One concern is migrating from FrontPage to Expression Web. Microsoft Expression Web v2 - beta 1 testing
2008-03-09 21:29:00 I'm busy testing beta 1 of Expression Web Version 2. One page from my site is shown to the left. This just arrived this week, so I have not yet been able to test every feature, let alone try the new ones. After two days of testing, though, there is one thing very clear. My prior 2 installations of Expression Web Version 1 both suffered from occasional bombs... whereas Version 2 is (so far) 100% stable. My attempt this morning of incorporating Silverlight v2 "Deep Zoom" failed because of my own lack of knowledge about Silverlight. This would seem to be ideal to close-up zoom of the super high-res photos I like to put into this site. I'll clearly need more help before I can implement this feature... There are more issues with Expression Web, and I'll go into those in the short term future.

2007-03-16 21:16:00 There is a good news for all those using Microsoft Expression Blend. The Release Candidate (RC) of Blend is now available which means its nearing completion. The user guide has been updated and it includes some new samples which looks cool. The RC is available on the Microsoft Expression Blend Web Site. So what are you waiting for, download it and checkout it out. Total File Size of Blend RC is 25.5 MB. If you do not have .Net 3.0 which is a prerequisite for Blend then you need to install that too. The Size of it is upto 50 MB.

There are also a new CTP of the Interactive Designer. I did some initial tests by exporting images to Gif and Jpegs - and it seems to work much better now, great!!! Remember to download WinFX Beta 2!

2006-08-07 15:39:02 Finally there is a CTP of Microsoft Expression Web Designer.I have been working with the Microsoft Expression softwares now for a while and I like what I see and use. I really hopes that this version of the Expression suite really fits my needs, since I work a lot with web development. The Expression Graphics Designer, which is the one i have used a lot the last few months is really nice, but I think making (small) pixelbased images which are used for web is not that smooth.Download is complete, time to install it. I will get back with some more Impressions of Expression in a while.Update: The download from the Microsoft download site did not work out correctly, but the download from connect.microsoft.com installed fine! |
