Se trata de su tercer proyecto y el primero en el que abandona a los personajes que él mismo creara para La casa de los 1000 cadáveres y Renegados del Diablo con el fin de acometer, ni más ni menos, que el remake de Halloween, el clásico de John Carpenter y precursor de otros tantos y tantos serial killers cinematográficos popularizados en la década de los 80 y 90. En esta renovada versión se pretende centrar todo el protagonismo en la figura de Michael Myers, su historia, motivaciones y trasfondo personal con la idea de refrescar la imagen que del personaje se ha formado el gran público a lo largo de sus apariciones en la gran pantalla.
