This week she registered for high school.I drove her to the building and it was like traveling through a twenty-year time warp as we walked up the front walkway where students had set up boom boxes, playing in the sun while tossing footballs and barbecuing hot dogs.We walked inside through the registration stations so she could get her student I.D., class schedule and locker assignment but when we passed the table where you could sign up for the swim team this handsome tall, senior swimmer with wavy blond hair and a perfect smile called out to her: "Hey! Do you want to join the swim team?"She did this shy little "Who me?" move then when she realized this manly Olympian was talking to her her cheeks flushed, she stammered a bit and began to think that maybe swimming was the sport for her. She probably would have signed on the dotted line if it hadn't meant hanging out in a bathing suit, swim cap and goggles under the scrutiny...

In the weeks getting ready led me into a fair amount of soul searching and a fair bit of nervousness.I look back out how immature we all were back then. I thought I was forgiving, loving, and responsible. The truth is that I was probably just a self-centered brat. I don't like to remember who I was ten years ago, because I think I could have been a better person. I know that I try a lot harder now. I did disappoint myself. The guy who was always an outsider was still an outsider at the reunion. I certainly didn't do it intentionally, even though I have to say he still kind of creeps me out.... My only regret is that I didn't talk to him and find out where he's at in his life. I just didn't put any effort into it. I'm pretty ashamed of me. I'm glad that I was able to make the trip and see how much everyone has changed over the years. I'm so glad that I'm not the person that I was 10 years ago. But...

I'm so glad to hear it: the little 500-seat Kiggins Theater on downtown Vancouver's Main Street (1011 Main St.) has a new owner who plans to continue it's operation as a movie theater operated by Historic Movie Theater, Inc.. I love these little old movie theaters, and hate to see them go as old buildings become transformed into something new. Downtown Camas also has a charming old movie theater on its little main street, and there are surprisingly quite a few such theaters still operating in Portland neighborhoods. I love seeing films at Vancouver's fabulous new Cinetopia movie complex, but there's something about these little older theaters that makes going to the movies a nostalgic experience that, well, just feels right sometimes! I had initally set a price target of $800 for GOOG to be reached by end of 2009. Looks like we will get there this year now. They garnered 50% search share which equates to 24% growth year over year (YOY). Talk about impressive numbers-the Google train obviously isn’t slowing! How does this impact the major search game? Does this sound the warning siren to Microsoft that maybe they ought to reconsider buying out Yahoo?
