2008-01-06 18:40:00 Preparations are well under way for the sixth Royal Langkawi International Regatta 2008 (RLIR 2008) to be held from 5 -11th January 2008 at the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club (RLYC) in Kuah, Langkawi.The RLIR 2008 will see a bigger and more exciting line up of yachts and to date, between 35 to 40 yachts have already registered or expressed interest in participation.The regatta committee expects to see an exciting challenge in the Racing Class this year as 10 boats are expected to participate, with 6 having registered already. The IRC Class has received 6 confirmed participation while the Sport Boat Class is expected to see 8-10 entrants. In the Multihull Class, 4 Multihull and 1 Firefly have registered to date. The dates for the Le Tour remain unchanged and will be staged from Feb 9 to 17, 2008.The Minister of Youth and Sports, Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said will be informed of the minor changes to the route.“The organising committee considered all the views and was unanimous in its decision to slightly amend the route. 2007-12-28 14:34:00 One of the places in Malaysia that I still like to visit (despite being there many times) is Langkawi Island. There are loads and loads of beach activities that you can enjoy. Nearby Cenang Beach is the Langkawi Underwater World. I’ve been there numerous times and I have seen many improvisations and now there are more fishes there and also the Rockhopper Penguins. They certainly do get all the attention especially from childrens who would gawk and wished that they could touch the penguins. Anyway, I do find the display of freshwater fish from the Amazon more interesting. There are many accomodations in Langkawi Island and my personal favourite would be the Mutiara Burau Bay (I must stress that this is not an AD). It is definitely far from the busy Kuah town but not too far from the airport though. I find the place very peaceful and relaxing.However, if you are looking for some fun at night, then it would be better if you stay at Cenang Beach. There are many accomodations locat...

It was a very exhaustive trip but a memorable one.First day, buy ferry ticket and waiting for the ferry to arrive. It took about 1 and a half hour for us to reach the Langkawi Island.After that, my dad rent a car and we went straight to our hotel. Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort and Spa. That was the first time we can enjoy 5 star hotel thanx to Uncle Aziz. We check in around 2.30 and just relaxing and chatting with Uncle Lan and Uncle Aziz.On the evening, we enjoy the scenery at the beach side, walking, chatting, laughing and collecting seashells.At night, we going for dinner at unknown place. It a nice place to eat but lots of mosquito there. Sebanyak 22 pasukan bertanding dalam kejohanan kali ini yang mengandungi 10 peringkat perlumbaan.Malaysia diwakili oleh Pasukan Berbasikal Le Tua yang diketuai oleh Anuar Manan, Pasukan Kebangsaan Malaysia yang diketuai oleh Suhardi Hassan dan Pasukan Pembangunan MNCF yang diketuai oleh Amir Mustafa.
