Grand Jury Indicts Father in Killing of Motorcyclist
2008-05-28 11:54:00 From all I have read about this it seemed like a bad shoot. Out of all of the options available to the father he made the wrong choice. I agree with his intent to protect his daughters but his methods were poor.

He was standing with a .40-caliber semiautomatic pistol in the driveway when they arrived. Mough was shot in the back when he came by a second time.The girls said they left at the same time as Mough, who cut them off, and that "There is evidence of a collision between Mough's motorcycle and the vehicle operated by Gear's daughters," said Berry. Instead of slowing down (the smart thing to do), he decided to pass all the cars by moving into the left lane. Can you guess what happened next? If you said: You would be right! Instead of slowing down he ran his bike straight into a Chevy . I'm a bike guy, but off the top of my head I know I can name hundreds of cars that I'd rather crash into than a Suburban! People. You need to pay attention out there. Just because you're on a fast, maneuverable bike doesn't mean you are immune from traffic. Don't get me wrong... In some situations it certainly , but you also need to have the common sense to know when to slowly putter your bike along with the cars rather than try some some death-defying maneuver to save a few seconds off your ride. His son was OK, but Arnold received 15 stitches in his upper lip. He had been riding for years in Pacific Palisades and Malibu Canyon without having a license and was unlicensed at the time of the accident. There was some confusion about this as the LAPD "decided not to issue a citation" to the Governor. The reason they gave was that, with the sidecar, the motorcycle was actually a vehicle and the M1 endorsement only covers vehicles. The C endorsement covers cars and light trucks with two or more axles and they classified his Harley with a sidecar as a . How ridiculous is that? ... In any case, Arnold has apparently went through the necessary channels to get his M1 endorsement and can now ride his bikes without the fear (yeah right) of getting his bikes impounded or going to jail like the rest of us... - Richard

The two bikes couldn't have been more different. One was a brand new sports-bike, gleaming lazily in the pale early morning sun. The machine was fairly dazzling, its sleek, rakish lines and arresting colors clearly betraying its purpose. The other was patently nondescript. It may have been black - I can't clearly recall now. 2007-06-09 10:28:00 EDMONTON - A 56-year-old motorcyclist was killed Thursday night in a collision with a Yellow taxi cab making a left turn at a south-side intersection. Police believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash. The taxi was southbound on 96th Street around 9 p.m., waiting to turn left at 74th Avenue, while the motorcyclist was travelling north at a high rate of speed, police said. The cab driver, who was unable to gauge how fast the motorcycle was going, made his turn. The motorcycle clipped the cab's rear end, throwing the motorcyclist about nine metres down the road, police said. The man was rushed to hospital, where he died. No charges have been laid.
