a few loose ends left
2008-02-17 02:31:00 There are just a few minor loose ends left before the revamp of this blog is complete. My cafepress store isn't finished yet either. Nevertheless, I hope you like the new template so far. Many, many thanks to Levi.
Loose Ends: Valentin, Arby players & rotation
2008-01-17 04:24:00 It appears that Jose Valentin is close to signing a minor league deal (source ESPN) with an invite to spring training. I know I'm in the minority on this one, but if Valentin is healthy (which is a big if) he is a big addition to the team. He is a fiery veteran leader that was clutch in big time pressure situations and is a respected clubhouse elder. The intangibles that Valentin can provide were missing last year down the stretch. If the last bench spot came down to Pagan, Gotay or Valentin (healthy), I would want the Stache.....According to Newsday six eligible players have not come to terms on contracts and have filed for arbitration. They are Endy Chavez, Ryan Church, Pedro Feliciano, Aaron Heilman, Oliver Perez and Jorge Sosa.......RotoAuthority lists the top 78 starting pitchers, this is more for fantasy baseball fans but it is a good measure of where they stack up to their peers based on statistical analysis. Mets pitchers rankings: Pedro (26), Maine (32) and Perez (55).

Tighten Up Loose Ends to Make Your Home More Attractive to Buyers
2008-01-09 18:23:00 One of the largest mistakes that I see from homeowners trying to sell their home is to not fully complete the process of preparing a home for sale. There are numerous reasons this happens and none are sufficient in a highly competitive market if you are earnestly trying to sell your home. Today’s competitive market ...
Tying up Loose Ends
2007-11-09 15:25:00 Well, I lost that pesky pound that put me into the 140's last week. But I'm a little wary of taking the scale at face value. I've been exercising like a maniac. Actually more like a maniacal lunatic, since I threw in all those runs on top of my normal routine. My body is still doing weird things though from weaning the baby. And my eating this week has been...off. Not horrible, but I'm just eating weird things. Now I'd like to take a minute and tie up some loose ends.First of all, I'd like to thank Mrs. Furious for this little gem: The "You Make Me Smile Award." Unfortunately I'm going to be a bit of a scrooge hoard it for myself. I'm too lazy to pass it on to those who really deserve it. Too many people make me smile. So sue me. -----Jaime left a comment yesterday with this question: "What's the difference between doing it [plank] on my elbows or hands (like the top of a push-up)? Is one harder? Do the work different things?" I have no idea! And after hours of consulting ...

Song of the Week: Loose Ends by Imogen Heap
2007-10-14 05:04:00 The photo in this entry is Running After. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. I recently discovered this song. Ever since, I have been playing it a lot. I love the vocals, beat, and cheery sound despite what she sings about. Imogen Heap is my absolute favorite singer. I first began admiring her when I heard her in Frou Frou. Since then she has soared in her career, creating awesome tracks such as this one. Loose ends is an eclectic track with thought provoking lyrics and a voice that will keep you in awe. I can't get enough of this song and it might even make you want to dance in your seat. Why not take a listen? Here it is, Loose Ends by Imogen Heap: I encourage comments on my writings. Tying up loose ends
2007-03-19 17:30:00 I have finished making things for the CL Fair- I wish I could have made more but I have to stop sometime, I'm not doing that "taking a sewing basket along with me" thing.I am now concentrating on all the things that make a stall look nice. One of the things that I have been doing today is potting up some unusual spring bulbs. In the autumn I planted trays and trays of spring bulbs in the hope of having lots to pot up now.To be honest, it hasn't been a great success. Mice and the unremitting rain saw a lot of them off but there were some survivors. The photo is of muscari latifolium - basically a grape hyacinth in a very deep blue with a beautiful spathe shaped leaf.I always think that shape gives a kind of sinister glamour to a plant - I don't know why. The flower hangs around inside the leaf for a week or two then elongates and looks much more like a grape hyacinth.Bix, our eldest cat, has been supervising the packing up.
Loose Ends
2007-03-07 14:45:00 Consider this post as Al’s way of tying up some loose ends. The last couple of weeks I’ve been more self-absorbed than usual and, to be honest, haven’t had much to say au sujet du Québec. But for those who are interested in the daily happenings of my routine, I wanted to let you know that, yes, the bank did manage to correct my balance and return to me the money that had been scammed by those evil card skimmers. And no, there were no bounced cheques in the meantime, so all is well in that respect.I continue scratch and claw my way through my English-to-French translation course with varied results. I had thought that I was finally turning a corner last week when I received back my first ‘A’, only to be smacked back to reality this week when I got back a ‘C’ right before the midterm. Nothing like a confidence booster right before the midterm to get your mind in the right place, eh? My French-to-English class has been far more consistent, in terms of performance. ...
Loose ends
2007-03-01 01:53:00 Like the rain life is guided by the social weather outside and we appear to follow (I am learning an alternative now but until I have this represents the current state). Work pops up and now three weeks running I've worked Tuesday and Wednesday, but today had a very nice visitor as well in between which was new.Another new visitor booked for tomorrow, people do turn up in little bunches like most things, the only clue to order in the apparent chaos. And my particular work today was giuded by the rain, no gardening but accounts, which turned out to be more pressing and way beyond the level I should be doing. Not my choice for sure. Tomorrow is set to be dry for the second time in almost a week, which photos get taken remain to be seen but I certainly far from wasted the week so far despite hardly leaving the house today, but proved working from home is no easier than working anywhere else if the work gets tough. At least at present I don't have to get up tomorrow, having been woken...

In the his opening speech to the Gaul ...
2007-02-18 20:18:00 Loose ends In the his opening speech to the Gaul Re-opened Formal Investigation, Nigel Meeson QC, representing the Attorney General, advised on one of the matters on which the RFI should focus:“…the duff chute …This time a single flap lid, which we can see, is in the open position. It is difficult to see, but if one looks carefully you can see that the chute here is kept in the open position by a wire pinned across the top left-hand corner, which I am indicating now with the laser pen.”This matter was to become one of the RFI’s principal justifications for concluding that the inner covers of the duff and offal chutes on the Gaul had been secured open by the crew, a fact that was subsequently deemed to have contributed to the loss of the vessel. [1] The image, taken during the 2002 underwater survey, that Mr Meeson referred to, purportedly shows a wire going across the inner lid. We have also viewed this picture, as well as the rest of the video footage, and have come to a ...

Loose ends, loose labia
2006-12-12 02:10:05 My hits have dropped to 15 a day. Where am I going wrong???Meanwhile loose ends abound. The labia are purely in my mind, I don't know what the Upanishads say (use Google guys, that's what it's for) but when I need to divert my mind I meditate on the labia. You can't beat nature's gifts to raise you from the depths of anything, and nothing beats the labia. So many loose ends I shouldn't worry about. Accounts all over the place, waiting for the final appointment for an eye test when I can get my arse in gear, lost clients, putting everything back after my renovations (kitchen and painting), and the usual dental checkup like the steaming pile of manure at the top. I really can't be bothered with all of it hanging around like bad smells but Maharaji says loose ends are usual and we must go above them rather than care and attempt to do them up- for each we do two more arrive so it's a waste of time. If someone dies we always wish we'd said things, they'd done things etc but deat...
October full of loose ends...
2006-12-02 15:36:06 Eileen Nauman at the Medicine Garden has posted her October forecast. It looks like it's going to be a month of taking care of all those loose ends in our life. She says, " This is a month of tying up a lot of loose ends in our personal life, in our business and career. It is a time of compassion, of patience and being aware and sensitive to the needs of others. It is not a time of selfish narcissism raising its head. This is a month of endings. What you do not need any longer (whether you know it at the time or not), will be removed. This is a month of losing friends, loved ones, a job--understanding that everything has it?s own cycle of completion. This is a month, for some people, that looks as if their lives are being taken away from them. But nothing could be further from the truth. From time to time, the Cosmos takes what is no longer needed from us to REPLACE it with something we do need..."
