MICHAEL STRAHAN PURPOSES
2009-06-16 20:06:00
For onetime New York Giants star Michael Strahan, May 22 was a big day: He got engaged to Nicole Murphy ? and learned that the pilot for his new TV show, Brothers, had been picked up."It was a pretty great day," Strahan's manager tells PEOPLE exclusively.Strahan, 37, popped the question to Murphy (the ex-wife of actor Eddie Murphy) on a beach in the Bahamas with a stunning canary yellow and white diamond ring."I have a great relationship and she's a great girl," says Strahan, who is a father of four. "I don't like to talk much about my private life, but I'm really happy."But he says that though they've talked about it, "There aren't any plans for kids? We've got nine between us already."SOURCE

Superbowl Recap: What Does 18-1 Really Mean?
2008-02-05 00:19:00
18-1. What does it mean? Sure, I was rooting for the Giants Sunday and sure I rooted against the Patriots almost any chance I got the entire season. However, what do we owe to 18-1? Is the season marked by the Superbowl loss?Unfortunately for the Patriots, they will forever be remembered as the team to go undefeated and lose in the Superbowl. It took 35 years to have another undefeated team with a perfect record going into the superbowl and it might be another 35+ before we see it happen again. It is indeed very possible that they go down as the only NFL team to EVER go 18-0 and lose in the superbowl in the history of the world. At a wide look, a Super Bowl loss looks bad for this Patriot dynasty. The '70s Steelers 4 for 4 in their Super Bowl appearances, as were the '80s 49ers. Thus I must say that Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana are always going to have something over Tom Brady. But during those Steeler and 49er dynasties, there were years when they lost in the playoffs before re...
Patriots Have NFL?s Biggest Choke Job Ever
2008-02-04 05:10:00
The New England Patriots perfect season was shockingly broken by the New York Giants. Eli Manning orchestrated an amazing last minute game winning drive to win 17-14 in Super Bowl XLII. That drive was capped off with a 13 yard touch down to wide receiver Plaxico Burress. Burress boldly guaranteed a Giants win before the game, and ...

Linced Up: Romo Choked Edition

It was very strange to actually root for the Giants, but they came through for Eagles fans. I hate the Giants, but I despise the Cowboys even more. Seeing them lose, and then TO crying just made my weekend. TO sounded like a little baby on YouTube. “LEAVE TONY ALOOOOOOOOONE!!!!” HAHAHAHAHA I got some good links ...

MICHAEL STRAHAN MAKES TRENT GREEN/CHEAPSHOT JOKE
2007-11-01 11:52:00
After getting taken to the cleaners by his ex-wife in a divorce settlement, Michael Strahan isn’t the first person you think of when it comes to investing advice. #97 joined Jim Cramer on CNBC’s Mad Money last month to talk about football, investing, and his new book, Inside the Helmet: My Life as a Sunday Afternoon Warrior. The interview didn’t make me want to run out and buy the book, but the snippets that Cramer talked about were interesting. Here are a few things that stuck out to me: Michael Strahan had $3.3 mil in a checking account and got scammed for $1.6mil. Michael Strahan doesn’t want to take a dollar and make a million dollars. Michael Strahan owns one stock, and it’s Under Armour. The best part of the interview is at the 3:20 mark of the video when Cramer is chumming it up with Strahan and doing some play fighting. MS: Watch yourself now. I might have some flashbacks and then we’re in trouble. JC: I’m good at cheapshot. I c...
Michael Strahan wants your cheerleaders
2007-10-12 00:19:00
Per Bob via Dan via Jamie. Confused but, here goes: Strahan admits he sometimes checks out the cheerleaders during games, and even suggests that one reason that teams use them is to distract opposing teams... "The Washington Redskins get the prize in my book. Every single one of those girls is stunning." Really this is just an excuse to post pictures of cheerleaders, a duty I've neglected to meet in quite some time now. But first, a word from Greg Easterbrook, who has vigilantly noted a dramatic shift in cheerleader hegemony: Back-to-back summer-weather nationally televised games hosted by Washington and Dallas confirmed beyond doubt what NFL observers have been thinking for several years -- the Redskins cheerleaders are now the league's hottest dance team, leaving the Cowboys cheerleaders in their aesthetic dust. Twenty years ago, the Cowboys' pep squad may have been the best-looking and best-dancing in the NFL. Now, it's not even close -- the Redskins cheerleaders are No. 1 in...
Eddie?s Ex Has A New Man

Nicole Murphy (Eddie Murphy’s ex) and NY Giants defensive end Michael Strahan are dating. They were photographed enjoying a romantic dinner at Nello?s restaurant in New York City. The couple ordered two white truffles at $350 apiece and enjoyed a $750 bottle of Montrachet wine. She has fetish for men with gaps! Eddie Murphy, Michael Strahan, Nicole ...
Calling on ESPN to Bring Light to Patriots Cheating
2007-09-13 15:51:00
The New England Patriots and their head coach were caught cheating, which makes them seem like they lack a basic fundamental human trait: integrity. That's not surprising, considering their head coach, Bill Belichick, is a man who would sell his children to the highest bidder if it guaranteed him another Super Bowl win.And yes, Patriots fans (some of you, at least), we know it's just the evil media and jealous fan bases making this a much bigger story than it is. Because Billy Belichick can do no wrong. Look, you and Bill Simmons can make your excuses, but just know you're exactly the same as the folks in San Francisco (some of them) who will cling to the notion that Barry Bonds has never done steroids. The Patriots have long been suspected of cheating, but like many other sports, football is a fraternity, and unless you knew something for a fact, you didn't reveal you suspicions. Since the Patriots were caught in the act of videotaping other teams signals, nobody had to snitch o...
N.Y. Giants Thank Their Lucky Stars - Strahan Will Return [J. Mark English]
2007-09-01 01:54:00
Hats off to Jerry Reese (the Giants GM), who refused to give in to Strahan's hold out. Strahan may have had his reasons to hold out for a better contract, but Reese would have none of it, even at the risk of losing their best defensive player. As a result the Giants will remain in good financial shape as far as the salary cap is concerned, and can expect to have a solid defensive front going into the regular season. For more on the conclusion of how it all played out, here is John Branch of the New York Times:Michael Strahan will rejoin the Giants today and expects to play in the team?s regular-season opener Sunday, Sept. 9, against the Cowboys in Dallas.Strahan had not reported to the Giants since training camp opened July 27, and told the team that he was considering retirement. He gave few clues to his intentions until he informed the Giants yesterday afternoon that he would return for a 15th season.?He ultimately decided that he wanted to play,? said Tony Agnone, Strahan?s age...
Simeon Rice will not be a Redskins, neither should Michael Strahan
2007-08-02 17:52:00
Word on the street is that Michael Strahan and the Giants are as sour as ever, and Simeon Rice is still a free agent. For a defensive line that was questionable last year with virtually no personnel change, these two veterans are intriguing possibilities. First, let's put the Rice talks to pasture, per the Post: Team management received sub-par internal scouting reports on free agent end Simeon Rice, sources said, and have made no contact with the former Pro Bowler. Nor are they expected to. Fine with me. He's not the perennial 10+ sack a season DE he was even two years ago. We'll give Strahan a look: Management did instruct scouts and coaches to compile offseason reports on defensive end Michael Strahan over the winter, however. Strahan is threatening to retire and is locked in a contract impasse with the New York Giants. I don't like Michael for the drama he's currently in, and also because I think he, like Rice, simply isn't the sack monster of yesteryear. I also don't li...
Michael Strahan: Report to Camp or Retire [J. Mark English]
2007-07-30 21:29:00
What is the deal with Michael Strahan and the New York Giants? The New York Times covered the early beginnings of the saga a few days ago. Strahan has become a no-show at training camp, and the Giants are grumbling. They have contacted retired DE Simeon Rice, and to try to use him as a leverage against Strahan in case Strahan decides to hang up the cleats. I think Strahan is abusing his relationship with the Jints. If he's holding out for more money, then he is being a hypocrite. A few years ago he called out Tiki Barber for not being a team player for trying to get more money in a contract dispute. Now he is doing the same thing, and not just during the off season, but as the Giants gather for camp up in Albany. It would be understandable if he needs more money, since he lost $14 million in a lawsuit involving his ex-wife. But the Giants are not exactly going to open up the wallets just to help Strahan out with his personal financial problems.Strahan may undervalued. He is ma...
Michael Strahan Considering Retirement
2007-07-28 16:36:00
If things weren't bad enough for the New York Football Giants after Tiki Barber decided to retire, their 7-time pro bowl defensive end is considering it. After failing to report to training camp today, it was learned through Michael Strahan's agent that he is mulling retirement. Strahan missed
Michael Strahan is Considering Retirement
2007-07-27 22:53:00
After several seasons cut short to injury, we may have seen the last of Michael Strahan on the football field. Starahan failed to report to training camp today.Strahan may be seeking more money, or a new deal, but I don't think the Giants will commit anymore money to the aging sack wonder."Obviously I am disappointed that he is not here," said Coach Tom Coughlin, "He is a very important part of our team as we have talked all along. We are just going to have to wait for more information."We do not know why he is considering retirement, it is all speculation at this point. Strahan wasn't available to comment.Reports are saying the Giants may consider moving second-year pro Mathias Kiwanuka back to defensive end. He was moved to strongside linebacker in April to try to get him more playing time.
