Looking for Silicone Molds?
2008-04-21 09:44:00
If you are looking for silicone molds to make your soaps or soap inserts for your melt and pour soaps, here is a source for you:Silicone Zone USA (http://www.siliconezoneusa.com-/). They do carry some shapes for soap inserts. Also, you may want to check out Wholesale Supplies Plus (http://www.wholesalesuppliespl-us.com/) because they started carrying the Wilton line of silicone bakeware including the muffins trays.Of course there is the stand by and check out Ebay (www.ebay.com). That is where I found alot of my flexible ice cube trays to make some of my soap inserts. Some of the retail outlets that sells flexible ice cube trays are IKEA, Linens-n-Things and Bed, Bath and Beyond. But just to warn you that these items are seasonal so they might not be offerred all year round. Most of the time they will be sold around the time they are putting out their merchandise for summer. If I find any other sources, I will let you know.

Cold Process Soap Molds and Bevellers
2008-01-24 19:23:00
If you make your soap by the cold process method and you are looking for a great mold to pour your soap mixture in, I would recommend purchasing F&D Soap Mold & Cutter Box for 4 LB Batch from Mission Peak Soap in Fremont. It is a great quality mold and cutter that will create a batch yields 18 bars weighing approximately 4.5 ounces each. The mold comes with complete instructions and a couple of sample mold-liners to get you started. The price of this great mold and cutter is $70.00.I would also recommend the F&D Soap Beveller from Mission Peak Soap. The Beveller puts a beautiful 45 degree bevel on the edge of your soap with a safe, thin wire. The bevel gives your soap a gorgeous, jewel-like appearance and will help open doors to a new, upscale, clientele. This beveller is itself a real work or art - handmade in the USA from native hardwood. A multi-position adjustment gives you the option of either small or large bevels. The price of this beveller is $75.00.I am planning...
Making Loaf Soap with Bread Tube Molds
2007-12-15 20:20:00
Instructions:- Melt approximately 2 oz. of soap base.- Fill metal end cap of loaf mold with this melted soap so that it fills the end cap ¾ of the way full.- Immediately insert the loaf mold into the end cap and stand straight up with the opening at the top. Other end cap will not be used.- Place the mold in the freezer for approximately 15 minutes to allow the soap to harden or let harden at room temperature for approximately 1 hour. This will seal the bottom of the mold so that your warm soap base will not run out the bottom when poured.- Once the bottom is completely sealed, pour melted soap base into the mold so that it completely fills up to the top.- Let soap dry at room temperature for approximately 3-4 hours until the soap is completely hard.- When completely dry, remove end cap from the bottom. Peel away any soap that is sticking to the sides.- To remove the loaf of soap from the mold, warm the outside of the mold slightly with a hair dryer for approximately 2-3 minutes.- P...

Flexible Ice Cube Trays/Silicone Molds
2007-09-20 20:23:00
I normally make soap embellishments for my melt and pour soap with flexible ice cube trays. They come in a variety of different shapes/themes. I found that is best to hand wash the ice cube trays because the dishwasher gets so hot that it warps the item out of shape.I also use Silicone Muffin Pans in various shapes to make a variety of soaps. I have not put them in the dishwasher, but the clean up is so easy that I just hand wash them.

When God molds and opens opportunities
2007-08-29 02:28:00
When I graduated March 25, 2007, I didn't have anything in mind but to review for the Licensure Examination for Teachers. I thought, I can better start with any job that comes along the way if I'm already a professional license carrier. There's a greater chance of getting hired to any institution, higher compensation and greater opportunities for promotion, privileges and other advantages. But that plan was twisted when God showered me with good breaks. I already had my application form that time and the only thing left to do is to pay for the 2-month weekends review in my Alma Mater when Kuya Aldwin sent me an e-mail telling me to be his partner for supervising an adolescent reproductive health research project in Region VI. He told me about the benefits and the advantages of indulging in this activity and the things I needed to do. Besides, it's research and it means new learning, new experiences, new adventure -and that's priceless. So, I kept my application form and pre...

I've never really liked Jello molds.....
2007-07-27 00:05:00
Slowly, yet surely, I am losing my mind.  Not that it has ever been considered one of my biggest assets but it is definietly eroding from me now like the shifting sands on an unstable fault line. I'm not quite sure that I'm able to pinpoint a cause although several reasons have been tendered.  1)  Years of self medication are catching up with me.  I quit smoking just over a year ago and hopped on the proverbial wagon last October.  One would think that any lingering adverse side-effects would have cleared my system by now.  (My metabolism has slowed quite a bit these past few years but I doubt seriously that is my problem.)  2)  I was dropped as a child.  Lots of fodder for a strong argument here, although my permanent medical record fails to provide unequivical proof.  3)  I was really, really bad in a previous life and am now being handed my just due.  Well, this argument is pretty ridiculo...
