This review is from the point of view of someone who is only level 22 on their main character. So take everything I say with a bit of salt. First off, comparing this to World of Warcraft is going to be hard. There are some similar aspects, but mostly they made a different kind of MMORPG. Some of which I like, some of which I am unsure about as of yet. But before I get into game mechanics and playability and all that I think I will write a bit about system specs, visuals and such. They say that such MMORPG will probably be one of the four upcoming titles based on the Final Fantasy XIII timeline, titled Final Fantasy Haeresis XIII. At the same time they confirmed that they'll unveil some info on their upcoming new MMORPG (that according to previous rumors will be published for the PS3 and Windows Vista and is being developed by the same team as FFXI) at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.Is this a coincidence? I don't know, but as things stand now, everything is possible.After all it's more than probable that the leap of S-E in the world of next-gen MMORPGS will be another installment of their most important franchise. Maybe even a direct sequel of Final Fantasy XI. As someone that played Final Fantasy XI for four years, I honestly can't wait. EVE TV's Live Broadcast of the EVE Fanfest 2007
2007-11-05 22:55:00 For thoses of us who could not make it to this year's fanfest, EVE TV had a special gift for us. This past Saturday, at 1200GMT, EVE TV started broadcasting Live from Reykjavik. Though family responsibilities prevented me from watching the broadcast from start to finish, I was able to sit through most of Nathan's (aka Oveur) presentation and managed to see Hilmar's full presentation.The first impression I got from viewing the broadcast was a sense of belonging, a strange sensation that though Iceland lay an ocean away, somehow through the magic of modern communication part of me was there. Call it virtual eyeballs or whatever, but I felt a touch of the excitement of my fellow EVE citizens.Thank you EVE TV for gave us the opportunity to witness all the exciting news as it was divulged to the fanfesters (is that a word?). Speaking of which, I do recall that spiralJunkie mentioned that the clips and broadcast would be available next Saturday. So for those that missed the entire show... |
