2008-09-24 12:25:00
Bright summer’ ready to bid its farewell. Mighty sun not as harsh as the life itself. (naashukra-pan =P Tauba Tauba) Alhamdolillah to Allah Almighty for his limitless, infinite bounties and blessings. Chill all prepared to seep in. There’s a creepy sadness in the air … few secret smiles. Yet the uncertainty. *takes a moment to think about the secret ...

My Own Seville Apartment
2007-04-28 07:53:00
I am always on the lookout for a places to stay in Italy and Spain that allow me access to a kitchen. The Apartamentos Murillo in the charming Santa Cruz neighborhood of Seville is one place that I try to spend a few days when traveling on the Iberian Peninsula. Seville is a wonderful city with its gardens, cathedral and, of course, the stunning Alcazar. Seville, and the Santa Cruz neighborhood in particular, is the kind of place in Spain where you can expect tiny streets and great tapas and it won?t disappoint. The one room apartment that I always get at the Apartamentos Murillo is a great place to base myself when exploring Seville and collecting fresh ingredients to use in my own kitchen. The apartments, one room with a sitting area and well-equipped kitchen, are a home away from home. Moving from the kitchen to the large, comfortable sofa in the lounge area while cooking a dinner, windows open to the evening air, stirs a chord in me. Of course, there is always occasion to let so...
Left To My Own Devices

The following chronicles my web exploration and site building exploits. The original article appears here. Before GoogleFor anyone who maybe remotely interested. My online adventures began in the summer of 1995. A friend and I spent a leisurely Sunday afternoon in Bournemouth University's main library surfing the net using Netscape 3 Gold (back in the days before the advent of 'free' browsers and IE domination). The first site I ever visited was Sony USA. And the first search (using Yahoo!) was for actress Winona Ryder. Does anyone remember this site from Eric Harshbarger?http://www.auburn.e-du/~harshec/WWW/Winona.html/Aft-er graduation, and now in gainful employment at Reuters Business Information (RBI), I signed-up with AOL UK (1997).Google EarthIn the spring of 1998 Macworld UK magazine carried a free copy of Claris Homepage on a cover CD.Claris Homepage may have lacked the 'killer' features of GoLive and sexier Dreamweaver (the de facto WYSIWYG), but it was simplicity itself, a...

I broke my own record
2007-04-11 09:25:00
Just this year I gain my driving license, so I have to drive politely and obey all the law of course. Just after gaining my license, my father entrust me to drive his car that is Toyota Avanza to fetch 2 of my brother from school. At first, I feel a little anxious but excited, of course it is so easy for others. So month later, after suiting with the job given by my father, he give me permission to live outside from MIAT's hostel which mean I have to drive from Putrajaya to MIAT. At first, it took me 30 minutes to drive from home to MIAT, but after a while, it took me about 15 minutes to arrive in MIAT. Today, I just took 10 minutes to arrive. I drove around 13o kmh on the highway and when arriving to kampung road section, I drove around 80 kmh.It is now my habit to drive as fast as I could to do another record. Maybe u think the road to MIAT is so easy and not very challenging. But it is very challenging and even my friend impress with me coz I am driving 7-seater car but still it...
In a world of my own

If possible we should laugh at life. Take nothing too seriously. It's marginally easier to do this with other people's problems than our own, but it can work. I can't see much to laugh at, do or anything else at the moment, though I am getting to know someone better and better who is taken, too young, unsuitable and one of the only women I know at the moment besides one who thinks I'm too young (as if that was possible) who has any effect on me. I get more from spending a little time with her than a lot with most other women, even if something actually happens. It's the quality that counts and I saw it the first day I ever saw her and it grows each time since. That's one example of letting it happen out of my control, it's got its own momentum and however unlikely any progress would be I am happy the way things are going as they are.So, possibly for the first time blogger removed 2 paragraphs. I removed a third as it made me look like more of a geek than I really am. Yes, it ...

Following My Own Advice: Increased My Investment in PHO (a.k.a Water)

A Realtor After My Own Heart
2007-04-01 00:00:00
I just finished reading Broker Bryant's Real Estate Ramblings Blog and I came away feeling a bit jealous of the investors he works with. His "Has Your Flip, Flopped?" post is a must-read for all real estate professionals going after the real estate investor market. Broker Bryant understands that real estate investing is a serious venture and uses his knowledge in his market to give realistic options to his clients. In his post, he mentions a client who has deposited $30K and needs $50K to close on the home. I don't know the total sales price of the home, but putting down $80K better bring in a hefty return on investment. His client's options are limited because there are 100 active listings and only 7 sales in the last 6 months. A dire situation to say the least.Broker Bryant does not go into much detail about the advice he gave his client, but I would have told him to go back to the builder and try to negotiate down the amount the builder will keep. With any luck, the builder will ...
My own little tour
2007-03-28 10:13:00
Sometimes I don't see a concert for months; now there were a lot of them in a few weeks. First I went to see Tim Finn in Vredenburg, Utrecht. It was a very disappointing concert. His young backing band just didn't seem capable of playing his music the way they should. Not one moment there was the magic that I expected based on his solo outings or his records with Split Enz, Finn Brothers or Crowded House. One days later I saw ?And You Will Know of By The Trail of Dead supported by We vs. Death in Tivoli, Utrecht. Trail of Dead is kinda lost as well. They just can't seem to decide whether they want to stay loyal to their emo-roots or want to end up being a bombastic mastodon. On the other hand, that's a nice thing about them as well. The Saturday following the Trail of Dead-concert it was Mike Scott's Waterboys' turn. Scott seems to return to his folk orientated sound on Waterboys new album, Book of Lightning. Funny was that he almost refused to play classic songs, because he...

Too fast for my own good

Ok.........I've had a stellar walking/breathing week. Actually... make that 3 stellar weeks! I've been green lighting ever since I got out of prison last month, and to prove it, I even did that sub 2 hour 10 mile walk three days ago.Well, it's pay back time, because now I'm suffering the negative effects of going hog wild on that racewalking stunt . I'm back in yellow zone and my lungs are hyper- inflated! I don't feel that bad , just enough to put me in a bitchy mood cause I'm too short of breath to do much of anything. When will I learn, that just because I'm feeling invincible during a string of good breathing days, that it doesn't mean I've sprouted a new pair of lungs. When I'm lucky enough to get these good days, I tend to develop temporary amnesia for all the bad days that proceeded it. I have this nasty habit of pushing myself hard when I'm feeling well---shame on me!As ridiculous as it might sound, when I walk ,I have to continually remind myself not to wa...
Taking Advertising Space On My Blog Into My Own Hands
2007-03-10 17:14:06
After experimenting with AdBrite on my blog I have decided to take the advertising ?real estate? of my website into my own hands. While AdBrite had performed well on my other websites both for me and my advertisers, it is not the case with this blog. I was fortunate enough to get the feedback from majority of advertisers that have made weekly and monthly placements on my site in the past via AdBrite. The new ad system on my website will feature ads on over 500 pages of my website. You can find all the details here.

As a youngster in high school I was the nerd that everyone picked on. My parents made me wear short hair in a day when long was the fashion. We went to church on Saturdays, so I missed out on all the weekend fun with school friends and I was not much of a fighter so I got beaten up on a fairly regular (try daily) basis for about six years straight. Nobly I took this with typical British aplomb, never complaining to teachers or parents. And they wondered why my grades were so bad! I hated school but was too much of a wimp to say or do anything outside of the rules that adults laid down for me to follow. My parents considered me a good child. That this type of bullying should continue and accompany my life once school was over with and I became a young adult seemed, well normal! I had moved to a new house with my parents as I was working for a year to save money to get to the USA and start a new life where no one knew who I was in reality (and so I reveal most of these dark secrets to ...

On my Own
2007-03-06 05:56:00
Mau Marcelo –As a young child, her mother first thought that she was a dancer, but it turns out that her Amerasian daughter had a talent for singing. As any loving mother who believed that her daughter was destined for greater things, she supported her every endeavor. So, that’s how Mau Marcelo became the “suki” of all the singing competitions held in her hometown and beyond. She was often ridiculed for her color or her size but this experience did not break her. Her winning in singing contests has honed not only her talent but has also helped mold her character. She has come to believe in herself and love herself despite what others say. This confidence is what keeps her going and ready to face life’s challenges.Whitney lyrics - whitney houstonLYRICS
A Dream, Not My Own (42/365)
2007-02-23 00:41:00
My lovely husband was looking slightly bemused one morning, kind of shaking his head slightly as he made coffee. When I asked, he told me that he had a dream the night before that he had to treat the lead singer of the Arctic Monkeys. The singer had bone mets and was in so much pain he couldn't perform, so Dr. V. treated him so he could do the show.My interpretation is that the dream was triggered by all the cigarette imagery on the CD art, or this song:As far as Dr. V's dream, apparently it's not enough that he actually does that shit all day. He's got to dream about it, too. Fucking overachiever.

Scene: I'm sore and can't (easily) climb stairs. Hubby hurt his back and shoulder and can't (easily) climb stairs. We'd run out of toilet paper in the downstairs bathroom. But I know we have new rolls in their packaging in the upstairs bathroom.Sweetie, can you do me a favor? What, Mom?Go to the upstairs bathroom. There's a few rolls of toilet paper on the bathroom floor. Please bring down one roll of toilet paper.Okay, Mom. (pitter patter to the bathroom... pitter patter back to the top of the stairs)A whole roll of toilet paper, Mom?Yes, a whole roll from the bathroom, please.Okay. (pitter patter to.... pitter patter back....)Does Daddy need to blowing his nose? No. It's not for Daddy. I need a roll of toilet paper so I can put it in the downstairs bathroom.Okay. No. Not exactly.Luckily, Hubby was able to salvage the ...
My own Testimonial
2007-02-09 14:21:00
I have been collecting testimonials from others and didn't even really share mine. Of course, for those who had the chance to look at my results (before it was removed), you know very well that the consistency is there.Anyway, since I started tracking the effectiveness of this tool in Sep 2006, it has been a double digit growth month to month in my trading account. I am even considered the most laid back trader as I don't actively watch this separate account.Whilst others have even better return but I really can't complain as I have better leverage on time and money using this strategy tool. Just to sum it up :1) No more charts2) No prior trading experience3) No monitoring of market movements4) No expensive software5) 5 minutes to trade or even LESSAll you need is a willing mind to learn how to use the tool and computer skills (but of course, if you are reading my post now...I'm sure you know how to use a computer!)I have been trading forex since 2003 and how I wished this to...
When I was working in my own business, the hardest thing to
2007-01-13 07:40:02
When I was working in my own business, the hardest thing to do was to work out my profitability. (I used to work as a a web developer on a contract basis for clients.) Anyway, I can only imagine how hard it would be for larger companies to do this. Gathering the metrics is the first point of and then comes analyzing.. to try to make some sense out of the information that you have aquired. I do that on a very small scale for the company I work for now - of course once I have done all of this data manipulation and formatting the numbers are out of date, the boss is impressed but I have to do it all over again! Acorn delivers the Enterprise Profit System, a system that takes you by the hand and shows you where you could be more profitable. Allowing you to drill down the data to find out exactly where you are losing money, time and resources. This gives you a unique advantage over your competitors and help you to steamline your business. A definite must have for medium to large ...

too many things these days come with certain conditions that must be fulfilled in order to attain them. in retail: if you buy something, you can get another for free but it must be under blah blah price. in finance: you have to have certain credentials before they can give you so and so funds. in employment: you have to be registered with such and such organisation before you can start working
My Own Photographs
2006-08-18 19:35:00
:::::My Own Photographs:::::It is really a headache to find the photographer. Maybe I got high expectation? But once in a lifetime le. The skill of the photographer must at least be better than me. :pFor me, taking photos is like telling a story. It requires patience to capture the right moments. Each photo shows a captured moment. Many photos tell the whole story. It is not easy. It requires patience and sharpness. Out of 10 shots of the same scene, maybe 1 or 2 will be the better ones. For me, I was asked to take photographs for free for one of my friends' ROM. This is one of the photos I can share with you. It is a pillow with the wedding bands on top. For those who are preparing for weddings, remember to get a pillow. It could be part of the freebies from the bridal package. If no, you got to get one, either by borrowing or getting a new one.Pillow with wedding bandThe next photo is a picture of my cousins when they were attending my other cousin's wedding dinner. As typical te...
