Nanotechnology And The Nokia Morph Concept
2008-03-31 08:06:00 I do not really know if the new technology developed by Nokia Research Center and the University of Cambridge is called ?Morph? accidentally or on purpose. I mean, take a look at the phone, the way it is almost bent in to a circle and the color of the entire thing. The glowing green, the awesome 3-D flexibility and the ability to change shape at will- all adding up to a world out of ?The Matrix?. So I guess Nokia named it after ?Morpheus?, the man who gave Neo to all of us. So, finally someone is paying a tribute to Morpheus; great news indeed! Morph was launched alongside the ?Design and the Elastic Mind? exhibition, on view from February 24 to May 12, 2008, at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. Morph is a concept that demonstrates how future mobile devices might be stretchable and flexible, allowing the user to transform their mobile device into radically different shapes. So basically you can change it in to a circle, a sphere and maybe even a cone to put your ice cream...

Morph Concept by Nokia
2008-03-25 11:14:00 Having a perfect form factor for any phone is a tedious task for every handset manufacturer because each individual has different needs. But if this concept better known as Morph is turned into a reality in the future, then it can definitely solve company?s design problems. How? Morph is based on the concept of nanotechnology which helps the device to be flexible and stretchable making it convertible in different shapes. So a user can change morph the phone into a conventional looking phone, a wrist phone or any other shape. It has been developed by Nokia in conjunction with the University of Cambridge and is being exhibited at Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

2008-03-13 04:08:00 The Nokia Phone is one hot gadget. It uses Nano technology to self-clean its surface and can be charged with solar energy. It also has integrated sensors, not to mention quite the cool headset feature as well. This phone, recently featured at the MOMA in New York, can be bent and stretched into many shapes by the user. You could fold it to fit in your pocket, and then stretch it out when using it to view smaller details. Frankly, the idea's quite hard for me to grasp, since it's quite otherworldy indeed! Time for a trip to the Museum of Modern Art, and .........

Nokia morph
2008-02-27 07:00:00 Nokia has just rolled out its Morph concept - a long-term concept handset that was joint developed with the folks from the University of Cambridge. This cell phone is based on nanotechnology developments that could be very real in future products, and has been split into a couple of devices consisting of a detachable speaker that either clips onto the ear as a headset or connects to the main phone as a speaker. As for the phone itself, it utilizes nanotechnology to bring a touch screen display that is both translucent and flexible. Perhaps future iterations on the Morph will see a self-cleaning touch screen display, making pesky fingerprints a thing of the past. Nokia claims that certain components in its Morph concept will ship in products within the next seven years - I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this

Nokia’s nanotech Morph goes on display, signals melting devices in our fu
2008-02-26 08:22:00 Why is Nokia always trying to outdo everyone with its fancy-schmancy concepts and designs? Why can’t they just get in line and keep it simple? We may never know the answer to those questions, but what we do know is that the company is presenting a new concept device called the Morph that would be right at home… in the year 3000. The unit is included in the MoMA’s “Design and the Elastic Mind†exhibition catalog, and boasts the ability to stretch and flex to almost any shape a user could think of. The nanotechnology-based device would deliver transparent electronics, self-cleaning surfaces, and the malleability to transform into any number of configurations. Of course, the actual technology required to put this together is years or even decades away, though Nokia expects to see some of these innovations making their way into high-end products within seven years. See the device doing its thing in some photos after the break.
