Left there and headed to Robbinsville to gas up, grab a sandwich and some Mt Dew's and headed back to the IronHorse. Doug Hines arrived at the same time I did on his R1200GS, he rode in from Arkansas. On 143 from Robbinsville back to 28, I passed a poke along white Ford SUV and no sooner had I passed him; I got to me Sheriff Moody of this lovely County. He walked up to the GS as I stepped off of it and he held out his hand to shake mine. He introduced himself & I did the same. He said "You are gonna take it easy aren't you?" to which I sounded off with a Yes Sir! He climbed back in the SUV and and turned into the next driveway that I passed. Damn nice fellow! 2008-02-10 18:12:00 Beaver Lodge for Green Thumb SundayGreen Thumb Sunday BlogrollHow to join Green Thumb SundayFor the last couple of weeks, I have been posting about a hike through a swamp, and about a tree that a beaver had gnawed down.This will be the last post on the beaver, I promise.The above image is of the beaver's house, or lodge.It looks like a mass of sticks just piled together in the water, but there is really quite a network that he has built under the water that we can't see.He places the trees just so, and the entrance to his home is nowhere near the lodge - it starts quite a ways from it - almost like a tunnel of sticks and trees under the water.He builds several of these tunnels - it is always nice to have an escape route if needed.Since this was out in the middle of the swamp, this was as close as I could get to it.Many years ago I stood on top of a lodge that was built right next to a dam that a beaver had also built.No camera at that time, but the underwater network he had built...

These pj’s will be part of a trial which is a first for the UK. The pj’s will come in four sizes and the whole outfit will consist of legging, top, gloves, socks and a facial mask. They are made from Derma-silk which is like a second skin. The fabrics allow the skin to breathe, helps to regulate body temperature in different conditions and maintain the moisture balance for the skin. 2008-02-05 03:49:00 HOW much is the fare from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Kuala Lumpur?If you are unlucky, you might end up paying RM700, as experienced by two couples from Ireland and Scotland. Maurreen Timmins, 51, from Ireland, arrived in KLIA from London with his wife and his friends, a couple from Scotland, yesterday at 7.30am for transit. They were to leave for Australia at 9.35pm. On arrival, they waited for their tourist agent from Fleet Holidays Sdn Bhd as the agency was supposed to arrange for transport and a hotel. However, they were approached by a well-dressed man claiming to be from the agency. He introduced himself as ‘Babuji’. “Babuji claimed that the tour agency had a problem and couldn’t pick us up. He was wearing a suit and fluent in English. “He made a few calls from his cell phone and told us that everything had been settled. “He then asked us to pay RM700 for transport from KLIA to the hotel and back and told us that we could claim our money from the tour age... |
