Commenting on The Record of Communist Language Policy, silver, a Serb, notes: In Eastern Europe, a similar thing occurred with the fall of the Communist regimes. In general, nationalist regimes took their place and quickly began attacking minorities and minority tongues. This has been most pronounced in the former Yugoslavia.I'm not aware of Serbian nationalists attempting to suppress Hungarian or Albanian. Even throughout the supposedly nationalist Milosevic era I think Hungarians were able to graduate university in Hungarian (and, of course, Albanian in Kosovo). I'm pretty sure Albanian has fared better in Macedonia under independence than during Yugoslavia; little-known Vlach certainly has. You can choose several different fruits or just 2 like I did this time: Peaches and Strawberries. The juice is always made with lemon juice and sugar, some people add a dash of white wine. We leave the Macedonia in the fridge for a few hours before serving to let the juices and flavours out. The juice will become pink or red, depending on the fruit. I added some fresh lavender flowers from my garden, and I absolutely like these colours together. Lavender is not poisonous and you can also use other edible flowers! Experiment!

Forgotten Macedonian Venice Reveals Pre-Historic Artifacts
2006-10-09 18:00:10 For decades now, the Cultural Center in Resen has housed boats, some 4,000 years old. They belonged to the Prespa inhabitants of the Stone Age, and were discovered on the shores of Lake Prespa.?In my 28 years as a professional, I have never heard of these boats, explains Dimitar Mucevski, an archeologist from Resen. ?I know of foreign archeologists discovering such wooden boats in the pharaohs? tombs, but I was not aware of such treasures here in Macedonia. These boats are made out of a single tree trunk,? further elaborates Mucevski.Two years ago some locals contributed to the conservation of the boats dating from the Neolithic Period, and now the three can be seen in Resen free of charge.Mucevski told us that the boats were discovered near the village of Nakolec. The locals say that similar artifacts are regularly washed up on the shores, but that there are not any sufficient funds or human resources available to conduct an archeological search.
