In order to accomodate the schedules of more volunteers we are going to open the studio for longer hours on Wednesday nights and add in a few more weekends... in fact the studio will be open THIS Saturday at 10a.m. read more
Shake, rattle & roll
2008-04-18 17:07:00
I knew I wasn't dreaming when my house began to shake around 4:45 this morning, but my wife insisted that she felt nothing. I checked the house, looked out the windows and found everything as normal as always. It wasn't until later when I realized that a 5.2 magnitude earthquake occurred just after 4:30 ... 265 miles south in West Salem, Ill. Did anyone else notice the quake this morning?

Playlot designs to be unveiled
2008-03-25 15:27:00
Come out at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Mt. Greenwood Park Fieldhouse to see the designs that will become a major part of the new playlot. This will be your only chance to see the designs and have any final input on them before they are turned in to the beautiful mosaics. Elements of the designs came from residents of Mt. Greenwood. We have had many of the area schools get involved, as well as art clubs, a brownie troop, and the many individuals (young and old) that came to the design workshops at the park. We have been very impressed by the amount and quality of the submissions we received. read more

The former Mount Greenwood Branch of the Chicago Public Library wasn't the sexiest of buildings, but the photo of it does give us a look into the neighborhood's history.

Should we move to Mount Greenwood?
2008-01-16 16:35:00
As I noted in another discussion about the Mount Greenwood school, my wife, son, daughter and I might have to move to Chicago for my job, and we have friends in Mt. Greenwood so we might move there. But what do you think of it? Will it be welcoming to new "out of towners"? I already know about the schools, but what about the businesses? Are they good, do they meet your needs? What about restaurants and entertainment? What are some good web sites to use to found out about Mount Greenwood? Any help you can give is very much appreciated. Thanks.
