He had 60 days last summer and 30 this past spring. He has a slow pitter patter jog, but his lope will need finishing. He is content to walk and jog. He needs more time with an experienced rider on trails. He's doing okay, but can still be a little unsure about things at times. I do not have the time to put into him right now because I'm working with my 2 year old and taking my daughter to shows. Spirit is easy to handle. He has a very loving personality but is recommended for the experienced rider and handler, as he is still a young horse. For 4-H I'd only recommend him to an older, experienced rider. He could excel in any direction you'd like to go. He's VERY smart minded. Stands for the vet and farrier. Loads easily. His Pinto registration is pending at this time. I already took the pulmonary diagnostics class and really enjoyed it since I had an excellent professor that told great stories and I made a strong A.I first witnessed the methacholine challenge. This test is used to diagnose asthma. Methacholine is an irritant. We do simple FVC spirometry after every dose of methacholine. The dose increases after each test.We look at her FEV1, which is how much air she can blow out in one second. Majority of people will be able to blow out 75% of their total lung volume. A drop of 20% will indicate asthma.Our first patient complained of chest shortness of breath. She went through all the doses and only dropped 6%. The good news is that she didn?t have asthma. The bad news is that it could be something far worse. Asthma is a very treatable disease. She left to receive an EKG to check her heart after our meeting.
