Google Street View en Stop Motion
2009-04-06 13:16:00

Music Review: The Unborn Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Ramin Djawad
2009-02-23 00:09:00
With less than a decade in the business German composer Ramin Djawadi scored his first Grammy nomination last year with his highly acclaimed Iron Man score. Music Review: The Uninvited - Original Motion Picture Score, by Christopher
2009-02-17 03:59:00
Composer Christopher Young is no stranger to the horror genre. He’s worked on the infamous Hellraiser and A Nightmare on Elm Street franchises as well as on Species, The Grudge (1 and 2), and The Dark Half. In fact, with over 90 movie composition credits to his name, his very second movie was a horror ...

Music Review: The Reader Original Motion Picture Score, by Nico Muhly
2009-01-19 01:36:00
Though young composer Nico Muhly has only one major film to his credit (the rather poorly recieved The Omen knockoff Joshua), he received a Masters in Music from Julliard and worked extensively with Philip Glass, which partly explains why director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours) would put his trust in a fairly new-to-the-scene twenty-something ...
Music Review: Music From The Motion Picture The Curious Case of Benjamin Bu
2009-01-19 01:01:00
Often films are driven as much by their scores as their soundtracks, or vice-versa. Typically, a record company releases one or the other to the public, occasionally releasing both if the audience is there and if the music is worthy. At times, such releases will be score/soundtrack compilations, something of a “best of” collection of ...
Music Review: Underworld: Rise of the Lycans Original Motion Picture Soundt
2009-01-13 04:44:00
While all fans of the Underworld films have come to expect epic vampire- and werewolf-filled battle sequences, the more musical fans have also come to expect top-notch soundtracks filled with a high level of quality tracks, often almost doubling as something like a rock/industrial score. And the soundtrack to the third film in the series doesn’t ...

Music Review: Yes Man Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, music by Eels
2008-12-11 03:46:00
With its slapstick trailer and gimmicky concept, Yes Man, the latest Jim Carrey comedy vehicle, doesn’t seem like the kind of film that would have a soundtrack worth caring about (especially since the soundtrack for the trailer itself leaves much to be desired). But director Peyton Reed, also a producer of the soundtrack for the film (surprise), has an ace up ...
The Perpetual Motion Engine
2008-12-09 18:13:00
i was wondering if it was possible to keep an engine going without any fuel at all, imagine it was cranked over, then the force of turning it over could keep it turning, and each time it went over the weight would push it round again.
Music Review: Max Payne Original Motion Picture Score, music by Marco Beltr
2008-11-26 16:38:00
“It was a good gig… quick, dirty and fun.” So say co-composers Marco Beltrami and Buck Sanders on their work scoring director John Moore’s dark actioner Max Payne. The film itself is a bleak, emotionally sterile adaptation of a shoot-em-up video game, starring Mark Wahlberg as the titular Max. Backing up the film’s dreary landscapes is Beltrami ...
Music Review: Synecdoche, New York Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, by J
2008-11-26 16:11:00
With as many impressively high-profile (or at least high-brow) films as Jon Brion has to his name, it’s almost more impressive that he’s scored so few films overall. It seems that Brion, the man who composed music for I Heart Huckabees, Punch-Drunk Love, Magnolia, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, tends towards movies that are ...
Perpetual motion, if the initial force is ignored, Possible?
2008-11-26 03:57:00
If we alter the definition of a 'Perpetual Motion Machine/Device', ignoring the initial force needed to get it started, if that force, however large or small, was not taken into account, have you and can you think of a 'device' which would need no extra power of any kind, that would work? It ne

Music Review: The Guitar Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
2008-11-10 00:51:00
Amy Redford, daughter of famed actor/director and sundance founder Robert Redford, has created her feature film debut - a relatively small independent film about a young woman (Saffron Burrows) who discovers that the tumor in her throat is cancerous and that she is terminally ill. The ensuing story is a fanciful tale of self-indulgence and ...
Music Review: Nobel Son Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, music by Paul O
2008-11-09 18:19:00
Premiering at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival, Randall Miller’s indie flick (these days even a film with Danny DeVito, Bill Pullman, Eliza Dushku, Alan Rickman and Mary Steenburgen can be considered indie) Nobel Son received a warm critical welcome, and will be hitting theatres in December of this year. Nobel Son is essentially a story of family dysfunction, centering ...

In 2004, when the original Saw was released as a relatively unknown indie horror film, who could have predicted that in 2008 the Saw franchise would be hitting its fifth film and be all but credited with the creation of a new genre of horror - torture porn? Music Review: Appaloosa Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, by Jeff Beal
2008-10-22 22:11:00
Jeff Beal’s score for the Ed Harris western Appaloosa opens with a gritty rattle that builds into a boot-stomping mix between epic and oater in a way that leaves little doubt that this composition will be working hard to live up to its cover artwork (featuring Ed Harris staring squint-eyed at his gun with a black-clad, goateed ...
