Top Ten Moves We'd Make for the Cubs and Sox, but They Wouldn't
2009-07-10 09:00:00 The beauty of being a fan is that we can come up with most unthinkable scenarios for our favorite squads and convince ourselves that it makes undeniable sense. Logic ceases to exist and some of the most far fetched ideas that we can conjure up will undoubtedly cure what ails us. With that in mind, we decided to step into the shoes of White Sox general manager Kenny Williams and Cubs general manager Jim Hendry and let our imagination run wild. Here's what we came up with. 10. Cut the Fat, a.k.a. Bartolo ColonThe South Side's hefty hurler went M.I.A. this week, something that sounds about as improbable as losing Optimus Prime in the middle of New York City. Don't...
Google Finance Revamped - A Prelude To More Such Moves?
2009-07-09 17:36:00 It seems after the ‘out-of-beta’ buzz, Google is taking the revamp strategy to pull in more users. It just recently revamped Google Finance, financial analysis portal. The revamped layout is just few days old and is slimmer and more useful then the previous one. The changes were essential as the site was attaining mainstream uses due to its varied useful features. Changes made in Google Finance: Google finance now provides a left-navigation bar that lets users move between the major sections of the site in one click. Links to sub-sections, like portfolio related news or individual portfolios. This would surely make Google finance much simpler in use. Now users can also drag and drop section items in home page by clicking the arrow given above the box. Users can also customize charts in a better way by accessing chart Settings which allows to view OHLC and Candlestick charts. The most enticing change which may work in its favor is the introduction of Advanced Technical ...

CTA moves to ease Canal and Monroe bus bottleneck
2009-06-30 13:00:00 A month after 14 bus routes underwent service changes due to work on the Jackson Street viaduct, the CTA is making more bus stop changes as a result of customer feedback and its own analysis. I was getting reports recently about 10-minute back-ups at Canal and Monroe as buses and cars lined up to make the eastbound right turn onto Monroe. And now the CTA is responding to those delays. From the Web site:Canal/Monroe The northbound near side stop on Canal at Monroe will no longer be served by the following routes: #38 Ogden/Taylor #129 West Loop/South Loop #60 Blue Island/26th &-nbsp; (PM service only) #124 Navy Pier #130 Museum Campus #125 Water Tower Express #157 Streeterville Buses operating...

NBC's "Medium" Moves to CBS
2009-05-28 03:14:00 Who would of thought that a hit show would move to the only network that only has like three great shows. Word is "Medium" received a cancellation notice. One day later CBS picked up the show. Question is why doesn't this happen with more shows. Anyways the show will be put in a Great slot right after "Ghost Whisperer". It shocks me that NBC would get rid of a great show when they are Second to CBS in Crap TV programing. At least rumors will be held back and the everyone involved still has a job. My only worry is that it is on CBS. Most shows fail due to bad marketing, and on the other hand some Excel with no promotion. The TV industry will always leave us hanging, but at least we can say another show is saved.

PR Hack Bill Moyers moves over to Goebbels Land
2009-04-16 21:49:00 Three months ago, Bill Moyers, press secretary to Pres Lyndon B Johnson during the war in Vietnam, made an explicitly racist anti-Jewish claim. He said that the Jews were "genetically" inclined to violence. Note, not Muslim peoples especially and generally [the Arabs, the Turks, the Pakistanis, etc] but the Jews. He does mention the Arabs but gets in his racial point by mentioning the Jews' and Arabs' common link to the Patriarch Abraham. Thus the Arabs are "genetically coded" to be violent through their link to the Jews. Now, this claim is especially sinister coming from Moyers who is a professional propagandist, a long-time commentator on PBS, a US-govt supported TV network in the US supposedly aiming at a high-brow audience. Since leaving Johnson's employ in the Sixties, Moyers has spent his time in promoting various political programs through PBS and other avenues. He has always been subtly anti-Israel. Now, he is clearly racist against Jews. After all, "genetically" means rac...

BMW Moves the Z2 Roadster into Production
2009-04-14 21:33:00 A short while back, BMW began releasing some teaser photos of a small roadster called the Z2. Now, BMW has officially announced that the Z2 will enter production and will be more than able to compete with the vehicles in its class.

As Predicted: Sydney Moves Back into MELROSE PLACE
2009-04-06 17:38:00 In today’s edition of why one lucky network should be handing over big bucks, a corner office and a fancy title to this TV Addict, we take a look at yesterday’s late breaking news courtesy of the Hollywood Reporter that has actress Laura Leighton reprising her role as everybody’s favorite red-headed vixen, Sydney Andrews on the CW’s MELROSE PLACE re-boot. Something we should mention, we called for way back in March, when we wrote what would turn out to be the following prophetic plea: With Entertainment Weekly reporting that Heather Locklear has done the expected and turned down the CW’s much-publicized plea offer to return to MELROSE PLACE, can the producers please move on, come to their senses and offer Laura Leighton the starring role Sydney so richly deserves. Not surprisingly, Leighton joining the cast of ludicrously good looking tenants including Shaun Sipos, Michael Rady, Jessica Lucas, Katie Cassidy, Ashlee Simpsson-Wentz, Colin Egglesfield and...

Making Moves: Pens Deal Ryan Whitney
2009-02-27 13:20:00 Today the Pittsburgh Penguins acquired Winger Chris Kunitz and a 20 year old prospect Eric Tangradi from the Anaheim Ducks. The move was largely to get a winger to play with Sidney Crosby for the Penguins Playoff Push. The deal moves defense man Ryan Whitney to the Ducks. Kunitz has been tagged a “top six forward” by Penguins GM Ray Shero and he seems pretty pleased about the deal. He did not specifically say that the deal was to get someone to team up with Sid. The deal net the Pens a solid Winger and Tangradi, a Philadelphia native, who is a highly touted prospect who has 87 points (38 goals, 49 assists) in 52 games with the Ontario Hockey League’s Belleville Bulls this season. Anaheim drafted him 42nd overall in 2007. The Penguins have a great deal of depth currently at the blue line with the return of Sergi Gonchar. Whitney has not played up to expectations this year. With the emergence of Kris Letang and withand Alex Goligoski and his development ...

New York Senator Moves Guns From Under Her Bed
2009-02-17 20:23:00 New York Senator Moves Guns From Under Her Bed NEW YORK — Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, whose pro-gun stance has attracted criticism from fellow New York Democrats, has moved two rifles she kept under her bed for protection because of news reports about the weapons. In a Newsday interview published earlier Monday, Gillibrand said she and her husband, Jonathan, kept the rifles to protect their upstate New York home. The couple has two young children. Gillibrand spokesman Matt Canter told the newspaper in a story posted on the its Web site Monday evening that the rifles were removed for security reasons because their location had been reported. Gillibrand representatives didn’t immediately return a telephone call from The Associated Press on Monday evening. Canter said the rifles were not loaded and the Gillibrands follow gun-safety procedures. He would not say if they kept ammunition nearby. MN & WI Weekend Series moves back to Sunday!!!
2008-10-28 15:15:00 ABA recently released an updated Minnesota & Wisconsin 2009 Schedule, they made on change on bodies of water, which I am guessing was due to permits. Also, they moved two tournaments from launching on the MN to WI side, also probably because of permit issues and costs. But the most notable change is that the first 4 events have been moved to Sunday. I know several guys that would have fished more or all the events last year if ABA would not have moved them to Saturday. This allows anglers to prefish on Saturday without taking off of work, plus removes conflicts with other major tournament circuits such as Silverado, BFL's & Fishers of Men, which will allow more anglers to fish multiple circuits. ABA also has a thing called a BASS Pass that allows you to purchase it and allows you to have a sub at the tourney meeting, so if you can't make it to a pairings meeting because you are fishing a different tourney on Saturday, that is...
O's Make Moves; Release Adam Loewen
2008-10-21 17:13:00 If you all have not heard, the Orioles made a series of moves Monday afternoon, the biggest being the release of Adam Loewen. The Orioles conducted some offseason housekeeping on Monday when they released former first-round Draft pick Adam Loewen and outrighted five players to Triple-A Norfolk. Loewen, who has retired as a pitcher due to recurring elbow injuries, is attempting to reignite his career as a position player, and he likely will ink a Minor League contract with the team some time soon.Loewen missed virtually all of the 2007 season with a stress fracture in his left elbow, an injury that took an operation to repair. The southpaw went through all the requisite rehabilitation, but he suffered the same injury last season and was told it would take 18 months to recover from another surgery, a realization that spurred him to try his hand at hitting. In addition to the Loewen move, Baltimore outrighted pitchers Randor Bierd and Rocky Cherry, infielder Brando Fahey, outfielder Jeff...

Google Moves to 3rd Party Processing - The eCrime equivalent
2008-09-24 02:00:00 The numbers behind Google's processing are staggering. Indexing over one trillion URLs, the Internet search giant reported in January that it processes 20 Petabytes of data per day. Turns out a Petabyte is 1000 Terbytes. So Google processes over 20,000 Terabytes of data per day. Supporting all of this impossibly massive data crunching is a huge network of proprietary servers and custom made storage. It's the mythical Google grid. Google conceals the exact nature of the grid; it's one of their trade secrets. So, what if I told you Google is abandoning its mythical, proprietary, custom-made processing and storage grid, and is moving to an off-the-shelf third party processing platform? Any boffin would have choked on this scoop. OK, relax. Google isn't ditching its proprietary grid. But its eCrime equivalent is certainly doing exactly that.

According to Meltzer, UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will headline the event, though there is an added twist. He will not be defending his belt.
