Been getting some rain lately...
2007-06-17 13:31:00 We've been getting some rain lately in the afternoons all over Kona. They even had pretty good rains at the airport on Wednesday and Thursday eves, the airport might see 10-15 inches of rain a year. Today was quite nice though, although we've got north winds (I haven't watched the news lately, but it's probably from whatever front brought in the rain).Thought I'd put up a little manta update since I haven't posted one in a while. They apparently had three tonight. It's been pretty darned good the last few weeks. We went out the middle of last week and had 8-10 on the dive, and it hasn't let off much since, although tonight's number was a bit down. I've got a night charter planned for Tuesday on my friend's boat... can't wait 'til mine's finished with the rebuild. This eel is a Stout Moray (Gymnothorax eurostus). We see them relatively frequently on dives here, although not with the frequency of a few of our other species of eels. They're not as large as some, th...
Johnny Come Lately - America?s Got Talent
2007-06-14 19:40:00 Johnny Come Lately is a band of 15 year old teenagers from Claremont California. I must admit, their “unconventional” take on Elvis Presley’s Hounddog is really something else. After their performance the crowd went wild. Jerry Springer said “Superb! Phenomenal!” Piers Morgan said “I gotta be honest that is absolutely brilliant!”. David Hasselhoff said “You guys ...

2007-06-14 02:00:00 WalMarting a museum for ArkansasLately, with a rare exception here and there, it has become very fashionable among art writers, bloggers and critics to demonize the efforts of Alice Walton?s no nonsense, robber-baroness approach to give the people of Bentonville, Arkansas a world class collection of art.Regardless of how one feels about Ms. Walton?s wealth (she's the 20th richest person on the planet) and approach to buying art, Bentonville (population: 29,538) is not a place in which many people live, much less visit, and practically no one in the art world cares about. But needless to say, flyover states deserve a look at America's art historical tradition, too. But other than an infectious and personal dislike by these writers for Ms. Walton?s approach, the barely hidden implication in their written words is that metropolitan areas like Seattle, Washington, Forth Worth, Texas, and St. Louis, Missouri - places that people will visit - are more natural and deserving destinations f...

The Reaping - seen any spontaneously combusting pictures lately?
2007-06-06 17:26:00 It's been my third trip to the theatre to see Pirates of the Caribbean 3 with no luck, every time I have gone it has been sold out. I was being treated to a movie by a co-worker and there was no way I was going to let that pass so I decided to choose a random flick from the board in the 5pm time slot, after all I had a choice of 4 films in 5 theaters (Pirates was being shown in two). I've already seen Spiderman 3 (crap) and Shrek the Third (disappointing), so guess what was left? The Reaping. I am not a horror movie fan, mainly because lately most of them have been nothing but a gore exhibition, but I remembered seeing a trailer for the Reaping some months back and thought it was interesting. Without divulging to much of the plot, in one corner you have a female ordained Christian minister who lost her husband and child who were sacrificed to appease the gods :D, in another corner you have a black man with more bullet wholes that pores, but thankfully as is the norm with black pe...

2007-05-31 14:06:00 I thought I noticed a drop in spam recently. This may be the reason. Mr Soloway has pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Prosecutors say Mr Soloway became one of ...

Has Britney Spears been sucking Lemon lately!!
2007-05-11 16:08:00 I’M fully aware of BRITNEY SPEARS’ bizarre sense of style. But why is the former pop princess pulling such a funny face in this picture? Join in my just-for-fun caption competition and see if you can come up with the wittiest line. Last week, I had a picture of PAMELA ANDERSON cuddling a furry bunny rabbit. The winner of that comp was oldham with “When I said: ‘I have no man, get me a rabbit’, this is not what I had in mind!” Other worthy entries include alibopding with “Pammi advertises her new range of underwear, the peep hole bunny bra” and Moidiaro’s “Oh how I scoffed when they said all that sun oil would put hairs on my chest.” Click on the link below to see more Sun readers’ hilarious celeb captions.

What's with all the water lately?
2007-05-08 21:23:00 BioShock with it's team dedicated to water effects, that resulted in a game with stunning effects and now Blade Interactive has announce a game for the 360 and ps3 named Hydrophobia that is a survival adventure game taking place on a futuristic cruise ship. While they mention alot about their Ai and how great the game will look the most facinating thing i find is that after bioshock and dark sector both boasted to having the best most realistic and beautiful water ever. (And bioshock pretty much proved it). Thank god these games are on the 360, if they were on PC the world would surely all require a computer memory upgrade. Now we have Blade saying that the HydroEngine that hydrophobia will be using will deliver the most realistic water EVER SEEN!. The question comes down to which do you think looks better? :) Anyway heres a few shots of hydrophobia. Source: Spong

Have You Checked Your Insulation Lately???
2007-05-01 16:14:00 Sometimes living in Florida, we tend to forget the importance of insulation in our home or one we are contemplating purchasing, because we equate insulation with loss of heat and not air. Lately
2007-04-20 16:00:00 I?m a pretty punctual person. I get the kids to school on time, I show up at church ten minutes before the service starts, I have dinner on the table when Andrew shows up at 6:00pm. I do my washing on Mondays and Fridays, plan my menu on Wednesdays so I can shop on Thursdays and clean the house on Fridays. I?m like clockwork. But lately I?ve been behind. Five minutes here, ten or fifteen there, as I rush from activity to activity, putting extra miles on the car and never quite ready for the next item on my list. I'm showing up late to nearly everything, forgetting appointments, rushing around till I'm ready to toss my Palm out the window. It starts early when my alarm goes off at 6:40 (or doesn?t go off at all) and my day picks up from there. My planner is starting to resemble a flight information board at an airport with its tightly spaced lists of arrivals and departures only my board is littered with "flight canceled" and "flight delayed" notices.Once a flight gets delayed ...

What have you done for me lately?
2007-04-06 11:13:00 So today, in my final RWA post for the week (but I'm sure not ever), I want to talk about what the RWA does and does not do, and how I think and feel about it. And stuff. Actually, I just woke up and my mind is still a little fuzzy, but we're going out today and I don't know when we'll be back, so I want to get this in before we go. (Plus, I have had a pork roast in the oven since last night, slow roasting, and it smells so good and I can't wait for dinner, but it means that when I get home I'll be chopping potatoes and parsnips to roast and making gravy and all that stuff. So busy. But I'll have time to read and reply to comments.)Anyway.Smart Bitches posted today about the RWA again, and the good things they do. It's quite an interesting post, and the comments trail is even more so (it's all here for your reading pleasure).I have some thoughts on why it is that RWA, an organization run by and largely peopled with women, seems to worry so much more about inclusion and who...
Flea Hasn?t Been Himself Lately
2007-04-05 15:09:00 Flea, bassist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, has been plagued by an imposter, who has weaseled his way into Flea's MySpace page and is leaving "racist and insulting and disgusting" messages under the guise of Flea's identity. Flea - real name Michael Balzary - writes, "I do not want to give the name of this idiot's website and grant him an iota of dignity that he/she does not deserve. "Please know that I am doing what it takes to get him to stop carrying on in this way." This just perfectly illustrates something that has recently happened to me--well, actually, it might have been going on for some time now. Basically, somebody's been hacking into my posts here, as well as my MySpace page. Pretty much, they're the ones you can blame any time I've written something unfunny or offensive. I've yet to find them out, so it might even be happening right now...in this post.
TT: Things I've Been Putting Off Lately
2007-04-05 10:31:00 I'm such a big procrastinator. I never do things straight away. It's a habit I've been trying to break, but very unsuccessfully. Here's my latest list of 'to do another day'1. Blogging. I don't what's been going on lately, but I just haven't been in the mood for it. Plus my creativity levels are at an all time low. I'm working on it. I think more sunshine is just what I need!2. Reading blogs/commenting. All I can say is SORRY!3. Emailing. I probably should have just written 'all things computer-related' but I've always been a bit long-winded :)4. Housework. I'm sure this would be on everyone's lists, right? At the moment, I still have three loads of laundry to do, the bedlinen to be changed, the hoovering to be done upstairs, the kitchen floor to be swept and the dusting. Sigh. Possibly some ironing.5. Going to playgroups. I feel bad about this one, because everytime we go, Elliot has a fantastic time, but all the other mothers are so distant and unfriendly, it puts m...

Just a typical 4-year-old's day. Sigh. There's nothing that beats being at home with her...NOTHING.

It?s been so sunny in Paris lately that I?ve been ...
2007-03-12 20:45:00 It?s been so sunny in Paris lately that I?ve been waking up early. When I got up this morning, a perceptible haze had set in. The sky was bright and there wasn?t a cloud in sight, but to the North and East, the sky was thick and brown. It?s actually been remarkably warm here the past few weeks ? I?d been warned all autumn what a terrible time February would be in the city, but the month passed in blue skies and sunny days. Today it was so warm that I didn?t need a jacket walking to class ? a tee shirt and thin cotton cardigan were more than sufficient. With beautiful days that stretch longer and longer by the week, comes the annual revelation that yes, Paris is a beautiful, but dirty and polluted city. Indeed, the view from the top of the basilisque de Sacre Coeur is a breathtaking panorama of the city, but more often than not shows a rather hazy view, with the outer arondissements fading into nothing. This is about as good as it gets:The most polluted street in the city is rue d...
[MADzone] - Just been thinking lately!!
2007-03-09 02:33:05 [MADzone] - Just been thinking lately!! Well, recently i have my mind spinning all around thinking about my current situation… Either keep on proceeding with making post on daily basis or maybe when i feel so? Looking on several months back, its just that i can feel my spirits has flush away just like water going down the drain!! During this time, while sitting here on the chair!! i try to find the most niche way of making traffics toward my main site and blog…. many said that the easiest way are by using Google Adsense or maybe Chitika and so on… Sometimes i just feel like quiting all this thing even though i know that money can be generate if i keep on doing this. Being lack of capital and what so ever, have drag me to this highly potential death end of loosing focus!! still, i will stand and fight to the end of my imaginations and dreams!! My main mission is to make one portal what differ from other… different concept and approach!! I like to manage it i...

Have You Reviewed Your Mortgage Lately?
2007-03-01 03:05:03 With the mortgage rates again coming down, now might be an excellent time to review your current mortgage to see where you stand and whether it currently fits your needs. This past week, there was a dramatic drop in the rates, following a nearly two month rise. The 30–year benchmark dropped 11 basis points, (a basis point is one-hundredth of 1 percentage point), standing at 6.31%. It seems that the FED has shifted their attitude a bit at the end of January, when they left the short-term rates unchanged, feeling sustained inflation pressure. Bankers will tell you that you should assess you mortgage and ciscumstances annually, and now would be a good time, especially if you have an adjustable-rate mortgage. In 2007, many of the 3/1 and 5/1 ARMs will be re-setting. Some will adjust as much as 5 percent, which will make a huge impact on a monthly payment. If someone is paying an interest-only payment, that can mean that, with the adjustment, their payment will doubl...

So my dream to get another ibook is nearer. Furthermore, I realize my traffic has become more and more lately. Since I have been posting entry regularly. This of course will also increase my links in search engine too. The best thing was…Did you know that PPP only charges a 35% service fee compared to ReviewMe that charges a 100% markup? This really save so much. They are taking half of our money for every post! So we can get high paying opps more often and put more in...

2007-02-13 16:34:00 Lately I have been all busy busy busy. An inspection at the school meant lots of rules and regulations had to be learnt word perfect. An obsession with the gym has helped me drop 8lbs without having to diet (which is excellent) Massive amounts of the white stuff literally meant having to ski in the car to the school to get the kids and wheel spin all the way home (which was fun ) and half term this week means having two bored kids moping around the house like they dont own a single toy!!Last weekend was Ethans birthday and his party was at the local wetlands - which lived up to its name because it tipped down the entire time. In the end I couldnt have cared less if the ducks were hungry because it was blowing a gale and I was getting soaked. Ooo I just upgraded to the new blogger - isnt it much easier and quicker to add pictures - about bloody time I say.Devastatingly I shall be 31 on Sunday - How time flies when your having fun eh!?!

2006-10-28 00:26:00 I've been wondering lately about the point of things. No, don't worry, I;m not about to treat you to an in-depth philosophical discussion on the point of life, and the futility of what we do- I'm FAR too drunk to do that, and besides, I'm thinking in more specific terms (specifically, as ever, relationships).I guess I've found myself in a somewhat bizarre situation...

2004-07-02 16:31:00 Holy hell! I've really been busy lately, and my absence from the world of the internet is also partially because of the guys, who got off fragging... Until to tonight. They couldn't resist the call of Warcraft... *Hehe*I got a job offer from Nestle today... Yeah, THAT Nestle... And since I haven't started my practical yet... Yup, sad to say, I still can't make up my mind... Back to Nestle, the offer is quite good, (so's the pay) *Haha* Basically what we're required to do is complete a census. The job length is probably for two to three months, or maybe more, depending on how fast & well we do the job. Wish me luck.Don't know when again I'll be able to blog, most likely not as frequently as before? I don't know, I really hope not. I miss blogging! So much has been going on after the camp.(Man, I haven't even finished talking about it yet even)... Right now, mostly it's about me experiencing trouble with my love life. (Don't know if I can say I even have one)... Yeah, yeah... |
