2007-10-25 12:05:00 Para hablar de Mazzy Star es necesario mencionar a David Roback, al movimiento Paisley Underground (surgido a principios de los ?80 en California e influenciado sobre todo por los sonidos psicodélicos de los ?60) y al grupo Rain Parade, del que formó parte hasta que sacaron el primer LP. A mediados de los ?80 deja la banda para formar primero Clay Allison y luego Opal, en compañía de la bajista Kendra Smith (ex-Dream Syndicate), además de formar parte del proyecto Rainy Day (superbanda formada por músicos de The Dream Syndicate, The Rain Parade, The Bangles o Three o?clock que sacaron un disco de versiones de VU, Big Star, Beach Boys, Byrds, Buffalo Springfield?). Kendra Smith abandona el grupo Opal en plena gira y es sustituida por Hope Sandoval, a quien había conocido y producido un disco cuando esta formaba parte del dúo Going Home, junto con Sylvia Gomez.
