They talked and chatted about economic progress and North American security. Anything wrong with that...overall I would say no. After all we live in a capitalist society where the vast majority of people want to buy things and need to buy things; and the way to do that is by earning some good cold hard cash through an economic system of supply and demand. Were their discussions really a step toward North America spiralling out of control into a blackhole were the United States ruled everything and made all the decisions...for crying out loud we are already there. Now we had all these protestors, people with too much time on there hands, gathering around screaming shouting "Down with SPP and NACC!", ask the people and what not. These are the people that will scream foul one minute and then go back to their urban centres and drink their double-latte at Starbucks...

2007-08-22 15:35:00 IntroPhotos and video published today by activists at the North American Leader's Summit in Montebello, Quebec, have revealed what protesters have known for a long time: Canada's police are paid to go "undercover," dressed as activists, in order to provoke protesters into acts of violence. Three (alleged) police officers are seen in the video posted on YouTube (below) to be inciting confrontation with union leaders and riot cops. One is holding a rock, and the three push union leaders as members of CUPE (Canadian Union of Public Employees) shout "You're a cop! Take off your mask!" The use of provocateurs by Canada's law enforcement agencies is not new news, but solid proof of such despicable acts of sabotage are more rare. The above gallery photo offers some concrete evidence that these three "protesters" if not cops, somehow found the same police-issued riot cop boots to wear to the summit. I don't know what the police thought the demonstrators were going to do, but man, were they ready for it. It was difficult to get a photo without a cop in it. "Watch the young ones wearing bandanas," I heard a veteran advise a rookie.The folks wearing the bandanas belong to the PGA Bloc, which, although non-violent, tends to be more confrontational.
