We are looking at the best, broadest way to deliver our information in any platform, including print, and we are looking at a couple of options on the print side, but we haven?t made any decisions, yet.Andelman: Let me ask you this: what kind of buttons can you push with your readers, and what buttons do you think you have to stay clea...

YouTube Debate vs. Live Earth Concert:
2007-07-25 19:26:00 I watched the CNN/YouTube Democratic debate earlier this week. While the politicians regurgitated their same old speaking points, I found the format of citizen questions to be refreshing and innovative. I'm looking forward to the Republican YouTube debate in the near future. As always, the most trenchant political analysis of the emerging techno-political culture can be found on comedycentral.com

Lyrics Quiz: Live Earth
2007-07-15 19:30:00 Two years ago today was the very first Lyrics Quiz I ever had here at the 9th Green. Actually it was two years and five days ago as the first quiz took place on the tenth before it moved to its regular spot on the fifteenth of each month. That very first quiz was taken from artist that performed during the Live 8 concerts and it is only apropos that on the anniversary of the Lyrics Quiz I would dedicate this month to another charity event, Live Earth. Certainly we can argue whether these concerts did any good but one thing I?m sure we can all agree on is that there was plenty of great music. So as customary of any Lyrics Quiz, please post your guesses, title and artist, in the comment section (or e-mail me) and if you are correct I will unbold the lyric and give you credit. Bonus points to anyone who guesses to the artist(s) who preformed the song at Live Earth if not done by the original artist. The Lyrics Quiz is for entertainment purposes only so please do not use anything beside...
LIVE EARTH Concert : The Most Watched Event In Online History
2007-07-14 22:42:00 On July 7, 2007, MSN made history. On that day, it delivered enough video streams of the Live Earth concerts that, according to Microsoft's records, made the event on MSN.com the "Most Watched Entertainment Event in Online History." "During the exclusive live coverage on MSN, more than 8 million people watched over 15 million streams, with peak simultaneous viewership of 237,000 people making it the most watched entertainment event in online history," Microsoft said in a press release. The company claims that, to date, more than 30 million people witnessed some portion of the event online. The peak simultaneous viewership was during Madonna's performance in London. While online viewership of the event was up, or record-setting for that matter, Live Earth suffered from poor television ratings. Nielsen Media Research is reporting that the event only drew in 2.7 million viewers making it the least watched program on Saturday night. During its three-hour time span, NBC's Live Earth...

Live Earth -make a difference or not?
2007-07-13 11:10:00 Due to the July 7 global Live Earth concerts, and the recent U.K-based concert to commemorate what would have been Princess Diana's 46th birthday, people are reminiscing about "Bandaid," "We Are the World" and other large-scale musical fundarisers of the past. You may have even been physically-present for such events. The point is efforts raised awareness about specific humane and environmental causes. Why is it that after a given event is over and money raised by selling tickets, CDs downloads, or whatever, that people tend to forget about the reasons why they supported the cause in the first place? Does this mean people don't take causes or their recent reactions very seriously?Madonna, who performed at Wembley Stadium as part of the Live Earth, thanked Al Gore "for giving the world the wake-up call it so badly needs and for starting an avalanche of awareness that we are running out of time". She added:...

TV Ratings: Al Gore vs. Soccer [J. Mark English]
2007-07-11 23:19:00 For someone who doesn't exactly buy into the 'global warming' hysteria, I found this bit from the Associated Press very amusing:Given a choice among the Police, John Mayer and Madonna on television or a summer's night out, millions of Americans chose the latter. The Live Earth concert, Al Gore's sprawling worldwide effort to raise environmental awareness, wasn't a big television draw. NBC's Saturday-night highlights show was seen by 2.75 million people, according to Nielsen Media Research, or fewer people than watched the soccer match between Argentina and Peru that night on Univision. The Live Earth showing is slightly under the 2.9 million who watched the Live 8 concert on ABC in 2005, Nielsen said.http://img68.imageshack.us-/my.php?image=amerlegendslogo5w-j.gif

Live Earth Redux
2007-07-11 01:39:00 There were a bunch of great performances at Live Earth but there is one that I have been listening to on repeat the last couple days and that is the new song that Alicia Keys unveiled during her set, That?s the Thing about Love. Unfortunately it looks like we will have to wait until late October until we can hear a more polished studio version when her new album is scheduled to drop, until then here is the YouTube version of the performance at Live Earth:It popped up over the weekend that there will be a best of the Live Earth album that will be put out in August which you can preorder on iTunes (if you do so you will get the John Mayer track now, also Metallica?s full set is available separately). Although there is currently no confirmed tracks (aside from Mayer?s) so here is my suggestion of the top twenty songs from the event (links go to YouTube):1.
