Salzburg
2008-05-29 11:52:00 My mother in law arrives today. She is on a trip in Great Britain and comes for about one week to visit us. So tomorrow we are taking her for a trip to Salzburg. It is her birthday present and her big wish to see Salzburg and some things about Mozart and "The Sound Of Music". So a big family trip is in front of us, with mother in law and Blinky Bill our dog. It will be fun.
Back from Paris
2008-05-19 19:03:00 The weekend in Paris was absolutely fantastic. The city is just amazing, magical and extraordinary. I saw the Alec Soth show "The Space Between Us" at the Musée Jeu de Paume and it was really worthwhile to go on this trip for it. In the first room were photographs from his "Portraits" series, then came the room with works from his "Fashion Magazine" project (the third photo is taken in this room). The next room was "Dog days Bogota" then came "Sleeping by the Mississippi" and the last room was "Niagara" The prints are so wonderful in different sizes from small to really big. I spent a long time there and could not get enough from this fantastic photographs. To see the works in the books is one thing (which I also love) but to see the big prints on the wall is a totally different experience. © all images Michael WernerI also was able to spent the rest of the Saturday taking photos in Paris and I am really excited about the results. I am already looking forward to going back to Paris ...
Paris I'm coming

I will stay till Sunday evening and on Saturday I am going to go to see Alec Soth's solo show at the Musée Jeu de Paume, Place de la Concorde, Paris. I am looking forward to seeing the show. Skylines
2008-03-21 21:05:00 I am working on a new series with the title "Skylines". The statement is as follows: The white lines on a blue sky are fascinating to me. They appear for a short time and form beautiful lines on the sky, form patterns when there are more of them and then disappear as quickly as they were formed. The definition of these lines (contrails) is as follows: A contrail, also known as a condensation trail, is a ?cirrus-like?(High level cloud - Cirrus are thin, wispy clouds composed of ice crystals that originate from the freezing of super cooled water droplets and exist where temperatures are below -38 degrees Celsius) trail of condensed vapor (often resembling the tail of a kite) that is produced by jet aircraft flying at high altitudes. Contrails are produced at altitudes high enough for water droplets to freeze in a matter of seconds before they evaporate. Temperatures at such altitudes are typically below -38 degrees Celsius.Contrails form through the injection of water vapor into the ...

Mr. Chocolate
2008-01-31 20:42:00 Last Friday I did a course in French Chololaterie. It was pure fun and I really enjoyed it. I made delicious truffles flavored with portwine and fantastic Les Roches, roasted almonds with salt in dark chocolate. The surprise when you eat the little praline and they are sweet and salty at the same time is amazing. Others made chocolate with lavender or chili, petit fours and much more. It was great and after tasting so much chocolate I had enough for at least - ONE day!!!!!

Germantales
2007-05-03 22:53:00 The last post was already a few weeks ago. I was very busy with creating new works. These are the first few photos from my new series called Germantales. This series is about the cliché of the romantic German landscape we know from paintings of Caspar David Friedrich. In some ways this cliché is still true, the works are full of beauty and romantic and the colors are somehow faded and unreal.
Spring in Germany
2007-04-11 22:21:00 Spring is in Germany and this is how it looks like. The trees are in full bloom and there is a row of about 40 of this beautiful white ones next to an old building. They look like little fake ones made for model railways, absolutely amazing.
Balloon Glow
2007-04-08 19:15:00 On Good Friday we went to an event at the nearby castle where they set up their huge balloons and after sunset they brought them to glow with the rhythm of music by turning on the gas of the burners. It was an amazing and kind of surreal view to see these huge balloons in front of you and the castle in the background. Like in a cartoon where the dimensions somehow are out of order. Carnival in Germany
2007-02-21 18:45:00 It's probably not so well known in the world, but Germany is one of the worlds carnival capitals. Every small village has its paradebut the biggest ones are in Cologne, Dusseldorf and Mainz. We went to a wonderful parade in Seligenstadt near Frankfurt. It was absolutely amazing.
