Top Five Reasons to be a Miami Dolphins Fan

Top Five Reasons to be a Miami Dolphins FanBy: Jennifer Jordan Being a Miami Dolphins fan comes with its fair share of heartache, with the team inconsistent these past few years. But, the same can be said about being a fan of any team (right, teams coached by Marty Schottenheimer?). ...
Jake Long: Miami Dolphins 1st Round Pick Meets The Media
2008-04-29 20:19:00
I'm still uploading videos from the NFL Draft. For more, visit my YouTube channel Zennie62 and our NFL Draft blog. Here we see Michigan offensive tackle Jake Long get selected "number one" by the Miami Dolphins, then meet the media in the Interview Room downstairs. This is more of a kind of behind the scenes video for those who've never seen the process with the media. I also included his Mom holding up his Dolphins "Number One" jersey.
Thomas Taken By Dolphins In 6th Round
2008-04-27 22:39:00
After falling further than the original projections, UConn Huskies offensive lineman Donald Thomas was finally taken by the Miami Dolphins with the 29th pick (195th overall) in the 6th round. Thomas had a good NFL Combine and it had been thought he would have gone in the 4th or 5th round today. Thomas will give the ...
Wow? A Sports Team With A Heart?
2008-04-27 19:04:00
Pro Football Talk picked up on a Sun Sentinel article that quoted Miami Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga saying Jason Taylor “deserved” to be traded. That’s a classy move coming from a franchise that has absolutely no chance of winning. Jason Taylor has given the Dolphins 9 or 10 years of hall of fame qualty play, ...
Eagles Trade For Lorenzo booker
2008-04-27 00:22:00
The Eagles just acquired RB and return specialist Lorenzo Booker for a 4th round pick(114). Booker was a third round pick of the Miami Dolphins just last year, but did not get much playing time as a rookie. Booker is basically your typical scat back type. He is very quick, agile, and a great receiver. At ...
Miami Dolphins signs Jake Long
2008-04-24 01:51:00
The Miami Dolphins signed Jake Long to a five-year contract with $30 million guaranteed. The deal allows the Dolphins and Long to avoid a possible holdout. “It’s really important for us to know Jake is going to be on the field for us on time when training camp begins in July,” Coach Tony Sparano said. “That ...
The Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders Should Have Bigger Roles
2008-04-23 13:06:00
I’m 99% sure that I’d rather go to the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders website than the website of the real team for at least the next 15 years. As everyone has pointed out, this is clearly the only hope for this NFL franchise right now. In all honesty, ownership should really start thinking about putting these ...
NFL Draft Nuggets: Chad Johnson, Miami Dolphins, Bucs Draft Philosophy
2008-04-23 04:08:00
With the first pick in the 2008 NFL Draft.. The Miami Dolphins select, Offensive Tackle Jake Long, from the University of Michigan. Yes, its only tuesday and the first Draft Pick has been signed, sealed, and delivered. I hate the early Draft signings, I really do. Talk about a buzz kill. How Goodell even lets it happen is beyond me. At any rate, good luck to the Dolphins. SBNation is 1 for 1 so far with the NFL Mock Draft. Not bad, not bad.. The St. Louis Rams are now on the clock! Marvin Lewis and the Bengals have it out for WR Chad Johnson (with good reason imo). The Redskins offered their '08 1st Round Draft Pick (No.21) and a potential '09 1st Round Draft Pick for WR Chad Johnson and got DENIED. The '09 1st Round Draft pick hinged on Ocho Cinco's ability to reach certain production plateaus. I have a feeling Chad Johnson won't see the field this season. Marvin Lewis seems crazy-stubborn-scorned enough to let that happen. Two 1st Round Draft Picks for Chad got denied, w...

JASON TAYLOR: MIAMI DOLPHINS DANCE
2008-03-27 04:48:00
Yeah, that was him, that was ma man, Jason Taylor, strutting his stuff on “Dancing With The Stars”. What cha think? Did he delight you? Did he excite you? No New York Jet, no New England Patriot, no Buffalo Bill - not even a New York Giant could ever move like that...only a Miami Dolphin could have pulled that off. “Dancing With The Stars” will never be the same. Look at ma man in action, eat it up ladies:Yeahh...Yeahhh...that’-s how we Miami Dolphins get down...all day, all night. Hello ladies. The Phinsider Community Mock Draft: Pick #1 - Miami Dolphins
2008-03-13 22:35:00
Well I posed the question to everyone in the community and it seems as though there is enough interest in doing a community mock draft.  So here's how it will work.  Every weekday, I will post a thread on the main page about whichever team is up to pick.  I'll recap the picks up to this point and then post a scouting report or two from a draft website about what that team's needs happen to be.  Then I'll attach a poll which asks you all who you think the pick will be.  You'll then have to the deadline I give you to vote on the pick.  And we'll continue on until we are done with the first round, which will likely be the day before the NFL Draft.  We'll then see how accurate we have been. So I figured I'd get this thing rolling now.  First up, the Miami Dolphins.   Seeing as how this is a Dolphins website so most (if not all) visitors are Dolphin fans, I don't think I really need to post our draft needs.   This is also the onl...
In The Red Zone: Patriots News and Notes
2008-03-06 18:00:00
According to Christopher Gasper of the Boston Globe, New England Patriots veteran wide receiver Troy Brown hasn’t made a decision yet about next season and that fans shouldn’t count out a return in 2008 quite just yet. A source close to Brown also said that a decision probably isn’t coming anytime soon either. “He feels great. He feels he can still play and still contribute,” said the source. “Obviously, he would have liked to have played more than that one game he played. I don’t think he’s decided whether he’s playing or not playing. A lot depends on what the Patriots do.” The source also said that either a Patriot return or retiring are not Brown’s only options. Brown would be willing to play elsewhere if there was no room for him here. It sure would be weird seeing Troy in a Dolphins, Jets or Browns uniform. In other Patriots news the team is looking at restricted free agent LB Adam Seward from Carolina Panthers...
In The Red Zone: Free Agency Day 4

TE Alge Crumpler has a two year deal with the Tennessee Titans for which the terms aren’t available yet. DE Bobby McCray signed a five-year contract with the New Orleans Saints, terms were not disclosed. The Chicago Bears traded QB Brian Griese to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers it will be his second go around with John Gruden’s team. The Pittsburgh Steelers signed QB Ben Roethlisberger to an 8-year $102 million contract extension with $36 million in guarantees. Excuse me while I call my new friend Ben. The New York Giants signed S Sammy Knight no terms were released. Two days ago it was reported that the Miami Dolphins had signed Calvin Pace but something must have fallen apart somewhere and now the New York Jets signed LB Calvin Pace to a 6-year $42 million contract with $22 million in guarantees and RT Damien Woody, a former Patriot, to a 5-year $25.5 million contract with $11 million guaranteed. The Atlanta Falcons released RB Warrick Dunn one day after signing “The B...

Zach Thomas recently appeared on a Mike and Kevin’s talk radio show in Dallas and had the following to say regarding his decision to go to Dallas. The New England Patriots brought in former Miami Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas on Monday. They wanted to talk to Thomas and see where he was medically. Keyshawn Johnson Coming To The Miami Dolphins? Terrell Owens Wins.
2008-02-15 23:24:00
I’m a little late on this story, but I got such a kick out of it that I just HAD to post this. So Keyshawn Johnson is apparently mulling over a possible return to the NFL to play for the Miami Dolphins. Having his close buddy Bill Parcell’s running the show in South Beach has made his return to the game a little bit more enticing. All of this makes me think back to December, when Terrell Owens and Keyshawn got into it and T.O. pulled Keyshawn’s ho card: “I’m probably the reason he’s in the booth now. He’s going to be a hater and throw me under the bus because he has to defend Bill. He won a Super Bowl and all, but you’d have to check the roster to know he was even on the team. “We came out in the same year. He was a first-rounder and I was a third. Go compare our stats. He couldn’t come down here now and be a third or fourth receiver on this team. Just compare our stats.” Terrell called Keyshawn’s skills and career into question, an...

I am sure a lot of you have already seen the Mercury Morris commercial having a cookout with other 72′ Dolphins in “Perfectville”. Miami Dolphins Mock Drafts Around the Net
2008-01-30 06:05:00
It's that time again...time to take a few minutes and go around the internet and see what's being said about our Miami Dolphins and their #1 pick.  This was a popular feature last year, so hopefully you'll enjoy it this year as well.  Let's get to it. -NFL Draft Countdown: Chris Long Odds are Bill Parcells will try to trade down but the question is will anyone want to move up? Not only would it be costly in terms of draft picks but then they will have to worry about negotiating a huge, #1 overall pick contract as well. If they stay put the Dolphins will likely be zeroing in on three players: Chris Long, Glenn Dorsey and Jake Long. Knowing Parcells the smart money is certainly on defense and in a photo finish Howie's boy gets the nod. Not only is Long a perfect fit for Miami's 3-4 scheme but he also brings the type of intensity and non-stop motor that "The Tuna" covets. -Footballs Future: Glenn Dorsey The Phins need playmakers. Dorsey is an anchor on the defensive...

NFL Draft Strategy: The Miami Dolphins
2008-01-24 08:12:00
To keep up with my writing quota during the NFL off-season, I?ll be taking a team-by-team look at draft day strategy. I?ll follow it up with my NFL mock draft about two weeks before the draft. (I understand that we're not in the off-season yet, but I can't stand the bye week...especially when the Patriots are involved)For the next couple of months, just consider me the Mel Kiper Jr. of Bleacher Report?complete with fantastic hair and an undeserved sense of self appreciation.Since the Dolphins have been on the clock since mid-October, we?ll start with them.Outside of running-back, the Dolphins are a team in need of a complete roster overhaul. They?re either old, thin, or empty at every position. The smart move would be to trade out of the number one overall pick and try to get as many first day picks as possible. If they stick with the first overall pick (which they probably will, as there might be a fan revolt in Miami if they suffered through Cam Cameron and aren?t rewarded with t...
