Like I said, Aamir couldn?t have asked for a better coincidence.

2007-09-09 07:36:00 "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan", from the studio who brought us Evangelion and FLCL (Gainax), is currently the hottest anime in Japan - and in the USA as soon as the R1 DVD is released by ADV films. There are over 18 episodes in Japan and it wasn't long before it was acquired for US release (after 10 episodes). Gurren Lagaan is about a boy who lives underground and works for a living digging holes, until he finds an important looking relic that will change his life forever... I have not seen many episodes to know what is really going on. With the show being licensed, it is hard to find older episodes. The only alternative is to look on one those -Tube websites, provided the episodes are still there.
