Saint Ignatius Of Loyola
2008-07-31 14:49:00 Founder of the Society of Jesus. Since I spent 7 years in a Jesuit school, though it was the very secular and very liberal Boston College, Saint Ignatius deserves a nod. He envisioned the Jesuits as much better than they have been in the last 50 years. And remember, the early Jesuits were the leaders in devotion to the Sacred Heart. Of course, there is the old joke about two college

The Glory of St. Ignatius Loyola
2008-04-25 20:40:00 Andrea Pozzo (Italian, 1642-1709)The Glory of St. Ignatius Loyola and the MissionaryWork of the Jesuit Order (called The Apotheosis ofSt. Ignatius), 1688?94Fresco17 x 35 metres (56 x 115 ft.)Church of S Ignazio di Loyola, (the Gesu), RomeThe real walls of the church continue in painted illusion until vast open space is seen in the centre of the painting, with the saint situated in glory with the Blessed Trinity. The three stages of the spiritual life as described by St. John of the Cross and St. Teresa of Ávila, are dramatised in the painting. On the foreground edges of the painting, giants, representing ignorance, are seen fighting a losing battle with angels, who throw the former into Hell. "Take, Lord" Prayer by Ignatius of Loyola
2007-09-05 17:43:00 Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my intellect, and all my will--all that I have and possess. You gave them to me: to You, Lord, I return them. All is Yours, dispose of all according to Your will. Give me only Your love and grace, for these are enough for me.--Ignatius of Loyola (1491-1556)

This group is surrounded by gilt-bronze and marble reliefs illustrating scenes from Loyola's ministry as well as large marble tableaux of the triumphs of Faith and Religion. Some one hundred artists and artisans worked on the altar, and the most important commissions went to two Frenchmen. Jean-Baptist Théodon (1645-1713) and Pierre Le Gros the Younger (1666-1719).Théodon executed the over life-size marble group of the Triumph of Faith over Idolatry and Le Gros the Religion Overthrowing Heresy and Hatred.

WOLFMOTHER (2006)Colaboração: Amigo Loyola(192 kb) The long
2007-01-17 02:58:01 WOLFMOTHER (2006)Colaboração: Amigo Loyola(192 kb) The long awaited, highly anticipated debut album by the Sydneysiders. 12 tracks of glorious rock symphony, reminding of the likes of T-Rex, The Beatles, Cream and so many more of your favourite bands. It's like Sabbath and Zeppelin were cryogenically frozen but took a knowledge pill and were thawed in 2005. It's like Kyuss but all slowed down and fucked up and with odd but somehow right time changes and bold as chord shifts. But it's different. It's no throwback or pastiche or parody, but sounds fresh and exciting, a celebration of love for the music. It's Wolfmother a 3-piece rock'n'roll wet dream from the abyss that are going to make you peer inside your brain and howl at the moon. From Dimension's military, thundering drums, roaring axe intro and stunning melody, to Woman's showcase of vocalist and guitarist Andrew Stockdale's shivery holler, right through to the chugging riffs and sludgy breakdown of Apple Tree and the...
