It is one of the strongest housing markets in the Midwest besides being the capital city. According to the NAR a gain last year of 14.4% to a median price of $108,600. Real estate bubbles elsewhere in the country have gone flat, Springfield looks better and better. The key here is housing is affordable. And that makes my job as a realtor here in the home city of Old Abe a very wonderful career. I am feeling very lucky when I see the reports of other parts of the country. We don't have the boom cycles but luckily we are not experiencing the bust cycle. Now if we could just do something about the weather! |
