Certainement mes prunes prfres! il est si difficile de trouver du got aujourd'hui ce petit fruit que j'adore. De toutes les couleurs, de toutes les formes, acides ou sucr coeur. Il me semble que la plus petite des prunes, mais bien plus "reine" que la "Claude", la mirabelle a su conserver un peu de sa saveur. Et elle se plait si bien en clafoutis! Petite prune donc mini clafoutis. Ce n'est pas encore la pleine saison, elle dbute normalement la mi-aot. 2007-07-02 10:11:00 Just a quickie post. Here's a great and easy recipe for carrot cupcakes! Instead of using the all time standard cream cheese icing, I used mascarpone. It's basically the same recipe and instructions, you're just changing out the cream cheese for mascarpone. The recipe is from the book 500 Cupcakes.For the cupcakes:1 cup of butter, soft1 cup of superfine sugar2 cups of self-rising flour4 eggs1 tsp. allspice1 cup walnut pieces1 cup grated carrot2 tbsp. golden raisinsFor the icing:1 cup mascarpone1 1/2 cup of sifted powdered sugar1 tbsp. lemon juice1 tsp vanilla1. Preheat the oven to 350F degrees. Place 18 baking cups in muffin pans. Combine the butter, sugar, flour, and eggs in a large bowl and beat until smooth, about 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in the rest of the ingredients. Spoon the batter evenly into the cups and bake for 20 minutes. 2007-06-18 10:32:00 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar 2 teaspoons plus 4 tablespoons sugar1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice1/2 cup chilled mascarpone cheese*1/2 cup chilled whipping cream1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract3 1-pint baskets (about 24 ounces) strawberries, hulled, halved Combine vinegar, 2 teaspoons sugar, and lemon juice in heavy small saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil until syrup is reduced to scant 1/4 cup, about 3 minutes. Transfer to small bowl; cool completely. (Can be made 2 days ahead. Cover and refrigerate.) Combine mascarpone, cream, vanilla, and 2 tablespoons sugar in medium bowl. Whisk until thick soft peaks form. Cover and refrigerate up to 4 hours. Combine berries and remaining 2 tablespoons sugar in large bowl; drizzle with balsamic syrup and toss to blend. Let stand 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Divide berries and syrup among 6 goblets. Top with mascarpone mixture.

You sure know how to make a girl feel special!Late wednesday night I was cleaning the kitchen after an afternoon of baking and macaron making when I gave a serious look into the fruit bowl: the bananas I had bought two days earlier were already having a mini meltdown. It is quite amazing how fruits wilt faster than you can use it over here. At first, I thought of the usual: banana tartelettes, bread puddings, muffins, cakes, breakfast treats...It was hot you see, so I went for a cold treat instead and I am glad I did. I was tempted to make ice cream but changed my mind for something a little bit more elaborate when I learned we might have company on thursday night. Now I'm actually not a big mascara girl, mostly because it all seems to look like you are wearing mascara, flaking, clumping etc. I had heard some very good raves on DiorShow, and decided to try it after trying everything else. Guess what? Its as good as they say. I got it in the waterproof formula in 'Chestnut' (for an even more natural look). It went on amazing.
