China Investigating Microsoft For Antitrust Violations. We Don't Thin
2008-06-19 11:07:00 By Steve Dickinson Both the English and the Chinese web have been rife with news of a Chinese government antitrust investigation of Microsoft's pricing of its software products. The reports initially stated the PRC State IP Office was investigating foreign software companies for selling software at higher prices in China than in their home jurisdictions. This has been a common complaint in China and many foreign software companies have been concerned China's new Anti-Monopoly Law would be used to attack legal IP monopolies obtained through copyright, patent and trademark law. However, to use the anti-monopoly law to attack high prices would undermine the foundations of IP protection. The news of such an investigation therefore raises serious concerns. It appears these reports may be false. Microsoft has stated it is unaware of any such investigation and the PRC State IP Office has issued a statement to the effect that it was not conducting any investigation and such reports were...

Microsoft Vista - The next generation bloatware

This latest version promises to deliver more decreased productivity then ever before. An operating system so overblow they've chopped it up into 6 different versions, none of which actually work. At least not until you've spend hundreds of dollars on upgrades to your system to make it run (somewhat) The popular new feature is the arrow cursor, that lets you flow through blue screens, red screens, endless pop-ups ad permission questions all in eye-popping 3D ! Just like in previous versions, Every copy of Vista is covered by Microsoft's Gold Standard - Sinkhole of support. Is it any wonder we ask "Where are we going today?" Read More...

Ichan Asks Yahoo to Sell to Microsoft for $49.5 Billion
2008-06-08 15:51:00 Carl Ichan who is looking to seal a takeover offer from Microsoft before Yahoo's annual board meeting on August 1st, has asked Yahoo to publicly offer to sell itself to Microsoft for $49.5 billion or $34.375 per share and to ditch the employee compensation package valued at $2.4 billion. Yang, current CEO at Yahoo, is currently in a tough spot over previous negotiations; however, this announcing the deal may allow him to save face and please the majority of Yahoo's stockholders. Yang may still push to keep the employee compensation package making the offer $51.9 billion. This way everyone gets what they want from the deal, as long as Microsoft agrees to that high of an offer, but either way it looks like in just a few months we will finally see Microsoft acquire Yahoo.

Microsoft Videos BETA launched: Another attempt to push Silverlight?
2008-06-06 23:11:00 Microsoft Videos lets us explore and watch Microsoft?s collection of online video. The whole experience is built using Microsoft Silverlight platform. The site is a collection of all types of Microsoft videos which includes demos, advertisements, tutorials, press releases, Microsoft Research videos etc. We can scan through Quick Picks for the latest videos, or enter a search for a particular video and we can also choose from one of the given Video Categories. I personally liked the site. It has got some useful demo videos especially for Expression Studio and I being a developer loved it as it isnt quite easy to find free demo videos for Microsoft Expression suite on the Internet. Though I also think that the site wont really appeal the average Joe and it seems like the only purpose of Microsoft behind this website is to push their Silverlight technology more into main stream.
