Book Review: ?The Brass Verdict? by Michael Connelly
2009-01-22 03:41:00
The plan had been a simple one. After not being  in the courtroom for two long years (addiction and other issues) defense attorney Mickey Haller was going to ease back into working at a slow pace that would safely manage the stress, the psychological temptations, and the potential for relapse. It took Judge Holder a ...
Book Review: The Closers by Michael Connelly

The way back machine has spun to a stop and kicked out another old review of mine. The Harry Bosch series has been a favorite of mine since they first started way back in the days when I was working at Bookstop. I read him, enjoyed the books, and sold the heck out of him. ...

EL ECO NEGRO - MICHAEL CONNELLY
2007-11-27 08:30:00
Review: The Overlook by Michael Connelly

Book 108 of 2007 was The Overlook by Michael Connelly. Harry Bosch series, #13.   In his first case since he left the LAPD’s Open Unsolved Unit for the prestigious Homicide Special squad, Harry Bosch is called out to investigate a murder that may have chilling consequences for national security.   A doctor with access to a dangerous radioactive ...

Harry Bosch rides again. Another cracking novel from Michael Connelly. Harry Bosch solves a murder, while all the time trying to keep the F.B.I. in line and at arms length. The F.B.I. think it is a terrorist plot, but Harry knows best and is soon proved right. An excellent read and a another rip roaring ...
Author Recommendation #3 – Michael Connelly
2007-07-05 15:41:00
My next pick is American writer Michael Connelly. A former crime reporter for the L.A. Times, Connelly brings real authority to his writing about a netherworld that few of us, fortunately, will ever have contact with. Although he has written novels outside of the series, it is the Harry Bosch storylines where Connelly’s strengths are most apparent.Like Colin Dexter’s creation, Inspector Morse, Harry Bosch is a man who ages as the series progresses, even to the point where he takes early retirement only to find, after about 3 years, that life as a private citizen does not afford the grim satisfactions to be derived from solving homicides. He therefore returns to the force and, as of his latest literary outing, is still going strong. In addition to the strengths I praised in Colin Dexter’s work (please see earlier posting), two more aspects make Connelly’s creation particularly strong for me: first, Harry has a deep sense of and yearning for justice, the genesis of which we lea...
The Overlook by Michael Connelly (Harry Bosch Series, #13)
2007-05-23 03:00:00
In his first case since he left the LAPD's Open Unsolved Unit for the prestigious Homicide Special squad, Harry Bosch is called out to investigate a murder that may have chilling consequences for national security. A doctor with access to a dangerous radioactive substance is found murdered on the overlook above the Mulholland Dam. Retracing his steps, Harry learns that a large quantity of radioactive cesium was stolen shortly before the doctor's death. With the cesium in unknown hands, Harry fears the murder could be part of a terrorist plot to poison a major American city.
