The vigil, which was part of a nationwide movement sponsored by the left-leaning MoveOn.org, attracted a variety of protesters, from liberal Democrats to supporters of the anti-war Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul of Texas. "We're trying to send a message to Congress that the war has to stop," said Dianne Rhodes, from Naples, who organized the vigil.
