Phil Sims told WGCL in Atlanta Monday that he was sickened to see what someone had done to the Obama mural, adding that the area had a mural of Martin Luther King Jr., that had never been defaced. Cameron Wilthshire, who created the mural with another artist, told the Atlanta TV station that “the eyes were blacked out and there was a swastika on his forehead.” Wilthshire said there are those who just aren’t ready for a Black president, and they can’t wrap their head around the thought. He said if the mural is defaced again, he’ll just paint over it.
