Marshawn Lynch Update
2008-06-03 05:02:00
Here's the link from PFT: A few more details have come to light. 1. The woman, according to a witness, was hit and 'flew'. Thankfully, her actual injuries seem to be minor. Never mind for the moment that her made up injuries will possibly be far more serious when this eventually hits a civil courtroom. Whether Lynch was driving or not it was his car and that means that he and his fat wallet are involved...at least as far as scumbag trial lawyers are concerned. 2. The woman, according to the same witness, had a green light while the SUV had a red light. Naturally, pedestrians always have the right of way even when they do something stupid. She wasn't doing anything stupid, so whether she was drunk or not won't matter in the least. 3. The cops have impounded Lynch's SUV. 4. The SUV was damaged during the hit-and-run and at least one piece of it was left at the scene. The cops have that piece. It stands to reason that they wouldn't have impounded the vehicle if Lynch's SUV wasn...
NFL Injuries: Brett Favre, Donovan McNabb, Marshawn Lynch
2007-12-07 16:52:00
The latest news on a few fantasy starters coming back from injury this week.  Maybe.   Marshawn Lynch, Buffalo - Lynch finally practiced this week and should be back as the Bills starter this week.   If he's going to play you should feel free to start him as the Bills won't rush their franchise back early against the 0-12 Dolphins, especially when backup Fred Jackson played well last week. Donovan McNabb, Philadelphia - McNabb has been practicing and looks ready to go this week against the Giants.  With the Giants giving up 19 passing touchdowns so far this season (6th worst in the league), this is a good opportunity for McNabb owners. Brett Favre, Green Bay - Favre practiced this week as well, but it was a light workout and didn't test his  injured shoulder and elbow to the test.  He's expecting to get a full practice in today so we'll see how he held up on Friday.  Keep an eye on how he's doing, but make sure you  have  another S...
Notes On A Train: Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch and Marvin Harrison
2007-11-21 02:37:00
After two hours of last minute requests at work heading into the getaway day for Thanksgiving, I sat back on the 6:45PM train and listened to Will Carroll of Baseball Prospectus, Rotowire, SI.com etc during his weekly appearance on "The Rotowire Fantasy Sports Hour With Chris Liss".  He covered four injury situations -  Marshawn Lynch, Adrian Peterson, Marvin Harrison and Ryan Grant.   Quick and dirty, here is what he said: Expect Marshawn Lynch to return later then Adrian Peterson. Adrian Peterson could be back this week depending on how he feels on Friday and definitely by Week Thirteen. Marvin Harrison is out this week and there is some locker room grumbling. With the short week, the Packers must decide if 75% of Ryan Grant on Thursday is better than 100% of another Green Bay RB. All of this is subject to change as players get back on the practice field, but I am quite pleased with the Peterson news.  Now I worry whether I just heard what I wanted to hear a...
Looking Behind Marshawn Lynch
2007-11-09 18:17:00
Marshawn Lynch is having a solid rookie season so far.  He's fourth in the league with 690 rushing yards though his 3.9 yards per carry average is below average for a top running back.  His five rushing touchdowns have been one of the better totals of year so  far, believe it or not.  All together, Lynch has been one of the most dependable running backs in fantasy football this season. Now what happens if he gets hurt? It seems as though backups for other "dependable" running backs are already on the fantasy radar.   Owners are ready for Najeh Davenport, Michael Turner or Kenton Keith to take over for their teams - it wouldn't be surprising if all three of those guys are already on rosters in your fantasy league.  But who is the backup for Marshawn Lynch? It's actually Anthony Thomas, an uninspiring backup now in his 7th NFL season. Thomas started two games for Willis McGahee last season including an impressive 108 yard performance against Indy. &nbs...
Defining Moment, Week 9: Marshawn Lynch
2007-11-05 22:21:00
As part of Samsung's "Defining Moments of the Weekend" campaign, several of SB Nation's football blogs are asked each week to submit the "Defining Moment" from any NFL game they'd seen over the weekend. Naturally, with the Bills victorious yesterday, I chose to write about the defining moment from yesterday: Marshawn Lynch's 56-yard touchdown. The great part about this initiative is that fans like you and I can visit the site, vote up our favorite Defining Moments and even submit our own. So that's what I'm inviting you all to do - check out my Defining Moment, vote it up, and write up your own if you'd like. Also, make sure to check out the rest of the Defining Moments submitted by the writers of SB Nation! In the event that you'd rather stay in the comforts of this site, here's the write-up: What was the defining moment from Sunday's Bills/Bengals contest? Look no further than the 56-yard, game-clinching scamper by Bills rookie runner Marshawn Lynch. The NFL's bes...
Can We Give The Rookie Of The Year To Adrian Peterson Early?
2007-10-15 07:09:00
Without a doubt, Adrian Peterson has stuck out head and shoulders above the rest of the the rookie class of 2007. While Marshawn Lynch has done great in Buffalo with his rough style, Peterson is completely blowing defenses out of the water. Adrian is doing what Reggie Bush was supposed to do last year. Like ...
The Uh-Oh Files: Marshawn Lynch
2007-09-01 20:58:00
With just a few days until the opening kickoff of the 2007 NFL season, fantasy football owners have lots of reasons to be excited. However, they have just as many reasons to be jittery. Today we'll take a look at Buffalo Bills RB Marshawn Lynch and tell you why you should be nervous.Lynch, the rookie out of Cal, is being taken in the third round of many drafts. In some he goes as high as the second. Many pundits have touted him as a Rookie-of-the-Year candidate. They love his combination of power and explosiveness. They love the fact that his only real competition in the Bills' backfield comes from Anthony Thomas. Now that you bought into the hype (and we did, too, drafting him onto our Experts League team), and with the Bills' first game a mere 8 days away, it's time to start worrying. Lynch, going up against a rag-tag collection of second and third-string defenses, has been absolutely horrible this preseason, amassing a whopping 37 yards on 22 carries. That's a 1.7 YPC average...
Buffalo Bills' Marshawn Lynch and linebacker Paul Posluszny Sit Out Scrimma
2007-08-06 21:52:00
From http://www.buffalonews.com Bills swap some paintUpdated: 08/05/07 7:37 AM Fans got a little extra treat Saturday as coach Dick Jauron ended practice with a 10-minute, full-contact scrimmage with most of the rookies and young veterans. Some rookies, such as running back Marshawn Lynch and linebacker Paul Posluszny sat out, and no prominent veterans participated. The Bills do very little hitting and no tackling in practice, so the brief but hard-hitting scrimmage was intended to give the coaches a better look at young players in a more physical setting.?With a lot of the guys we don?t know, we need to see them and see where they are,? Jauron said. ?We ran about 14 or 15 plays and that was good. Now we?ll look at the tape. At least it will help us evaluate them under live conditions. That?s not like a game will be for them, but at least it gives us a look at them.?Neufeld hurtThe injury bug continues to plague the Bills. Tight end Ryan Neufeld suffered a hyperextended knee on a r...
Bills Sign Marshawn Lynch; Quick Camp Update
2007-07-27 16:59:00
As was reported last night at Rumblings by user nickfeely8 (thanks Feely), the Bills have signed first-round pick RB Marshawn Lynch. Yahoo is reporting the monetary aspect of the deal as 5 years, $19 million with $10.3 million guaranteed. The signing means that Lynch will be in camp this morning for his first full practice, leaving the Bills just one man short (Darwin Walker) of full attendance. Here's a quote from the write-up on the official site: Lynch is fully expected to be the featured tailback as a rookie though head coach Dick Jauron is still leaning in favor of a committee approach. There better be a committee approach to start, because as good as Marshawn has been, he's never carried a full rushing load. Keep the pressure off the kid while he learns the ropes, and let him grow into his role. Sounds like Jauron's got a good plan. Friday Morning Camp Update Chris Brown (via his blog) is reporting that J.P. Losman is back working out today after missing yesterday...
Cal's Marshawn Lynch Signed By Buffalo - $18.9 million - Profootballtalk.co
2007-07-27 08:36:00
LYNCH DEAL DONEA league source tells us that the Bills have reached an agreement with running back Marshawn Lynch, the No. 12 selection in the 2007 draft. (Adam Schefter of NFL Network was the first to report this.)Lynch will receive $10,285,000 in guaranteed money, and the total value of the package is $18,935,000 on a five-year deal. (Technically, it's a six-year deal that voids to five if Lynch meets a minimum playing time threshold.)The key is the duration; Lynch is the fourth player taken in the top 16 who could have been required to sign a six-year deal, but who got in the end a five-year contract. The former California tailback is expected to step in immediately as the starter, given the offseason trade of Willis McGahee.
Fantasy Bills: RB Marshawn Lynch
2007-07-10 16:11:00
Perfect for the flex position (Courtesy: BuffaloBills.com) Note: this is a continuation of the "Fantasy Bills" series here at Buffalo Rumblings. This series focuses on fantasy football-worthy Bills players and how they should be utilized this coming season. Previous Fantasy Bills: Losman, Price, Evans Name one rookie who has a better chance at making a big-time statistical impact as a rookie than Bills running back Marshawn Lynch. OK, Lions wideout Calvin Johnson doesn't count. So name one rookie who has a better chance at making a big-time statistical impact as a rookie than Bills running back Marshawn Lynch other than Calvin Johnson. Not too many names come up, do they? The fact of the matter is this: when fantasy drafts start going down, Lynch will always be one of (if not the) first rookie drafted. Here's why. What Has Changed? A lot has obviously changed for Lynch, who goes from being a dominant talent in the Pac-10 to an unproven talent against NFL defenses....
Marshawn Lynch Hit & Run
0000-00-00 00:00:00
[HTML1] Someone driving Marshawn Lynch's 2008 Porsche Cayenne struck a 27-year old Ontario woman early Saturday morning, and didn't stop. The only question now is - who was behind the wheel? Presumably, unless there's a police report of that vehicle being stolen, its owner knows who was driving. ...
