Maruti in its FY
2008-04-30 11:15:00 Indian car leaders Maruti Suzuki are doing wonder on the Indian roads from the time of its birth. The company?s growth is visible not only domestically but also globally. We can get a clear picture looking at their growth chart. In the last fiscal, MSIL saw a volume growth of 1.1% during the quarter due to low domestic sales at 187191 units, where as the export was up by 5.8% at 15034 units. Due to a fall in the A1 segment of 8% last financial year; the company has discontinued its Maruti 800 model. A2 segment was also seen a little low by 2%. But the segment that showed the great growth was in A3 with the 82% growth and the credit goes to the well sold Alto and Swift models. The company also discontinued Esteem during the year and was replaced by Swift Dzire. The company also invested in its Manesar during this year. Maruti Suzuki: Still in the Race
2008-04-02 17:28:00 By Priya NigamI guess we all have certain childhood memories that stick with us through the years. Mine is of my 6-feet-4-inches uncle trying (with great difficulty and a lot of help from relatives!) to get out of a Maruti 800. We were still in the era when ?having choice? meant we could choose between an Ambassador and a Fiat. This was the first time we laid eyes on a Maruti 800 and my (adventurous) uncle had somehow managed to squeeze himself in. However, getting out was another story and we feared he would have to live in it forever!Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp took the Indian market by storm and the cars quickly became extremely popular. But soon, stiff competition came knocking on the door. Sales of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, which is mainly owned by its Japanese parent, fell to 64,421 units in March 2008, from 64,556 units in the same month last year. Total sales for the month dipped 2.1% year-on-year to 70,296 vehicles, with exports plummeting 19% to 5,875 vehicles. This decline ...

Maruti Suxuri SX4... Indeed MEN ARE BACK !!!
2008-02-03 21:49:00 &-nbsp; &n-bsp; The- roads were vacant, spaces aplenty for a battalion to rage war over an enemy. But I decided to do it differently. Pedals pressed to the metal, heart beating fast, eating space lightning quick, filling up each vacant space momentarily. The good roads are becoming ever so rare to find and even when you do, there are a thousand other people who suddenly seem to have found a new place to drive on. A splendid strip of tarmac and a splendid vehicle in hand, man can work wonders out. The man or should I say, the CAR of the moment takes every single obstacle with finesse and with a affirmation and authority that mid-sized sedans have forgotten how to. But the solution to all of a driver’s problems doesn’t end there, does it???? Well, that’s exactly what I’ve tried to figure out. And boy was I amazingly surprised. Which way???? Design and Ergonomics Wel...

Maruti to withdraw Maruti Esteem
2008-01-11 18:46:00 Presently, large numbers of people are busy in watching new cars launched during the auto expo in New Delhi. Various Media channels are also filled with the features and photographs of new models of cars which we will hopefully drive in 2008. However in the backdrop, India?s first luxury car Esteem is going to say good bye to Indian roads soon. Maruti has already stopped the production of this car from 1st Jan, 2008. Esteem will be still available in the market till the stock last.Maruti Esteem is second successful car from Maruti after Zen which will be withdrawn from the market (Maruti?s successful small car Zen was replaced with Zen Estilo last year). I still remember Maruti 1000 which was converted to advance model with 1.3 L petrol engine Esteem in 1994. In early 90?s only few people were lucky enough to drive 1000 or Esteem. After its launch, soon Esteem become a favourite choose for people in luxury car segment and everywhere on road it became very easy to find Esteem. For few...

Maruti Suzuki re-focusing on European Market
2007-12-15 02:15:00 Maruti Suzuki, the largest passenger carmaker in India, is likely to re-focus in the European market and compete against other auto leaders, including Fiat, Citroen, Peugeot and Toyota in the small car category.Small cars are surging in popularity in Europe after the significant rising of fuel prices, congestion and new laws that penalize high emissions were observed. This fact boosted Maruti Suzuki to produce tiny cars in the “A segment” to be exported by the end of next year.According to Michael Tyndall, European auto and component analyst for Nomura in London, “There is a trend towards downsizing in the market… There’s almost a divergence. The premium segment is growing strongly. At the same time the small car segment is growing. Everything else in the middle is suffering.”Suzuki created A-Star, a new five-door hatchback, which will comply with strict Euro 5 emission standards. It will have a one-liter aluminum engine. The vehicle will be sold in Europe under the Suzu...
