Moveon attack ad lies about McCain
2008-05-02 04:00:00
Wow. What can I say about this ad? You know it's a lie. McCain should demand a denunciation from Obama whom Moveon endorsed. Or, maybe, McCain is waiting for the general election to hang Moveon.org around Obama's neck. Powered by b2evolution.

Clinton trashes MoveOn, Part II
2008-04-19 07:15:00
Following up on Markos’ earlier post on Hillary Clinton trashing MoveOn for opposing a war they didn’t oppose and for encouraging people to vote, here’s what Hillary had to say about the organization earlier in the campaign, before they endorsed Barack Obama: Well again, I want to thank MoveOn for hosting the forum.  And I also ...

And the battle of the tape recordings of closed-door fundraisers escalates. In short, Clinton doesn’t like us and doesn’t agree with us. “Moveon.org endorsed [Sen. Snark of the Day: MoveOn.org

Shame on ABC: Enough Distractions! ABC let voters down with last night’s abysmal debate. Bad debates aren’t just painful to watch-they actually hurt the country. From the people that brought you this tasteless crap ad! Yes, it’s true. The left-wing anti-patriots at MoveOn.org, who didn’t think twice about handing jihadists potent ammunition the day before the sixth anniversary of 9/11 with their despicable attack on Gen. The MoveOn effect, part 1762
2008-03-03 13:26:00
This buisness is just getting comical: WESTERVILLE, Ohio -FOX- Clinton campaign officials have accused Democratic rival Barack Obama of making a ‘flub’ during an Ohio speech in which he described the Iraq war vote cast by a leading senator who endorsed him. Obama criticized Clinton expressly for failing to read the classified National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq’s weapons capabilities, a report available at the time of her October 2002 vote authorizing the Iraq war. He said that Sen. Jay Rockefeller, a fellow Democrat from neighboring West Virginia, had read the intelligence estimate as a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee and after a brief pause said the then-chairman had voted against the war resolution. However, Rockefeller was not the chair at the time and voted in favor of the war authorization. Sen. Bob Graham of Florida was the intelligence committee chair in 2002 and voted against the resolution. Obama did not mention Graham’s name in the passa...

Barack Obama Endorsed By MoveOn.Org | Obama Wins In Landslide!
2008-02-01 18:23:00
Senator Barack Obama won the endorsement of the liberal activist group MoveOn.org and by a landslide. And in the process became the standard bearer of John Edwards' agenda. Eli Pariser, the Executive Director of MoveOn.org, wrote this email that I just received: Dear MoveOn member,With hundreds of thousands of ballots cast across the country, for the first time in MoveOn's history, we've voted together to endorse a presidential candidate in the primary. That candidate is Barack Obama. Something big is clearly happening. A few weeks ago, MoveOn members we surveyed were split. But with John Edwards bowing out, progressives are coming together. Obama won over 70% of the vote yesterday, and he's moving up in polls nationwide.1 As comments poured in from MoveOn members across the country, the sense of hope was inspiring. Here's how Christine Y. in New Jersey put it:"I've never felt so strongly about any one candidate in my entire life. He's truly an inspiration to all of us?espe...
MoveOn.Org To Endorse Barack Obama
2008-02-01 17:49:00
MoveOn.org, the premier liberal website and political action committee, has officially endorsed Democratic candidate Barack Obama for president. In an innovative way to determine who to support, the website sent out ballots to more than three million of its members. Whichever candidate received the majority of votes would be the individual the website endorses. According to the website,''MoveOn is already working hard to build the biggest, most sophisticated progressive-voter turnout effort ever. Starting early is the key to winning?but it means we need resources right now.''Unquestionably, their overpowering voice will be heard on television and the internet as the race to the White House heats up. Additionally, the California Service Employees, that boasts a membership of over 600,000, has officially endorsed Obama as well.

Obama Launches New Bit - ?Hillary Clinton is just like Bush?, Plus MoveOn?s
2008-01-01 18:14:00
If in fact Obama does pull off Iowa it should be close. If however he runs away with it this will be another black eye for the mainstream media that is going out of its way to marginalize the candidates they don?t like and pick for you. Personally I hope the latter happens, in that case we get to see both the MSM and the Clinton machine go into overdrive which would lead to a very amusing and interesting race.

MoveOn vs. Democrats [Digg]

Nice to see some political backbone in Washington. Meanwhile, MoveOn and its billionaire donors are out to solidify their ideological control of the Democratic Party, even if that means denying what is actually happening inside Iraq.
Joe Lieberman Endorses John McCain
2007-12-20 10:28:00
Senator Joe Lieberman (I-Connecticut) further drove himself out of the graces of the Democratic Party when he endorsed Republican presidential candidate John McCain on Tuesday. Perhaps Lieberman was pushing them farther away in spite. Images of an irate, half-mad, Zeil Miller endorsing President Bush at the 2004 Republican National Convention come rushing back to me. The rarity of cross party endorsements in presidential elections is what makes this especially backstabbing. Lieberman has enraged Democrats over the past few years by refusing to go against the president on the Iraq war and a possible war with Iran. Lieberman has been a strong Bush supporter when it comes to the war in Iraq which cost him the Democratic nomination in Connecticut for U.S. Senate when he ran for re-election. Ned Lamont, who defeated Lieberman in the Democratic primary but lost to him when he ran as an Independent, criticized him for saying in 2006 that he wanted to elect a Democrat...

Moveon.org Takes on Facebook: The advocacy group says the site's ad system
2007-11-21 16:10:00
Liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org launched a campaign Tuesday on Facebook against Facebook, raising privacy concerns for users of the fast-growing social network. At issue is Facebook's new advertising program that lets its members notify friends about movies they rent, items they auction and movie tickets they buy at partner sites elsewhere on the Web. Facebook allows its members to opt out of the ad system, called Beacon. But MoveOn.org contends the program violates users' privacy by requiring them to opt out rather than voluntarily opt in. "The sole reason for this new feature is to serve corporate advertisers and make it easier for them to micro-target Facebook users with ads," MoveOn .org spokesman Adam Green said. "Breaching privacy is against the type of community Facebook should be striving for." MoveOn.org is buying ads, organizing a "protest group" and circulating an online petition to pressure Facebook to allow its more than 55 million users to change its opt-out met...

Moveon.org Misinforms Their Base Again: Distorts the Capital Gains Tax

I received another Moveon.org email this week. As usual, the email contained lies, damned lies, and no statistics to back up its assertions. It focused on the Alternative Minimum Tax and the Capital Gains Tax. Because the Alternative Minimum Tax, a tax created by liberal Democrats, is now harming the middleclass, the Democrats want to repeal it. Go figure! But, of course the Democrats cannot... MoveOn Moves In on Youth Forum
2007-10-30 04:25:00
The proliferation of mainstream media old timers like the New York Times that are trying to jump on the blogging bandwagon (at the same time they are trashing it) is intriguing. Nevertheless, the topic at hand is equally intriguing. The left is no stranger to intentionally skewing poll results, in this case skewing poll results to get the polling questions they want, to suit their agenda. I have seen posts at DU many times to ”DU This Poll” meaning to flood it with votes to skew the results in the direction they want. Then in an amazing feat of doublethink, they point to the skewed poll results as proof of their original proposition. Such mental gymnastics are worthy of an Olympic sport unto itself. Keep in mind that MoveOn.org are those same fine people *cough, cough* that ran a full page ad trashing General Petraeus calling him “General Betrayus”. I once heard the MoveOn crowd described as an unending parade of filth and villainy.  Pretty accurate all in all I’d say. ~RJH Ne...
Moveon.org Sent Me Another Propaganda Email about SCHIP
2007-10-17 22:19:00
I just received another email from Moveon.org. According to Moveon.org, not only will the Republicans lose votes if they uphold President Bush's SCHIP veto tomorrow, but children are going to die.Yes, children are going to die who cannot afford healthcare, but for the SCHIP program. So, according to Moveon.org, I can save these poor children by contributing $25 to pay for an advertisement telling the story of a young sick child. The total advertisement should cost $200,000. According to Moveon, this young girl would be dead today if it were not for Big Government. How about I pay them $25 for someone to teach these people economics?Nevertheless, this does beg the question, "Why can't Moveon.org just tell me which kids need my help so I can donate $25 to the needy families directly?" The answer is because this is not about needy families. It is not about the children. It is not about healthcare. It is about their power, their control, and their contempt for the rest of us....
Keith Olbermann is Taking Orders from Moveon.org
2007-10-14 23:54:00
I spoke with Rush Limbaugh on Friday regarding my email from Moveon.org. Moveon.org wanted me to start a candlelight vigil for the SCHIP program. They blatantly lied to their constituents about the nature of this massive government entitlement; it is not intended to help poor children at all.Even worse, Moveon.org asserted that Rush Limbaugh "Swift Boated a 12-year old." It was just a propaganda email, which demonstrates how pathetic these Left-wing organizations are. However, what I just saw during an MSNBC commercial was beyond the pale.In a promotion for Countdown with Keith Olbermann on MSNBC this week, the question was posed, "Did the Right Swift Boat a 12-year old?" This is clear evidence that Keith Olbermann received the same email that I did, subscribes to Moveon.org, and takes marching orders from Moveon.org and Media Matters. This is no longer about journalism, or even punditry, it is about Liberals' control of the MSM.Related EditorialsI Just Got Off the Phone With...
Rush Limbaugh Sells Harry Reid?s Letter on eBay to Support Military Familie
2007-10-13 01:11:00
Rush Limbaugh today demonstrated he may be the most politically savvy person in America. After weeks of Media Matters, Moveon.org, and the Democrats in Congress, taking Rush?s statements out of context and claiming he attacked the troops, Rush Limbaugh clearly has won this battle.Harry Reid sent a formal letter to Clear Channel Radio, signed by 41 Congressmen, asking that Rush Limbaugh apologize to the Troops. I guess according to Harry Reid, Rush should apologize for having his statements distorted? Anyway, what Rush did next was truly brilliant, and patriotic. The entire proceeds of this auction, the entire high bid, will be donated to The Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation, a registered charity which provides financial assistance to the children of fallen Marines and federal law enforcement officers. Rush Limbaugh serves on the Board of this organization and has been active on its behalf. All costs of this auction will be paid by the seller... every dollar of your winnin...
I Just Got Off the Phone With Rush Limbaugh Regarding this Moveon.org Email
2007-10-12 20:50:00
Folks, I just got off the phone with Rush Limbaugh regarding this email from Moveon.org. I subscribe to them so I can stay one-step ahead of them. They cannot be allowed to get control of this Country. Below you can see how they distort the SCHIP program in order to seek political gain. They even used a 12-year-old to lie for them. They have total contempt for their own subscribers; it is obnoxious. God help us if Hillary Clinton is our next President. When our kids get sick, having health insurance can mean the difference between life and death. Next week, Congress will decide which fate awaits poor children across America, when they consider whether to override President Bush's veto of kids' health care.1To win, we only need 15 more Republicans to switch sides?and the best way to make that happen is with nationwide outcry. So, on Tuesday night, we'll gather at candlelight vigils for the millions of U.S. children who won't get health care if the Republicans block the bill. Can yo...

2007-09-28 23:11:00
The last few days have seen what can be considered nothing other then a coordinated effort by the gals over at PMSNBC and the Clinton News Network to attack Fox News, Bill O'Reilly et al. This is a serious and concerted effort to silence and discredit conservative opinion makers. These people care not for the facts, or who they are harming, so long as they achieve their goal. It does not matter that facts and reality do not back up their story. One CNN commentator went so far as to call NPR's Juan Williams a "negro" and "Bill O'Reilly's Puppet." Now anyone who has seen Juan Williams commentary would know just how far from the truth this is. I guess stating the fact that "40% of black children our born without a father" makes him a Right-Winged fascist. With Media Matters, Moveon.org, MSNBC, CNN and the Democrat Party working in concert with one another, this smear campaign just may work. It is difficult for conservatives to respond because there is simply no such apparatus to res...
The Leftinistra and MoveOn Cowards
2007-09-28 21:56:00
Last week, Hillary Clinton voted against a resolution condemning MoveOn.org for its vicious personal attack on General David Petraeus, the highly-respected leader of our Armed Forces in Iraq. Now, Bill Clinton is joining in, but - typically - he's taking it even further, angrily attacking those who condemned the ad: To see Clinton's comments, click here. Why are the Clintons so invested in defending MoveOn.org? Well, remember what MoveOn.org's original purpose was? It was founded to attack any Republican who dared stand against the Clinton machine during the former President's impeachment and trial in the Senate for perjury and obstruction of justice. Since then, MoveOn.org has branched out. They opposed military action in Afghanistan after September 11, 2001. After the 2004 elections, the group's director said "Now it's our party: we bought it, we own it, and we're going to take it back." To do that, they have funded radical, far-left candidates in races across the c...

In an "odd" turn of events, the far-left kook fringe organization that has claimed that they "own" the Democratic Political Party, has recently embarked on a sad and failed attempt to distance themselves from themselves.Everyone in the world knows that the MoveOn folks are loony lefties. In recent weeks, the organizations slandered an American Hero, General Petraeus, the Commander of forces in Iraq. Not only did they fall flat on their ugly mugs, they were forced to make amends by paying the full costs of the ad and the NYSlimes also had to come clean after being renounced by both Houses of CONgress.Once again, we in The New Media, the One True Mainstream Media, Conservative Bloggers, will rally and not them get away with this one either. MoveOn Ad...Enough Already!
2007-09-27 23:01:00
I am dumbfounded by the lack of sincerity and focus in our Congress. That they should fall for Bush's ploy and false defense of General Betrayus. Yes...That's right.I said it! I agree with the ad!I say one manipulation of the military for purely political reasons deserves another! The only problem here is that Bush-baby doesn't like it when others play with his toys. So he gets all upset, calls a press conference and calls the other kids on the playground names. Throwing accusations at them like stones at the kids minding their own business on the slide.Petraeus is unclear as to his mission for America. He either thinks, or has been ordered by the Commander in Chief, to ignore his duty to the nation and our Democracy, in favor of the pushing the political agenda of the President. That is not his job, and is a clear indication of his betrayal of the nation he is charged to protect. Moreover...Freedom of speech is our MOST BASIC right in this nation. In fact, it is one of t...
House Condemns MoveOn.org's Petraeus Ad
2007-09-26 21:54:00
The House on Wednesday overwhelmingly voted to condemn the liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org for a recent advertisement attacking the top U.S. general in Iraq. By a 341-79 vote, the House passed a resolution praising the patriotism Gen. David Petraeus, the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, and condemning a MoveOn.org ad that referred to Petraeus as ''General Betray Us.'' The liberal group's full-page ad appeared earlier this month in The New York Times and has served as a rallying point for Republicans. President Bush called the ad ''disgusting'' and criticized Democrats such as Sen. Hillary Clinton, the front-runner for the party's nomination, for being afraid of irritating the group. ''Such unwarranted attacks should be strongly condemned by Republicans and Democrats alike,'' said Rep. Jerry Lewis, R-Calif., during brief debate on the resolution. Wisconsin Rep. David Obey, a veteran Democrat, recounted how he left the Republican Party during the era of Sen. Josep...

2007-09-26 02:37:00
The Democrats just lost the 2008 election. They will not be able to overcome the Far-Left?s insanity. Stick a fork in them; they are done.If it was not bad enough that Moveon.org attacked 4-star General Petraeus, calling him ?General Betray Us,? Moveon.org has continued their disgraceful antics over the last few weeks. Consequently, many Democrats, including Hillary Clinton, were forced to take the indefensible position of siding against those who are trying to secure Iraq.We have heard from an unnamed insider that the Democrats in Congress are furious over the Moveon.org ad. While many Democrats really believe that the War in Iraq is wrong, some of them are actually patriotic Americans who support General Petraeus, Jim Webb comes to mind. But, Moveon.org has taken over the Party, contributing more money than the NRA, and the Democrats are powerless to stop them. Now let us go forward one week. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is invited to speak at Columbia University. Lee Bollinger, bein...
Blogger Complains to FEC About Giuliani's MoveOn.org Ad
2007-09-25 19:16:00
Rudy Giuliani's shot at MoveOn.org may end up costing his campaign more than he bargained for. In response to the organization's now-famous New York Times ad about "General Betray Us," Giuliani's campaign took out its own ad and demanded the same, $64,575 rate that the Times gave to MoveOn. Now, however, the Times has admitted that it should have charged MoveOn its standard rate of $142,083, prompting the group to write another $77,000 check to the Times. But what about Giuliani's ad? A new complaint filed with the Federal Elections Commission Monday alleges that Giuliani's campaign must also pay the full amount or be in violation of taking what amounts to an illegal corporate contribution from the Times. "The difference, $77,083 is an in-kind corporate contribution, which far exceeds the limits allowed by law," alleges the complaint, written by Lane Hudson, a blogger who recently filed a complaint with the FEC about the campaign of Fred Thompson. "If he does not [pay the ...
New York Times Says It Violated Policies Over MoveOn Ad

It's MoveOn Money That Matters
2007-09-24 20:30:00
I apologize to everything in the universe for continuing to post on that ad, but alas, it is necessary.I can?t think of a word to describe how pathetic it is that, in the ongoing effort to avoid actually analyzing and debating the contents of the ?General Betray Us? MoveOn ad (though the Washington Post did try to do that here ? I think their suppositions against MoveOn are ridiculous, but at least this was an attempt), we are now at a point where we are arguing about the cost of the ad!To be fair, though, I should point out that the New York Times is merely responding to a request from Freedom Crock, who complained that they didn?t get the same terms for ?the response ad? that MoveOn got.A freeper front organization that placed a $15 million ad buy is complaining about a difference of a few thousand dollars. All to run their commercials for the war.Are you as repulsed by that as I am?As Times public editor Clark Hoyt notes here?Did MoveOn.org get favored treatment from The Times? A...
New York Times Regrets Moveon.org Ad on General Petraeus
2007-09-24 19:23:00
The New York Times has expressed regret about publishing a paid advertisement that contained an attack against the commander of US forcers in Iraq, General David Petraeus. The full-page add by the liberal group MoveOn.org appeared in the paper on September 10, the day Petraeus appeared before Congress to testify about the war in Iraq, under the provocative headline "General Petraeus or General Betray Us?" It sparked outrage among Republicans and some Democrats. On Sunday, New York Times public editor Clark Hoyt said "the ad violated The Times's own written standards, and the paper now says that the advertiser got a price break it was not entitled to." Hoyt quoted Times spokeswoman Catherine Mathis as saying "We made a mistake." MoveOn.org paid a discount rate of 64,575 dollars for the ad whereas it should have been charged 142,083 dollars. Mathis said the advertising representative failed to make it clear that for that rate The Times could not guarantee the Monday place...

I've always agreed with Socrates that dialog is the best path to knowledge. Here's an example of a little exchange that occurred this morning, shortly after my weekly radio interview by Bob Brill on KNX 1070 all-news radio, in which I was talking about the MoveOn.org - General Petraeus "Betray Us" controversy. My position: Most people - just about everyone, I'd say - can understand the difference between a General giving advice to Congress, supporting a President in his harmful foreign policy, that betrays the best interests of our country. This is what the MoveOn.org ad was clearly saying. Not that the General was betraying us on the battlefield, or by working with the enemy - a clearly absurd point to make, and which no one, even the war's most bitter opponents, has ever suggested. But the Republicans are clearly trying to pretend that the literal traitor point is what the MoveOn....
Moveon.org Continues With Its Assault On General Petraeus
2007-09-23 21:57:00
Moveon.org has continued to bring the Democratic Party lower and lower into the abyss. While many Americans disagree with the War in Iraq, none of them want to see an organization that donates more to politicians than the NRA call a General a traitor.Instead of apologizing for calling General Petraeus 'General Betray Us' in a full-page New York Times ad, Movon.org is claiming that the United States' Senate is silencing their speech. No, the United State's Senate condemned Moveon.org's disgraceful comments, but in no way shape or form banned Moveon.org from speaking.Ironically, there is no doubt that FDR would have thrown all the members of Moveon.org in jail and had them tried for treason. He then would have shut down the New York Times. Now Moveon.org is having its lunatic members sign petitions telling their Senators and Representatives that they will continue to trash the General until the Iraq War is over.Well, here is what I did, and I encourage you to do as well: Moveo...
New York Times Responds to MoveOn Ad Controversy
2007-09-23 21:35:00
The ombudsman for The New York Times has responded to the controversy over the MoveOn ad. There have been two major issues–whether MoveOn unfairly received a price break for ideological reasons and whether an ad using language such as “General Betray Us” should have been run at all. The answer to the first question remains murky. ...
Hypocrisy Surrounding the NY Times MoveOn.org Advert
2007-09-23 20:26:00
I would like the start off by saying that I do not necessarily subscribe to the ideas put forth in the MoveOn advertisement, in fact I have never read the silly thing. The important part of the controversy, however, does not lie in whether or not you believe the message of the New York ...
New York Times admits truth about MoveOn.org ad
2007-09-23 20:04:00
Once again the media, in this case the New York Times, has been caught with it’s hand in the political cookie jar. For two weeks they have been defending their actions of not only running a despicable ad for the liberal activist group MoveOn.org but also giving them a huge discount on the cost of the ad. Later when Rudy Giuliani was given the same rate to run a counter ad the left pointed to that as proof of what the New York Times has been claiming. Obviously, they had to give Giuliani the same rate after being caught. I think thats too subtle for some on the left to understand though. However, after two weeks of denials it seems like at the very least the Times violated its own rules and at the worst are, once again, willing accomplices to the left in smearing conservatives. What a shocker. Eli Pariser, the executive director of MoveOn.org, told me that his group called The Times on the Friday before Petraeus’s appearance on Capitol Hill and asked for a rush ad in Monday’s pap...

MoveOn Unmoved By Furor Over Ad Targeting Petraeus
2007-09-21 17:22:00
A few weeks before Army Gen. David H. Petraeus’s much-anticipated testimony on Iraq, the leadership of MoveOn.org, the Internet-based liberal group that has rallied its 3 million members around the country to oppose the war, decided on a change in strategy. Rather than making another appeal to moderate Republicans to join Senate Democrats in passing an ...
