The Life of Michael Beasley
2008-06-18 16:25:00
As the NBA draft approaches, ESPN is doing great videos on some of the top prospects in the draft. Most people know these guys can play, but these videos are great because it shows you the players character and their work ethic. In this video, they show him working on his basketball skills, shopping at the Adidas store and enjoying his friends company.Seems like a normal NBA player, right? I thought it was odd to see his desire for the Timberwolves to get a top pick in the draft. To be honest, I don't think he's the top prospect. He seems like a versatile, complete ball player, but I've heard great things about O.J. Mayo's work ethic.Recently, Timberwolves.com did an interview with Mayo's college coach Tim Floyd. This really stands out:Mayo's been quoted on ESPN saying that basketball is his life. Have you been around a player that's as focused on being great?I have not. A lot of guys talk it, but O.J. acted it out. The day he got here, he started waking our players up at 7 a....
Numbers and D. Wade rumors
2008-06-04 10:40:00
Upon release of the numbers of test results and drills at the NBA draft combine in Orlando, I was surprised at some of the numbers, but wasn’t to concerned. Michael Beasley who had been listed from 6′8 to 6′10 measured in at 6′7 without shoes, and 6′8 ¼ with. What does that mean? Absolutely nothing really. He has ...
Michael Beasley Doesn?t Measure Up, Doesn?t Care
2008-06-04 09:32:00
The NBA’s pre-draft measurements are in and as usual people shrunk when transitioning from college hoops to the pros. Brook Lopez is a 7-footer in shoes, but Kevin Love, D.J. Augustin, and Michael Beasley ended up being shorter than advertised. That doesn’t bother Beasley at all. Listed at 6-foot-10 at K-State, 6-9 last summer with Team USA, ...
Still Can?t Believe It
2008-05-28 17:58:00
It?s been a week and I still can?t believe how lucky us Bulls fans are. Last Tuesday night the Bulls were more than just lucky to jump over eight teams to win the #1 pick. They were lucky enough to have a new rebuilding plan fall into their laps. In two months, no matter who ...
2008 NBA Mock Draft
2008-05-26 23:29:00
1. Chicago Bulls - Derrick Rose (PG - Memphis)Really I think that Beasley is the best fit for the Bulls since then need a low-post scorer. However, Rose is simply the best player in the draft and the Bulls will take the best available. Plus he's a Chicago-native so he'll draw in a crowd.2. Miami Heat - Michael Beasley (PF - Kansas State)Wow, what a catch at #2! Who won't pack the house to see the high-flying trio of Marion, Beasley, and Wade! Beasley will no doubt bring the Heat back to the post-season in the East. However, don?t sleep on the possibility of Riles dealing the pick down for a couple of quality players.3. Minnesota Timberwolves - O.J. Mayo (PG - USC)Although some skeptics have him dropping as of late, we are still high on O.J. This cat has amazing size and athletic abilities for a point guard. He?s NBA ready. Although the Twolves currently have quite a few PGs he is more of a scoring PG and would suit big Al Jefferson's skill set perfectly!4. Seatle Supersonics - J...
The NBA draft?s order
2008-05-21 03:01:00
After everyone hoping for a Miami resurgence, it is not so. With less than a 2% chance of winning the #1 spot, the Chicago Bulls got it. So it’s either Derrick Rose or Michael Beasley, right? The Bulls have enough good guards that this seems to be a no-brainer. Take Beasley and they ...
El gran dilema: Michael Beasley vs Derrick Rose
2008-04-25 15:51:00
Michael BeasleyVirtudes: B...
Draft Watch: Tyler Hansbrough
2008-03-31 06:25:00
I’m sorry I couldn’t see Joakim Noah’s career night of 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks in the Bulls 114-111 win over the visiting Milwaukee Bucks. I was too busy watching Tyler Hansborough leading the North Carolina Tar Heels to a 83-73 victory of the Louisville Cardinals. Hansbrough numbers were killer, 28 points and ...
Keep Those Dancin Shoes Out Wildcat Fans!

Wildcat NewsThe elephant has left the building and the Aging Disco Diva can bask in the glow of a big, big, big, big Kansas State University Men's basketball win this evening:(11) Kansas State 80 --- (6) USC 67Kansas State's Kiddie Corps Moving OnBy PAUL NEWBERRYTurns out, Michael Beasley and O.J. Mayo weren't the only freshmen on the court.Redshirt freshman Bill Walker scored 22 points, true freshmen Jacob Pullen and Ron Anderson also reached double figures, and Kansas State's Kiddie Corps moved on in the NCAA tournament, beating Mayo-led USC 80-67 in the opening round Thursday night.Beasley overcame early trouble to have another big game for the Wildcats (21-11), scoring 23 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for the 27th double-double of his brilliant ? and likely only ? college season. The NBA beckons, after all.But 11th-seeded Kansas State is used to big things from Beasley. It was his supporting cast that made the difference.Walker carried the load in the early going, scoring...

Repaso NCAA: Una semana más, espectacular Michael Beasley
2008-03-03 11:32:00
Freshman Phenoms Teams Struggling As Dance Is Upon Us
2008-03-02 03:09:00
O.J Mayo and Michael Beasley are two of the best freshman playing college basketball this season. Both players are averaging over 20 points per contest, and both decided not to go to the elite basketball programs like Duke, North Carolina, Kansas or Indiana. Despite how much game these future NBA All-Stars have, both Mayo and Beasley are having a hard time getting to the big dance next month. They both are seeing that basketball is a team game, and neither of these guys have the supporting cast to carry them into the field of 65. So they have to carry their teams themselves. Beasley looked like his Wildcats had all but wrapped up an at large bid. However they are back on the bubble again after losing four out of the last five games including losses to Nebraska and Texas Tech. USC has won two straight since losing at home to arch rival UCLA, but still is looking for another good win to put on their resume. They beat UCLA at UCLA earlier in January, but that is their only good win. Lo...
Michael Beasley: Profile
2008-02-03 12:27:00
The World Through Purple Sunglasses!!

I got very little sleep last night and am still on an adrenaline rush. Here are some great videos of last night's game and celebrations:
The Streak Ends! Wildcats Win.
2008-01-31 06:30:00
I know I said that I would not be posting this evening but the Aging Disco Diva is lit up like Christmas tree...I spent the greater part of this evening screaming my head off, pacing like a woman possessed and consuming adult beverages as I watched my Wildcats BEAT our much hated rival. Damn that sounds good. There is no way I will be able to fall asleep for hours... I am still on an adrenalin high. I cried like a baby at the end of this game. Only a fellow Wildcat could understand the depth of the pain we have suffered for the last 24 years. In fact I tivo'd the game and am watching it again. Hell, I might watch it two or three times before I go to bed.Final score KSU 84 and KU 75...and that was despite some really crappy refereeing. Beasley was practically violated several times during the game and nothing was called. For once though, I will admit that KU actually had SOME calls made against them and Bill Toupee Self about flipped his rug several times. And oh yeah...Remember Ole...
It's Good to Be a Wildcat!
2008-01-28 04:26:00
Wildcat news The sun was a royal purple in the sky this morning for the Wildcat faithful. Our Cats destroyed Iowa State yesterday and this sets up the two unbeaten in the Big 12 teams for the big game Wednesday. It is just like in the westerns: The good guys (Kansas State University Wildcats) vs the Bad Guys (University of Kansas Chickenhawks) I will be writing a lot more about this matchup between today and Wednesday evening. Here is the recap of the action this weekend, courtesy of K-state Sports Our track and field team continued on a roll this weekend with another strong showing and our women?s basketball team was victorious yet again.( http://www.k-statesports.com ) Men?s basketball Michael Beasley had 33 points and 15 rebounds to lead Kansas State to an impressive 82-57 win over Iowa State and setting up a mammoth showdown with No. 2 Kansas on Wednesday. Beasley, who ranks fourth nationally in scoring and first in rebounding, topped 30 points for the seve...

Notre Dame Knocks Down Kansas State and Michael Beasley
2007-12-05 22:17:00
Luke Harangody had 19 points and a career-high 14 rebounds to lead Notre Dame to its fourth straight win, 68-59 over Kansas State on Tuesday night in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden. Kyle McAlarney had 18 points, including the final nine for the Fighting Irish (6-2) over the last 6 1/2 minutes. The Wildcats (5-3) closed an 11-point deficit to 61-59 on two free throws by Michael
High School: Michael Beasley
2007-04-11 23:13:00
