Afternoon Update - R.E.M., Bon Jovi, Roger Waters, UB40, Mel Tillis

Country Music Hall of Fame Ceremony Inducts Three
2007-10-30 06:40:00 Vince Gill, Mel Tillis and Ralph Emery became the three newest members of the Country Music Hall of Fame on Sunday night in Nashville. Their names were first announced back in early-August but they had to wait for the induction ceremony which, in the past, had been done at the CMA awards but are now relegated to a separate occasion.TV and radio host Emery was inducted first with Raul Malo singing You Gave Me a Mountain, a song written by Marty Robbins who was Emery's most frequent guest. Other performers included the Gaither Vocal Band, Con Hunley and Ray Stevens performing Everything is Beautiful. Gill's section of the ceremony was highlighted by a duet between Rodney Crowell and Emmylou Harris on Some Things Never Get Old, a performance of Go Rest High On the Mountain by Michael McDonald, Guy Clark with The Randall Knife and Al Anderson with Next Big Thing. Breaking News: Mel Tillis Invited to Join Grand Ole Opry
2007-05-13 08:33:00 A few weeks ago, I asked, Who Will the Opry Induct Next?
