Larry Johnson and Julisa get engaged?
2008-05-14 22:30:00 A snitch close to the couple has reportedly said:Word is NFL?er Larry Johnson and his longtime girlfriend Julissa Bermudez (formerly of 106 & Park) got engaged over the weekend. The couple (pictured above at a bday party last year) have reportedly been together for about 3 years. Peep what an anonymous CL tipster sent us:Don?t know if you already reported this or not but Larry Johnson & Julissa got engaged this weekend. I was in Vegas and on Saturday night me and my girls went to PURE nightclub. On the flat screens they had in the club, they had pictures of Julissa and Larry from when they were really young to the time when they became a couple. Under the pictures it said Congratulations Larry and Julissa & the DJ kept giving they shout outs. Larry looked extremely happy and was dancing on tables all night. Julissa was by the DJ both just chillin?. But when they night was over, they were all hugged up on each other. It was really cute!

2008-04-29 18:05:00 BET’s Julissa Bermudez and Kansas City Chief’s player Larry Johnson were spotted vacationing in Barbados yesterday! Some of ya’ll stan for Larry Johnson hard! SCOOP OF THE DAY
2008-02-11 19:46:00 Green Bay Packer Ryan Grant & Kansas City Chief Larry Johnson{ Share the Same Uterus}Latoya Graham and Larry Johnson were an item or whatever. As a matter of fact, a short while back there was some stuff in the media about Johnson strikin? a woman. Well Latoya was that chick. They eventually patched it up and got her a place in the Hamptons. Things didn?t stay lovely for too long so she ended up partin?. Now enters Ryan Grant. Heard shorty was at his playoff games and all that. Green Bay is done and Grant is NY and word is that they are out here pretty tough. Now the gamble is that this lady is bout 6 months pregnant with Johnson?s child. Not sure what Grant is thinking in this situation but Johnson?s current wifey don?t have a clue. L.J. is seeing Julissa, the skinny cutie from BET and she is in the dark about a baby on the way from his previous flame. What?s even funnier is that L.J. doesn?t know about Ryan Grant. The two parents to be are attempting to stay somewhat together ...

Victor Comras & Larry Johnson Debate the New NIE & Iran
2007-12-05 05:00:00 Several of the CTB Contributing Experts and I periodically participate in an email discussion on CT issues, hosted by Philip "Rick" Henika, with others including former CIA and State Department official Larry Johnson. Today, after Rick sent Larry Johnson's analysis of the new NIE on the Iranian nuclear situation as posted on his "No Quarter" website, Victor Comras engaged Larry in an e-mail debate on the NIE and the broader question of the threat posed by Iran. The two have graciously agreed to let...(read more)
Larry Johnson Birthday Celebration Photos
2007-11-20 20:44:00 I’m normally not the type to post random photos for no reason unless theres something funny (check!) or a good looking woman (check!), so I present to you, Larry Johnson’s 28th birthday bash photos. I’d strongly question Larry’s sexuality wearing that shirt had he not been standing next to his girlfriend Julissa Bermudez. Julissa was ...

Kansas City Chiefs: Priest Holmes & Larry Johnson
2007-10-25 18:20:00 Yahoo!'s football writer Mike Silver had some interesting insight's into the Kansas City Chiefs' locker room in his On The Run column on Monday. In it, an unnamed Chiefs' veteran is quoted saying negative things about Johnson's pass-blocking. Ty Law went on record with quotes about Holmes making the defense stand-up, and Tony Gonzlaez questioned everything. In a week that has seen top 5 Rb Joseph Addai lose carries to CFL refugee Kenton Keith, the possibility of another Top 5 RB, Larry Johnson, losing carries has to be taken seriously. However, I am not sold on Holmes quite yet. Jason Whitlock of the Kansas City Star offers a contrary opinion to all the "happiness" expressed by Holmes' return.I don't dislike Priest Holmes. For reasons I do not know, I believe he intentionally tries to confuse people, particularly the news media, coaches and front-office executives. That is his right. For that reason, I believe virtually nothing that comes out of his mouth. I...

Ladanian Tomlinson and Larry Johnson Traded!
2007-10-05 18:34:00 After weeks of wondering what one could expect in a trade for a top flight rusher, running backs Ladanian Tomlinson and Larry Johnson have been traded! I'm as surprised as anyone. My sense of the market was the difficulty in dealing any starting RB was so great because almost no trade could be consumated without the team acquiring the RB paying through the nose. Here are the trades. Ladanian Tomlinson Trade : WR Reggie Brown QB Steve McNair TE Owen Daniels for RB Shaun Alexander WR Roy Williams QB Brian Greise TE Alge Crumpler Larry Johnson Trade: RB Larry Johnson QB Vince Young TE Heath Miller for RB Laurence Maroney QB Eli Manning The first deal offers some idea of what Tomlinson would cost in a fantasy football trade - a Top 10 RB and WR along with a slight upgrade at TE and QB. I suspect an upgrade at K would substitute for either the TE or QB. This certainly supports my assessment of the price of a starting RB upgrade. The sec...

The Best Worst Team Money Can Buy
2007-09-26 16:06:00 There have more than a few offensive players in the NFL who have underperformed thus far, much to the chagrin of fans and fantasy football players.Three weeks into the season, as the first bye week is among us, it seems like an appropriate time to delve into the realm of repugnant play, and devise a team of the underachieving.QB - Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints: To fully comprehend his awfulness, there is but one stat you need to know. Of the 34 QB's who have started at least two games this year, only two have a worse QB rating than Brees - Rex Grossman and Tavaris Jackson. Brees' stands at 57.1, while Sexy Rexy's is 45.2 and the injured Jackson's is 40.0.Brees' 1 touchdown throw means his TD% (percentage of passes thrown for a TD) is .8%. Only the injured J.P. Losman is worse, with a 0.0 TD%. Even Joey Harrington has a 2.1 TD%. Being compared with Grossman, Jackson, Losman and Harrington is not company Mr. Brees should be keeping.RB - Maurice Jones-Drew, Jacksonville Jaguars: ...

Robert Ferguson, Larry Johnson, and a Manning gets on my nerves
2007-08-22 22:55:00 More NFL news, this time with happy landings for a few players. Larry Johnson, RB, KC -- Johnson finally signed a contract extension which gives him the big money he's wanted. So everything is fine now, time to draft LJ #2 overall right? Nope. He still has a rookie quarterback, a patched up offensive line and is coming off a season where he had an NFL record 416 carries. Let me say that again because it's worth repeating: Nobody in the history of the NFL had as many carries in a season as Johnson had last season. I still don't like him as the #2 or #3 overall pick, and in PPR leagues I could see him slip out of the top five. Robert Ferguson, WR, Minnesota -- The longtime Packer and longtime injury list resident signed a contract with the Vikings. It seems as though Ferguson has been in the league forever, but he's only 27 years old. That's significant because 27 is the age that players tend to break out with big seasons. No, wait...

On the Rise: Larry Johnson
2007-08-21 22:47:00 That sound you heard this afternoon was thousands of fantasy football owners breathing sighs of relief at once. The Associated Press has reported that Kansas City Chiefs RB Larry Johnson has ended his holdout and has debuted at Chiefs' training camp. This news is like music to fantasy owners ears, particularly to those who drafted Johnson with a first round pick. Those particular owners have been waiting anxiously for weeks, wondering if they might have made the most bone-headed move in fantasy sports history. But now they can rest assured. LJ is back and is practically a lock to put up solid numbers once again. As for owners yet to draft, make sure Larry's at least at number 3 on your cheat sheets. Don't believe the things your hear about him being overworked or about the sad state of his team's O-line or about him missing so much time this summer. Those things don't override his talent and potential. Just think of his holdout as an extended rest for his multi-million dollar leg...

Forget about Larry Johnson
2007-08-14 15:59:00 All hopes of running back Larry Johnson joining the Green Bay Packers have all but been dashed.According to the Kansas City Star, "Multiple sources said Monday that the Chiefs and Johnson had narrowed their once considerable differences over terms of a contract extension and a deal could be struck sometime this week."The Packers may not abandoned all hopes of a trade, though. The running back and tight end situations are grim enough that a trade may not be out of the question. And the fact that the Packers have $13 million under the salary cap only sweetens a possible deal. The longer the Packers wait, though, the tougher it is to make a deal. No team wants to wait until the regular season begins to make a trade. Any player coming into a new environment needs the training camp experience to acclimate to the new atmosphere.Welcome to the Railbird feed. Eat up.
Waiting for a blockbuster
2007-08-10 22:06:00 Well, Larry Johnson is still holding out in Kansas City Chiefs camp. And the Green Bay Packers could still use him. They not only could use him, but they could also use safety Greg Wesley as well. And he's on the trading block.According to the Sporting News, "The Broncos have pursued S Greg Wesley for most of the offseason, but the Chiefs have opted not to make him available - yet. Kansas City appears hesitant to deal with a division rival and wants to gauge the camp progress of second-year player Bernard Pollard before parting with Wesley, its insurance policy. Something still could materialize, however: Denver has a surplus of veterans at defensive end, where the Chiefs could use more depth."Well, if the Broncos don't want to deal a defensive end, the Green Bay Packers have a Pro Bowl defensive end sitting on their bench. Trading away Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila could get the Packers a little bit of Greg Wesley and a lot of Larry Johnson. So how do the Packers sweeten the deal? KGB for ...
Who Will Be Running in Kansas City? [Michael Vinciguerra]
2007-08-09 09:01:00 All-Pro RB Larry Johnson is currently on holdout for the starting position on the Kansas City Chiefs. Three-time pro bowler Priest Holmes, who has not played football since 2005 as a result of what many called a career ending injury, has returned from intense rehab and made a statement challenging Larry Johnson. The bottom line is if Johnson does not want the starting role, Holmes will gladly fill his shoes.Johnson has been a no-show at camp as he seeks an extension to the seven-year contract he inked in 2003, which he can void down to a five-year deal after the final game of the 2007 season because of playing time incentives. The Chiefs, however, have other ideas. If anything, they plan to utilize Holmes solely as a situational back and I can completely agree with their decision. After all, he is still on the physically unable to perform list. Even though he returned to the practice field wearing pads, took handoffs, and absorbed hits, does Holmes honestly expect coach Herm Edwards ...

Larry Johnson rumors heat up
2007-07-13 20:27:00 Rumors of the Green Bay Packers acquiring Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson in a trade began just before April's draft and have yet to go away entirely.Lance Allen of Milwaukee's NBC affiliate, WTMJ, predicts that the Packers have about a 20% chance to obtain Johnson.Allen doesn't go into specifics but writes, "I'm told that the Packers are keeping a very close eye on the Larry Johnson situation in Kansas City."The Packers have among the most available salary cap room in the entire NFL and could afford to lock up Johnson for the next several years.Former Packers exec George Koonce hinted a couple weeks ago that the Packers were going to acquire a big-name offensive player. So who's the "big name"?
2007-06-27 17:16:00 Outgoing Green Bay Packers director of player development George Koonce says that the Packers are going to add a "big name" on offense prior to training camp according to his comments on a Milwaukee radio show.So who's it going to be?Michael David Smith over at Pro Football Talk mentioned a couple of possible has-beens in Keyshawn Johnson, Daunte Culpepper, and Corey Dillon. Our very own Joe Davis says it should be Larry Johnson.Perhaps the best rumor may be offered at Packer Update when a source for the site suggests, "Fans might want to keep a very close eye on L.J. Smith (pictured). There are already rumblings that Ted Thompson will go hard after the former Rutgers star should he make it to free agency next March.?Smith is currently a tight end for the Philadelphia Eagles who is set to become a free agent next season. But could a trade be in the works yet this season?Photo credit: The Associated Press

2007-06-27 16:33:00 Railbird Central is glad to add a new voice to our website as we welcome Joe Davis to our staff.Davis comes to us from Los Angeles. And in a story all Packer backers will love, Mr. Davis became a Packer fan in 1999 after he became disenfranchised when both the Rams and Raiders had left L.A. He turned to a team that would never leave home. The Green Bay Packers.ArmchairGM and Talking LA Sports are a couple of the places Davis has previously written.Davis has already written his first column for us. Take a look as he thinks that the Packers should still pursue Kansas City running back Larry Johnson. It even has some fans over in Kansas City riled up.Welcome aboard.

Pack must add Larry Johnson
2007-06-27 00:10:00 Okay, ?must? may be a little bit too strong of a word, but the Green Bay Packers would be making a big mistake by not trading for the Kansas City Chiefs' disgruntled running back, Larry Johnson.Last season, Johnson led the Chiefs to a 9-7 record and a playoff birth in the tough AFC conference. He was the team?s go-to guy and shouldered much of the offensive burden. Outside of Johnson, the Chiefs were a collection of average offensive players. They were quarterbacked by the inexperienced Damon Huard and the veteran Trent Green. Both players struggled throughout the season, failing to average more than 200 yards passing per game. The receiving corpse was also average as it was headed by Eddie Kennison and Samie Parker. Together, they just combined for 6 touchdowns and 1,421 receiving yards. By comparison Green Bay's number one receiving target, Donald Driver, was five yards shy of 1,300 yards and also pulled in eight touchdowns. With Johnson in the backfield the Cheifs' offense was...
Larry Johnson has some Issues:
2007-06-26 20:25:00 Former BET VJ Julissa Bermudez was spotted smooching her boo Larry Johnson at Jill Scott's Real Thing Cocktail reception in NYC last thursday. Word is she may be potential victim waiting to happen. Her boo maybe all smiles and cordial but Larry Johnson has an extensive history of domestic violence dating back to 2004 where he was facing some major charges but fortunately for his sake he struck a deal with prosecutors to avoid domestic abuse charges alleging that he slapped a woman and threatened her with a handgun.
Packer supposedly to bring in "Big name"
2007-06-26 17:13:00 George Koonce, who recently left the Green Bay Packer front office for an administrative job at Marquette University, has created a monster that has taken on a life of its own when he said during a radio interview that the Packers were going to bring in a "big name."Koonce's comments came on Milwaukee's "The Gary and Cliff Show" heard on WSSP (AM-1250).Koonce is quoted as saying, "The offseason's not over with quite yet, so don't be surprised if ... a big name (comes) in before training camp."Koonce said that it would be an offensive player, but declined to give any furthur information.Koonce added, "I'm not going to spill the beans, but ... I sniffed around a little bit before I left."Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk.com suggests, "Wide receiver/ESPN analyst Keyshawn Johnson, soon-to-be-available Dolphins quarterback Daunte Culpepper and Chiefs running back Larry Johnson were the first names that came to mind."Former Patriots running back Corey Dillon has been mentioned ...
COULD JULISSA BE A VICTIM?!
2007-06-25 23:55:00 Former BET VJ Julissa Bermudez was spotted smooching her boo Larry Johnson at Jill Scott's Real Thing Cocktail reception in NYC last thursday. Now call me crazy but I'm little concerned for Julissa. Maybe it's just me but no matter how fine and wealthy a dude maybe his dating & behavioral history is vital! I just hope Julissa ain't foolishly in love to withstand some bitchslappin'...I'm just sayin'. |
