Ingredients: 2 Chicken Breast Meat 1 medium Chinese Old Melon 100g Chinese Barley, washed 6 Dried Dates 1.5 litre Water Salt to taste How to do it: Blanch chicken breast meat to remove the scum. I woke up early (in my ordinary days, getting out of bed at 11am is record-breaking) and tried to brush off the cobweb that had been lodging in my gray matter for the longest time. Playing on the background were the early 90?s songs from women-led bands (Hole, the Cranberries, 10,000 Maniacs and Moonpools and Caterpillar), I couldn?t help looking back when I was romantically-attached to everything surrounding me. I sense a lot of resentment from people for the original singer's replacement, and while I agree that the remaining members of the band should have just rebooted under a new name and let the Blind Melon title rest in peace, I really don't hate this new lineup. It's almost upsetting how similar the new guy sounds to Shannon Hoon, but if you analyze these guys on their own merits instead of fixating on what they sounded like way back when, they really are a still a good band. This "Wishing Well" is an extremely likeable song, and while it doesn't have that loveable indie-style charisma of mid-90s Melon, this new incarnation will be fine.
