After a tremendous pitching effort in game one, the Boston Red Sox have seen two terrible outings. One, of course, was from the injured and hurting Josh Beckett. And the second was from Mr. Dependable, dependable until yesterday. Jon Lester gave up five runs in only 5 2/3 innings as the Red Sox went down to Tampa Bay by a score of 9-1. It was 5-0 after Tampa Bay's top half of the third, and I'm sorry to say, against Matt Garza, it was over. Finished. Gone. Garza worked six full, giving up only one earned run on six hits, walking three but striking out five. Jon Lester recorded his 15th quality start of the year Wednesday night at Fenway Park as the Red Sox pummeled Texas pitching once again in an 8-4 victory. (AP Photo) Yesterday as I sat in Ticketmaster hell trying to get tickets to Game 2 of the Celtic Eastern Conference Finals I decided that since I wasn't going to be able to go to the C's game, I might as well piggy back with a couple of my friends who were already going to the Sox game (Krazy Kris & Dr. J). The night started off fairly inconspicuous as we headed over to Cornwall's in Kenmore Square after work to get some grub and shoot some pool. I bounced early because I still didn't have a ticket and scalped a grandstand seat in Section 24 for face value.
