Rumours suggest that Michael Clarke may wed Lara Bingle
2008-02-04 12:00:00 Rumours are circulating in Australia that cricket vice-captain Michael Clarke may marry model Lara Bingle sooner than later. The Daily Telegraph quoted Clarke's manager as denying the news, but the glamour couple are reportedly preparing to announce their engagement just over a year after they got together. They were pictured shopping in Brisbane yesterday soon after the Australian team checked into a hotel. Walking hand in hand, they looked every bit the happy couple. Clarke had plenty to smile about after captaining Australia to a Twenty20 win over India in front of 84,000 spectators at the MCG on Friday night. According to the Courier Mail however, Lara was in hiding on the Sunshine Coast. The marriage speculation was running hot all weekend, with reports that Pup (Clarke’s nickname) has splashed out on a five-carat diamond ring for his future wife. Papers here are predicting that an announcement could be made before Clarke goes on a tour with the Australian team to Pakist...

Clarke reportedly woke at 1am on the morning of the match severely ill and only an intense course of medication allowed him to play.Clarke showed few signs of the illness as he compiled 130 at nearly a run a ball at Bangalore, although his good work was partly wasted as rain washed away Australia's hopes of victory. Without help from the doctor John Orchard, the Australians believed Clarke would not only have missed the Bangalore game but potentially Tuesday's match at Kochi as well."I was certainly giving him [Orchard] a high five when Pup got his hundred," Adam Gilchrist, the stand-in captain, told the Daily Telegraph . "Pup was up all night with gastro and without a medical professional there is no way he would have played."The Australian r...
