If you a listener, read this :)
2008-02-18 12:16:00 Sometimes, people like to share a problem or story with you. Why because they believe in you, do appreciate them. Don't simply tell to anybody or everyone, because I think this is not good. Help someone who need you. Sometimes the same problem will happen to us. If this happen to me, what should i do ? It is hard to think. There is a time, when we hear someone problem, we like to advice him but we do not know how, what is the words that suitable to them ? Just listen what are they try to tell you. It is enough. :-)

Great Leaders are Great Listeners
2007-12-11 23:54:00 "When people talk, listen completely. Most people never listen." -Ernest Hemingway, American Writer, Ernest Hemingway books// Listening is the most respectful act one person can do toward another. It signifies that you value the other person's opinion, and it enhances their feelings of significance. By listening, you can better understand both what that person is trying to tell you and what he or she needs from you. Listening leads to dialogue, where each addition to the communication or conversation advances the objective of it toward a definite end. As Hemingway says, most people don't listen at all though - they simply wait for their turn to talk. This turns dialogue into... the bbc co-produces radio show with listeners
2007-11-15 23:14:00 iPM is an interesting development from the BBC; a radio show and podcast that's shaped by the listeners. Here's how they describe it. "iPM is a weekly programme as well as a podcast. The “i” stands for interactive and “i” as in something personal. You can discuss ideas with the production team on this blog and during the course of the week you can view and comment on stories that are being lined up for Saturday's programme. We’ll source what we do through the best blogs, passionate 'ear catching' online debate as well as comments and recommendations of others. So what ends up on air will be shaped by listeners and bloggers. iPM is an experiment. It’ll take advantage of the huge number of conversations and sources that take place every minute of every day. Our intention is to distil the very best and produce the type of programme that you'll find interesting and engaging. We'll be as transparent as we can about the ideas ...

Timely Repost: Boy, Radio Listeners Are Gullible
2007-10-30 15:23:00 On this day in 1938, the original episode of ?Punked? aired on CBS Radio?s ?Mercury Theater on the Air.? Well, it was something like that. Orson Welles? aired his production of H.G. Wells? ?War of the Worlds.? (Boy that?s great alliteration, isn?t it? Welle?s version of Wells? War of the Worlds. Well, I think I said that wonderfully, it sounds so whimsical...) Despite the introduction by Welles saying that it was a radio adaptation, most people tuned in late and actually thought the Martian invasion was real. The only difference between what Orson Welles did that day and current reality TV is that he adapted a story from a book and made it up so it sounded real while reality TV is real and looks so made up. Except of course for Dirty Jobs. You just can't recreate poo like that.Oh, to have that type of gullibility amongst us today. Back in ?38, people all over the east coast panicked, took to the highways to flee the Martian landing area and there were even reports of suicides. N...

Good Listener Secrets - Listen with Your Heart
2007-10-19 14:00:00 For instrumental music while reading, choose: hi-fi (broadband) or low-fi. When someone is talking to you, do you hear with your ears, monitor with your mind, or listen with your heart? Listening skills are major contributors to the quality of our personal relationships. But, good listeners are hard to find. Invest a few minutes thinking about the importance of listening well – a deliberate conscious act – and watch your relationships grow to a new level of closeness and understanding. “Listening is a magnetic and strange thing, a creative force. When we really listen to people there is an alternating current, and this recharges us so that we never get tired of each other. We are constantly being re-created.” - Brenda Ueland We Don’t Have Ear-lids Have you ever wondered why we don’t have ear-lids? When we’re tired of looking, we close our eyes. We can breathe through our mouth to stop the smell. The sense of taste can be turned off by keeping our mo...

Report says O'Reilly Factor viewers smarter than NPR listeners
2007-09-08 04:27:00 A new Pew Report Study found that O'Reilly watchers were smarter than NPR listeners as well as readers of the Daily Kos, Think Progress, and other blogs (except for Asymmetric, I'm sure). Limbaugh listeners almost bested NPR who eeked out a victory based on their ability to answer questions on Grey's Anatomy and The "L" Word. The breakdown is as follows: Non-serious people who prefer jokes to hard analysis knew more news details overall, but only because their lack of a sex life didn't interfere with late-night channel surfing. Thanks to Think Progress for the analysis.

Listener League Blog by Mitch
2007-03-28 21:40:00 (The 411 League Draft is at http://www.the411.mlbradiofans.-com/ ) I like my team. 2 years ago, when I ended up winning the league, I LOVED my team. More specifically about the actual draft, I was surprised that Beltran went at 12. I took him much earlier in the 411 mock draft. I had him ranked in the top half of the first round. Same for Lance Berkman, who went in the middle of the second round. Looking at the bottom of the draft board, though, it is remarkable how many pitchers were taken late. The GMs there really believe that pitching is a crap shoot and, so, many wait until the last few rounds to do it. The majority also use the wire for pitching. I am not quite the pitch-or-ditcher that many of the others are, but I do indulge once in a while. Last year, I got major kudos for controlling the draft with my corner picks. I started a run on closers and then started another run on catchers (I took Joe Mauer and then Jason Varit...

How to Be an Effective Listener
2007-02-24 19:36:00 Chapter 5 How to Be an Effective Listener The first four chapters discussed the need for effective listening, fallacies about listening, the process of listening, and the types of listening. They provided the background you need to improve your listening skills. This chapter is a prescriptive one. It offers practical suggestions on how to be a better listener. While there are many ways to construct a list of suggestions, we will consider them in terms of what works best in three major categories: 1. What you think about listening. 2. What you feel about listening. 3. What you do about listening. You can learn to listen effectively; look now at the components of that learning: thinking, feeling, doing. What You Think about Listening Although thinking, feeling, and doing go hand in hand, the thinking (or cognitive) domain of learning is perhaps the best place to begin. After all, effective listening takes effort—it requires maximum thinking power. Here are...
Podcast Listener ROI - Why Radio is Doomed
2007-02-13 18:18:02 I was in the rare circumstance of being without my iPod during my commute the other day. I decided to flip on the radio for a change. What I heard coming out of my car stereo was so foreign, and frankly so fowl, that I almost couldn’t believe my ears. Did I used to listen to this many commercials? How could anyone put up with this stuff today now that podcasts are so easy to get?! I really was shocked. If you gave up radio a long time ago in favor of your iPod, I would encourage you to go back to radio for just an hour or so. It’s utterly suffocating. I was so moved by this experience that I decided I would do a little experiment. I wanted to see exactly how much the radio was “jipping” us out of the real content that we tuned in for in the first place. Let me say up front that I’m no scientist and this hardly qualifies as a true experiment, but it’s interesting nonetheless. I basically listened to an hour of radio and an hour of a podcas...
