Actually, my father was born in Germany and came to the U.S. at six years old making me a first generation American! Being of German decent, of course, gives me a German name: “Jabs” pronounced in German as “Yaaps”. Matthew in German is spoken as Matthias, making my German name Matthias Jabs. Well…it just so happens that I’m not the only Matthias Jabs in the world (big surprise). If there are any Scorpions fans out there, you may be privy to the fact that The Scorpions lead guitarist’s name is also Matthias Jabs.
