Pcgameshardware.de benched this game on various CPUs and a lot of graphics cards from both green and red camp.Bioware's Mass Effect uses Epic's modified engine which keeps the requirements at a moderate level, so basically if your system managed to cope with Unreal Tournament 3, you are all set to play Mass Effect too.According to their testing, a dual-core processor is recommended, whereas quad-cores aren't providing any noticeable benefits. As for the graphics cards, Nvidia's 8800GT will be enough for 1,280x1,024 as long as you don't get cocky with anisotropic filtering.The PC version of Mass Effect is scheduled to be released on May 28th for North America and June 6th for Europe. I'd even go so far as to say that anyone who owns an Xbox 360 should play through Mass Effect's main story at least once. The things it does with the conversation system and combat are pure genius. However, today I want to focus on all the little things about it that pissed me off. Hopefully they'll get addressed in Mass Effect 2.First off, there are tons of load times. You load each time you go to a new planet. That much I can expect and live with. But even once you're at a location and running around the game will slow down as you go into new areas as it loads that area up. Even within your ship, which is not that big, there are multiple spots where running from one part of the ship to another will cause the game to lag and have to load. Sure, each time it loads it only takes a few seconds, but it really takes me out of the game experience when ever few minutes the game paus...

2008-01-22 17:41:00 Who feels for Geoff Keighley? Who was live on Fox News to try and clear the way over a huge video game misrepresentation. To cut a long story short Mass Effect has full nudity and sex scenes in it and a psychologist “expert” talks about how statistics show that games are played by young boys and that Mass Effect is all about objectifying women. Which is strange as you can play as a woman as well Keighley points out, and about the full on nudity he says there is only half a boob showing for about 30 seconds which is not a lot considering the game runs for at least 30 hours. Keighley did take charge of the interview, watch the video below to see what we mean. On a personal not sex and nudity is a way of life that everyone will see in their lifetime, and seeing what I have seen in the video, it seems there is not much to go on to offend. 2008-01-15 17:59:00 I've recently finished playing Mass Effect for the first time.I took the path, of playing the additional missions/assignments, and by the end of the game, I'd problaby completed around... 80% maybe 90% of them, and I'm going to play through the game again to do all of them.The version of Shepard I went with, was the default settings, with the exception he skill was technical based, and I played selecting all the good guy responses.I almost straight away fell in love with the way the story line evolved, just based on how you replied to a what had been said before.As had been noted by a lot of video game pod/vidcast I watch, their really aren't any tutorials, in the traditional sense of them, where they hold your hand, as such, through the first bit of the game, to get you familiar with the controls, the interfac, etc...For the most part, this wasn't really a problem, with the exception of when driving around planets with the Mako.I might have just missed something saying t...

Mass Effect: First Impression
2007-12-27 00:14:00 I thought I'd post my first impression on the game Mass Effect.I earlier today, I picked up a pre-owned copy of the limited edition.I was looking for a new game, to give my new Sony Bravia 26" LCD HD TV, I got as a Christmas present.Yeah, I know any of the XBOX 360 I already own, would show this fine, but I've played those lots of time already, on an old CRT TV that I was using, but I wanted a game I'd not played before, to really try it out.WOW, it's looks really good, and while I don't have a proper sound surround system yet, but it looked sounded really good.I'm only a few hours into the game, and so far, I have to say that I like it.I love the way that the way, that the you can affect the story line, just by the way you reply to something that has been said to you in the game.So far, my only real issue with the game, and this could be a just something I'm not doing right, on some of the planets I have visited, I've said that I want to land, where you should be able to go...
