2008-05-02 02:40:00 El SPAM cumple 30 años hoy, primero de mayo. La fecha tiene que ver con el hecho de que el primer SPAM conocido fue enviado el 1 de mayo de 1978. El primer spam fue enviado usando SNDMSG, un programa que tenía un espacio limitado para ingresar las direcciones TO y CC, además del Asunto (Subject). Como la persona que lo envió no estaba entrenado en el uso de SNDMSG empezó a escribir direcciones sobrepasando el area para los destinatarios y terminó escribiendo muchas direcciones en el cuerpo del mensaje, así que muchos de los destinatarios en realidad no recibieron el mensaje. El mensaje era una invitación a asistir a una demostración de DEC para los miembros de ARPANET de la costa oeste. Lo interesante es la reacción de la gente que recibió este email, la misma que tendríamos hoy en día, sin embargo hubo un defensor del SPAM, y fue nada menos que Richard Stallman, quien no había recibido el mail en cuestión, pero no pudo evitar meterse en la discusión que surgió a raiz del asunto....
