Chocolate chip de Miles Davis
2009-01-23 16:34:00
{play}mp3/Choco...
Miles Davis - Bitches Brew
2008-09-07 20:46:00
Simply put, Bitches Brew is the most revolutionary album in jazz history. Having virtually created the genre known as jazz-rock fusion (for better or worse) and being the jazz album to most influence rock and funk musicians, Bitches Brew is, by its very nature, mercurial. The original double LP included only six cuts and featured ...

Miles Davis - ?Freedom Jazz Dance ft. Nas & Olu Dara?
2007-08-18 00:16:00
A lot of you young heads might not comprehend, appreciate, or must less even respect this. But truth be told, Jazz had signficant influence on the sculpting and emergence of modern hip-hop we listen to on a daily basis. Just think about it, what is the premise of Jazz? Improvisation, remind you of something? Yea, ...
Improvisation – Iraq’s Miles Davis – Kind of Blue
2007-04-23 16:55:00
“He has become a great improviser, the Miles Davis of the war.â€Edward Wong – NY Times.com In a vacuum, power is something so many and too many with different ideas about how something should be; fight for. Moktada al-sadr is one of those people. Where he is interested in an Iraq without outside involvement, he realizes the best bet for this scenario is to wait on the American efforts in Iraq to come to a somewhat stabilizing fruition. Like our Democrat leadership, although much less interested in an American defeat, a senior Iraqi official said of al-sadr: “Mr. Sadr’s thinking was in constant evolution, groping for a workable strategy for the war.†From the NY Times: “Perhaps nothing is more surprising than the fact that Mr. Sadr’s attitude toward the Americans actually reflects a degree of ambivalence.†“Anti-Americanism is the basis of his unflagging popularity. More than any other Iraqi politician, he is willing to recognize, validate and capitali...

Miles Davis - Miles In The Sky
2007-03-01 00:06:03
With ‘Miles In The Sky’, Miles Davis began to consciously incorporate elements of popular music and blues into the quintet’s open-ended style of group improvisation. This was an attempt to reach out, not sell out. By 1968, groups such as the Beatles had stretched the parameters of the pop song form way beyond their ...
Miles Davis - Porgy And Bess
2007-02-24 06:03:01
Of all Gil Evans’ orchestral scores for soulmate Miles Davis, ‘Porgy And Bess’ is his richest and most ambitious–a watershed of modern jazz harmony which served to secure Davis’ pop star stature and define his brooding mystique. Inevitably, even non-jazz listeners own a copy of ‘Porgy And Bess’ or ‘Sketches Of Spain’. Like ‘Miles Ahead’, ...
Miles Davis - On The Corner
2007-01-22 05:26:11
‘On The Corner’ enjoys a special cult status among musicians, anticipating as it does the punk funk/acid jazz movements. For Miles Davis, ‘On The Corner’ was another seismic shift. Miles was particularly fond of the lyric sweep of Hendrixian electric guitar, the James Brown-like rhythmic thump of Fender bass, and the bell-like timbre and chordal ...
Miles Davis - Pop, Reflections in Music by Miles Davis (1973
2006-12-23 16:18:01
Here we have a record that it is really out of Loronix style, but it is close to Christmas and it is a zecalouro's mother advice. I found this more than a few months ago at home, since then, zecalouro's mother keeps saying that I need to put this record at Loronix, she says that I use to hear to it several times when I was a kid, so it should be good to Loronix, etc. You known these things.Mom's advice could never be ignored, so let's see what happens. This is Miles Davis - POP, New Directions in Music by Miles Davis (1973), for Columbia, the Brazilian issue of a Miles Davis record that I could never associate with the USA release, featuring Hermeto Pascoal, Airto Moreira, John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter. The participation of Hermeto Pascoal and Airto Moreira was important to make my decision to post this experimental LP, just a few songs and some long tracks with improvisations.I don't know why zecalouro's mon likes this record. Perhaps she is celebrating th...

Miles Davis - Live At Fillmore East (March 7, 1970): It?s Ab
2006-12-07 04:35:02
The creative vision of Miles Davis was at its most mercurial in the late ’60s and early ’70s. He advanced the language of jazz (and pop) not just with each album, but practically with each gig. A perfect case in point is this live two-disc set. ‘Live At Fillmore East’ is like manna from heaven [...]
